  1. People should think before posting comments then shudnt they ! No-one knows wat goes on with peoples lifes , and I always support and encourage people on here and on another wls site . Not pick at peoples threads !
  2. I dont ignore warnings at all , I did say I DO need to STOP ! Im only a social smoker , hardly a 20 a day habit . I know its still wrong , but hey dont we all have bad addictions ... FOOD being the main one on here ... I have had a terrible 6 years with some real heart ache in my life and been through hell and back . BUT i could do a damn lot worse than having an ODD ciggy , I have NEVER touched a DRUG in my life , I also only have an odd glass of wine on social occasions . Ive never done anything BAD to hurt anyone in my life , Im a caring person and a law abiding citizen . And having my car trashed last night by vandals ,upsets me ! WHAT IM SAYING IS I HAVE HAD A CRAP TIME AND AN ODD CIGGY TO SAVE MY SANITY ISNT A CRIME , ESPECIALLY WHEN I SMOKE IT OUTSIDE HARMING NO-ONE BUT MYSELF ! And as for being fit for my surgery I have already lost a stone and I walk between 3-6 miles daily and I also attend the gym 3 times a week. Rant over Thank you ! Sas
  3. Hi Nat :biggrin2: When I went to The Heartlands I got weighed , blood pressure taken by the nurse . I then seen the surgeons right hand man , we spoke about my obese life and how I had tried all diets and prescibed diet pills to no sucess . He asked me what I knew about the lap band surgery and we spoke about the whole new approach to life and diet . He offered me the surgery more or less straight away , due to my bmi being 51 . I then went to a seminar with the dietician , again spoke about healthy foods and how to look after your band , we seen an animated band operation and that was that ! Wishing u the best of luck Sas x
  4. Thanks Hunny and CONGRATS on ya pregnancy ! Wishing u a healthy and happy time . Sas x
  5. Yeh ! sure keep in touch and I will keep u updated ! The heartlands seemed great and I heard very glowing reports about Dr Super and the care at the Heartlands , Hence I chose that Hospital . I had the choice of another , but I spoke to a patient of Dr Supers whos is local to me and he had nothing but praise ! I have only been there once for my first appointment back in May , I have my pre op in 4 weeks so I will let u know how it was . Tc Sas x:rolleyes2:
  6. Just wanted to wish u luck and a healthy & speedy recovery hunny ! Tc Sas x
  7. I personally think there are much more risks in being obese than band complications ! We all know the comorbidities that come with obesity eh .... I think these outweigh the risks & possible complications . And yes I think most surgeons use the stitch band to stomach nowdays to avoid slippage . Hoping u make the right decision for yourself Choosing WLS and which type is a very personal decision helped along with health care professional recommendations, which type of surgery is going to be best suited and sucessful for you ! Tc Sas x:thumbup:
  8. Cheers Wanda ! for your feedback , Im in the Uk and Im guessing the names will differ . The whey Protein I have heard better reports of than the normal protein ! I intend to go to the health shop and take a look and ask for some advice ! Cheers hun tc Sas x
