I finally used the CPAP for the first time after getting it last week. It was very simple to set up. I didn’t love it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ One if the dogs stared at me for a very long time when I put on the mask.
DH was already asleep when I got the thing hooked up, but he mentioned that he he didn’t hear me snoring the way he typically does.
I wore it while playing candy crush before I went to sleep and removed it after 4 hours and some minutes.

Hi! Happy to say that after almost 2 years of following in a weight loss medicine clinic and doing preop testing (slowed down by COVID) with this goal in mind I FINALLY have my surgery date of June 1!! Preop diet of 4 shakes and 1 meat/veg meal starts 2 weeks prior. Happy to find a forum of friends to talk with.

this article from Cedars-Sinai hospital in LA says there's little scientific evidence that these work. Sounds like a big profit maker for these places.

I would ask the IV store. Mine helped me a lot and suggested I get the big hydration bag. I started the IV 1 or 2 weeks after surgery. I also did acupuncture for healing.

Getting in my fluids has been a real struggle since surgery. Protein has been easy but fluids are hard lol.

Sleeved on 12/22/2021. I've done several IV's since my surgery. Love them but the place near me is way more expensive than yours and I can't afford to do them as much as I would like. I wish I had one of your places where I live. I always get the "Myers" with add on glutathione. It's your Triple Immunity RX.

I wouldn’t. My aunt did that and had some issues and was told it’s BECAUSE she wasn’t getting enough fluids with it. Now that she’s getting enough she swears by it that she feels better but immediately post op so many people struggle to get enough fluids that I would wait until drinking enough fluids at least and even still I would ask a doctor if it was really better than the Multivitamin as to not waste my money. Another note. If anyone IS dehydrated post surgery. Don’t wait until it’s so bad you need to go to the ER. My doctor arranged from me to get an IV as an outpatient and it was no big deal. I was so worried about it and was so glad she arranged it for me. I felt so much better afterwards.

I have a 21 day pre-op that starts on June 1, but I'm using the month of May to get used to tracking foods again. Putting things on scales, looking at macros, all the fun stuff. I'm also starting to let go of the foods that I won't carry forward with me. I've had my last Pasta meal, eaten my last ice cream, etc. I know people can still be successful with those items in their diets, but that's not my story. I recognize the addiction I have to carbs/sugars and it's all or nothing.

Me and my wife will be having the Sleeve with Dr. Sandy June 16th. We went through Lighter Dream and they've been awesome so far.

I’m scheduled for my vertical sleeve on June 7th at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans 🥳
Because my BMI is 35, I only have to do 1 week liquid diet prior to my surgery date. Then 2 weeks liquid diet, followed by week 2-4 puréed diet, 1-2 month post op is soft foods, then 3 months post op is solid foods.

Yes.. 3 weeks sounds crazy to me too.. but if I dont do it.. no surgery.. its standard here in Canada.. most do Optifast.. my only concern is how its going to taste!.. lol.. not worried about the surgery.. I'm so ready for it!.. my weight has been up and down my whole life.. I can't seem to stay down.. so I need this.. my body needs this.. everything is starting to ache.. I also need a knee replacement too.. need to just stay positive..think of all the great things that comes from this.. for me its feeling better, live longer, do more things with my kids, not be the fattest one in the room, not worry about seating, and being able to buy clothing everywhere!
I am a stay at home mom.. no need to worry about work.. I also don't drink coffee.. lol.. in fact, Canadas program starts by ween everyone off caffeine before surgery so it's not a problem after surgery.. need to be 2 months clean.. chocolate WAS my biggest hurdle.. but I'm ok now.. i think... lolol

I had a rough couple of months but do not regret it in the slightest. I paid for it myself and consider it worth every penny. Even though I am only beginning my journey, my fitness is way beyond where I thought I could ever be again. My Diabetes has gone, my BP is normal and I do not get up in the night to pee. Life is so good

I just my date too.. June 14th.. Doctor wants all patients to drink Optifast for 3 weeks before surgery.. its prescription only.. makes you lose fat around your liver and other organs fast.. safer surgery.. better recovery...

Scheduled for June 16th. I'm feeling nervous about the 2-week pre-op diet. I'm returning to the office and a little worried about being around others without caffeine and being hangry. 😅 Anything you'll are worried about? How much time do you'll plan to take off from work?

My surgery is tentatively early June! I’m so excited!! My pre-op and post-op instructions are very similar to yours. We just talked over it but my next appointment he will be giving me all the paperwork and submitting to my insurance for final approval.
