Excited about Support Group Meeting!
I'm attending my second LapBand Support Group meeting tomorrow after work. I LOVE these things! It is so exciting to actually get to spend time in person with others that are going through the same experiences and being able to share information! I love this site, but actually meeting others in person is even better.

Day Surgery?
My surgery was at around 7:00 am on a Monday and I had to spend the night in the hospital. The next morning, I had to drink some really nasty stuff and have an X-Ray before I could come home. It was early, though.

Hey All.
Best of luck to you Michelle! Hopefully your hubby will come around and be more supportive, but you can do this. Let us know how your surgery goes. I have no regrets. I love my band!

Family Photos
Great photos!!! Congratulations! Okay...here's my "thing" -- I go with my BFF's to the beach in June every year. This year I will wear a tankini and look HOT. Not because I want to find a man because I already have one (LOL), but just because I want to look good for myself.

Recently Banded and Can't Stop Vomiting . . .
I'm so sorry you are going through this! I didn't experience this -- My surgery was in October and I haven't puked at all. I hope they can give you relief at the Dr. office today!
-
How many times did you have to see a shrink?
Just once for a basic psych exam and clearance.
-
Thinking about backing out
I had some of those "what am I doing?" moments before I had the surgery. But I can honestly say that I have not regretted it once. I have not had any major problems...I haven't experienced the major gas pains, I haven't puked at all, and I feel great! Since my first fill, I have experienced that "I can't eat another bite" feeling a couple of times and it's not pleasant, but it's a tool to help me not eat as much. That's what I need! I wish you all the best and look forward to hearing your updates! Cindy

My Life changed in August, 2008
Attending a seminar would be the best thing for you. I know I had to watch a 45-min video that went into great detail. And then the surgeon came in and answered questions. It helped me a lot! And the fact that his nurse that was leading the meeting had just had the procedure done about 4 months prior helped me even more. I wanted to ask HER questions instead of the surgeon.

Newbie to Board
Welcome! I hope all goes well and that you hear something soon.
-
Lap-Band, the easy way out.
I think Jodi hit the nail on the head! I totally agree with that statement.
-
SO proud of ME!!
Way to go!!! I handled the holidays pretty well, too! This band is awesome!
-
I miss Sushi.... :(
I miss it, too! I'm scared to try it because of the rice, though. I haven't eaten any form of rice since my surgery.
-
My name is Sherry, I am obese, I am ready for a change.
I have United Healthcare and I had to fill out a huge packet of information -- 5 year history. With the help of my primary care physician and the nurse at the surgeon's office, we got it all completed. It was well worth the time and effort. I love my band!

My Life changed in August, 2008
Welcome Ella! How are you doing since your surgery? How much have you lost? I feel great and can definitely say that my Lap Band changed my life as well. Hope to hear more from you.

I have just been banded
Welcome! Good luck with your band.

Getting noticed
My man finally noticed last night. He commented out of the blue that I was getting "skinnier". Made me feel so good!

NSV - Non-scale Victories
I just HAD to tell you guys about my NSV last night. My boyfriend has not said a whole lot about my weight loss other than to say that my boobs are shrinking. Well, out of the blue last night he said, "You are getting skinnier....I can tell." It blew me away. Then I weighed this morning and saw that I had lost (after having a pretty non-productive December). I feel good today!!! Here's to a very HAPPY 2009!!!
