  1. Hi Babbs! I'm new here, too. Since I have less than 100 lbs to lose now, I thought I'd pop in here. It's so great to be able to share information with others that are going through the same things! I have learned a lot by reading the threads on this site. Cindy
  2. Welcome to NC! I'm about 1.5 - 2 hours west of you, so I can't help. But I wanted to wish you good luck.
  3. Did Dr. Gary Robinson do anyone else's surgery on here? I've been to one support group meeting at Davis Regional Medical Center since my surgery and there were some great ladies there. I'm hoping some of you visit this board. I've gotten a lot of helpful information by reading these posts!
  4. *Looking hot in my bathing suit next summer-- hopefully 2-piece! *Being able to wear shorts without the horrible ride-ups in between the legs! *Shopping in the regular size area instead of PLUS. *High Heels w/ out pain. *Sexier Nighties/Underwear *Belts
  5. I'd stay away from the bones. LOL I've only had one fill so far and it really made a huge difference. I haven't tried eating pickles or popcorn. But I did try a few bites of a steak biscuit from Bojangles (minus the top of the biscuit) and thought I would die! I'm loving my band overall, though!
  6. No...I haven't started an excercise program, yet. But I need to! I keep letting things get in my way...the rush of the Holiday season, being busy with housework when I get home from work, etc... I have a great place to walk at work. My plan is to eat my lunch then go out in the warehouse and walk. Best of luck to you! Cindy
  7. So far so good!!! No regrets. I'm loving seeing the scales actually move in the right direction now!
  8. I can tell a HUGE difference since my first fill. I had it done the week after Thanksgiving and now I eat a lot less. I never got to that "elephant sitting on my chest" feeling before the fill. I try not to eat too much because I don't like that feeling at all.:cursing: I dropped 5 lbs the week of the first fill! The actual fill was not painful, it was just a little strange-feeling. The dr. had me sit up in the bed and drink some Water while the needle was still in me...that made me feel a little sick. Oh...and he was in a good mood because he came down the hospital hall singing "I'm in The Mood for Love". :huh2:
  9. Jules - I can totally relate about the whole WW thing. I tried WW for years before deciding to have the surgery and have had an experience of being "shunned" by the WW crowd. I'm so happy I had the surgery! :huh2:
  10. Thanks everyone! Turns out I really had nothing to be worried about. Everything with my surgery went wonderfully!! I'm doing great and have lost 33.5 lbs so far. My surgery was Oct. 6 at Davis Hospital in Statesville. I've been to my first support group meeting there and it was very helpful. I've also had my first fill and BOY did things change for me after that! For the good...but wow, what a difference in the amount of food I can eat.:huh2: I look forward to getting to know all of you!
  11. I don't know why my signature did not show above, but I live in Mocksville and work in Hickory. It's so good to see that another one of Dr. Robinson's (Davis Regional Medical Center, Statesville) patients are on here! My surgery was on October 6 and I have had no complications at all. I'm loving it! And I love being 33.5 pounds down, too!
  12. I'm from Mocksville and had my surgery October 6, 2008 at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville - Dr. Robinson. I love my new band!!!
  13. Hi! I'm from Mocksville, NC which is in between Winston-Salem and Statesville.
  14. I can tell it's time for my fill. I'm waiting on the appointment time right now. I have been a lot more hungry this week. The nurse said it's because my swelling from surgery has gone down, therefore making my band more loose. It's a relief to hear and read that it's not that bad.:tongue2:
  15. YAY!!! I just had my surgery last Monday (Oct. 6) and I'm doing good. I was back at work for 1/2 day on Thursday! I've already lost 19 lbs including the pre-op diet. Good luck to you! I'm from NC, too! I had my surgery at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville.
  16. I'm October 6! ONE week from tomorrow! YAY! And I will survive this liquid diet. I will.
  17. One more week for me for this liquid diet thing! My surgery is one week away. My blender and I have become very good friends! I've added sugar free jello pudding powder to my protein shakes...not sure if this is really "allowed", but it does make them taste better.
  18. I'm OCTOBER 6! I'm getting so excited!!!!!
  19. Does your dr. require the pre-op liquid diet? Are you on it now? Mine required a 4-week one! I wouldn't want to be on a cruise and on a liquid diet....so I was just wondering. LOL:wink2: Have a great time!!! (Oct. 6 is my surgery day.)
  20. I have told practically everyone I know! I have a big mouth. LOL I, too need all the support I can get! :-)
  21. Enjoy your concert! I'm on Oct. 6---right behind ya! :tongue2:
  22. My date is October 6, too!!! I just found out today! YAY!!! So....Monday I start the 4 week pre-op diet of liquid, Liquid, Small Meal 2 weeks; then Liquid, Liquid, Liquid for the next 2 weeks. I can do this!
  23. Let's just see if this worked....
  24. Exciting!! I'm waiting on my insurance.....I'm hoping my date will be 10/13.
