  1. I was banded on Oct. 27 and by that Friday (Halloween) I was eating mashed potatoes because I was so hungry. I have been on solids pretty much since Halloween. I have lost a total of 13 lbs, but I am eating low carb/low fat and high protein. I am like most of you all, I don't feel my band but when I hiccup, I know it's there! I go for my first fill on Dec. 9th and I can't wait! I am like you guys, about 2 1/2, 3 hours after eating lunch, I'm hungry again.
  2. I hear that! I started the growling on Friday and I started to notice that I get hungry way to fast and to the point of if I don't get something to eat soon I am going to be sick. So, I guess I really can't tell the difference between true hunger or grumbling!
  3. OH my JL, that's not good! I know what you mean though about being dizzy. I have had some spells here lately. Laughter is always the best medicine! I'm with you on the "sexy" part. I have a great husband and he has really been behind me with this. It helps out when you have a support system at home.
  4. I feel like im in the same boat here. I was banded on 10/27 and have only lost 7 lbs, but I told my dr. on Monday that I was starving. I have started eating high protein foods like fish and small amounts of chicken. I am just staying hungry, but I am eating small amounts of everything. Any suggestions? I go for my first fill 12/9
  5. Congrats thicknthin! I too was banded on Oct 27th, but I went to St. Vincent's East. I have been SO hungry lately though. How are things going with you so far?
  6. I was banded on Oct. 27th, and yesterday was my first day back to work. I am having muscle cramps around my port area. I wonder why? I haven't been cleared to exercise yet, but I have been walking. Maybe it goes away with time.
  7. Hi there! I was banded on Monday the 27th. How are you feeling? I go to get my staples out today and I tell you what, I'm ready! I go back to work tomorrow, so I don't want to be too sore. Hope your doing great~! Congrats! April:thumbup:
  8. I'm starting to get nervous you guys! Say a HUGE prayer for those of us going in today! Will post later on.... April
  9. You know, I was wondering the exact same thing. My girls are 16, 11, 9, 6, & 4. I have NEVER been any smaller than an 18 and I am praying and wishing that I get down there again. My 11 yr old said that she is afraid that I won't look the same or be the same "mom". I told her that no matter how much weight I loose, my disposition (sp?) will not change. I love them all the same and once I loose some weight, I will be able to take them to more places and do more things with them. I think your babies will react just fine to the change. They will see how good you are feeling and more than likely the confidence change too. Good luck! April
  10. I see that a great deal of folks on here use the Unjury. Can anyone tell me what is so good about them? What makes them better than regular Whey protein? Just wondering...I go for my nutrition class on Wednesday so I was kinda looking for a better (not necessarily) cheaper alternative. Thank you guys~~
  11. 21 more days for me! and I am already nervous!!!
  12. I am having mine on a Monday and going back the following Monday. I am just taking my 1 week vacation time to recover. I was told to give yourself at least a week to bounce back.
  13. Congrats to all of you out there with up coming dates! My surgery is on 10/27 and I tell you what...My DH started "acting" out and telling me that I just needed to "exercise my elbows more" by pushing back from the table. So, I took his advise and started eating smaller portions. Guess what? I gained 5 lbs! SO ~ I started going to see the PCP about the surgery. I'm like most of you guys, I started out over a year ago and I have finally made it! Lots of love and prayers for you guys that are having your surgery today and on Monday. Take care of yourself! April
  14. Hi there and welcome! I am in Alabama too! Where do you live? I'm like you also, I am doing this for my health but I would love to wear jeans in the teens not twenties!
  15. Does it really do that? The game tells you that you are "obese" ~ that's horrible! Could you imagine a little kid hearing that! My daughter would flip!
  16. I have a scale, but it is not my friend! I am hoping that in the future it will be!! I think I am going to go with the Realize band ~ I really like the design and the support program it comes with.
  17. You know what, I'm really lucky. No one has told me to start a pre-op diet. I feel for you guys. I told my husband I wanted a steak dinner for my "last meal" before my surgery on the 27th. Sounds funny huh?
  18. Hi and welcome to LBT! My band date is October 27th and I am getting really excited. I didn't even know about weight loss surgery until 2 years ago and I made up my mind then, but at that time our insurance didn't cover it. SO ~ as of April of 2007 they started to cover gastric banding and here I am! I am looking forward to starting a new life! Good Luck on your journey!!
  19. Hi Bradley18! It's nice to meet you! I have not heard of NASH before, and I'm sorry you have it. I bet once you have your surgery and loose the weight you will feel 100% better. My surgery date is October 27th and I am doing it because my PCP pushed me for it. I'm only 33 though, I bet you will feel like a kid again (no offense)
  20. It's really nice to meet you! I am getting ready to have my surgery on October 27th and like you I'm at my highest - 250. I have been overweight my whole life and I'm ready to end it. I want to start feeling "normal" (whatever that means huh). I want to be able to go to Wal Mart and pick up jeans in the teen's not 20's! I think you will find this group - no matter what state you are in - will lift you up and encourage you. Remember you did this for yourself and no one else. You did this surgery to make yourself feel and look better ~ you will be fine! Keep you chin up and pray!! Good luck~~~ April~~~
  21. I think I will go to that one too. My surgery has been scheduled for October 27th and I am so excited!
  22. Oh I bet! Kinda like when your pregnant...everyone wants to pat your tummy!
  23. I can't wait until I can show my scars! I bet you are proud huh? LOL...Great...I will see you guys tomorrow!!
