  1. My liquid diet is only 2 days so I haven’t started ? I do have my cookies and cream premier protein shakes all planned out, though!
  2. We’re surgery day twins! We should keep in touch! And I love your username!
  3. I swear if I can’t get enough fluids down post-surgery I’m sticking an IV in myself LOL
  4. If that doesn’t work I can put an IV in you with some fluids running ?
  5. Prayers for no Cigna dinging!
  6. You can do it! Maybe you’ll hear back tomorrow since it’s the weekend now. I scheduled my surgery 2 months out to save up money (self-pay) and it’s been a long wait but nothing compared to some people’s insurance requirements with 6 month weight-loss diet and nutrition, psych consults, etc. I try to look at it as I only have 3 weeks left to get things done around here before surgery puts me out ?
  7. Yeah, many doctors will do either. OP- you just have to find a doctor willing to do it if you choose to go that route.
  8. I’m getting bypass and my bmi is 30. Mine was recommended due to my GERD.
  9. The surgery will definitely help your diabetes and high blood pressure! You’re doing the right thing!
  10. My liquid diet is only 2 days since my bmi is so low.
  11. I’m a healthcare professional. Kimmy is right, the thallium will be inserted via IV most likely into a large vein in the inner elbow (called the AC) or higher up in the arm.
  12. It’s crazy what insurance requires to prevent paying for this! I don’t have any requirements at all and the first time I get weighed is day of surgery
  13. I’m one of those people that does have to gain weight prior to surgery as I’ve lost weight since my approval (stress) and don’t have my surgery for another month. Thankfully I only have a 2-day preop diet! I’m self-pay and my surgeon’s office is the one requiring it due to my bmi being at the minimum for surgery.
  14. Usually insurance goes by the weight you’re at when the doctor’s office weighed you at their approval so you’re good if the surgeon’s office isn’t planning on calling you back in for any reason. As long as you’re over the surgeon’s required minimum to do the surgery it won’t matter. I’d call your insurance company to confirm.
  15. Hi! My gastric bypass is scheduled for 4/26. We’re surgery twins!
  16. Happy birthday! You got the best present of all! ?

  19. I’m having the same procedure that my dad had 17 years ago only I’m a lot smaller than he was. I know it needs to be a lifestyle change or else I’ll gain it back like he did. ? Praying for strength
  20. Hey! I’m in South Alabama/gulf coast. Congrats on your loss and even more impressively your 4 year maintenance!
  21. Welcome! I’m with you on the weight loss/re-gain game. Hopefully the surgery can help with the appetite issue so that we can focus on the emotional eating aspect!
  22. Hey Angela! I’m April 26th. The wait is brutal. I’ll be your buddy! What part of FL are you in? I’m on the gulf coast.
