Caffeine
I was never told to cut out or even cut down caffeine and I didn't. It's one of the areas where there is a massive variation between programmes.

Food Before and After Photos
Sounds amazing - thank you! Definitely making this very soon.

Thing I miss most
I'm 7 months out and I don't really *miss* anything. I have now tried most things in moderation and can tolerate them fine, including bread and pasta and rice. Even now there are days when I do not get enough fluids in though because I can't drink for a long time after eating. I can drink right beforehand though - I just get hungry and forget. And I have drunk sparkling water and sodas (and wine) from about 6 weeks post op - I was never told to avoid those.

Fave Meals
I cook from scratch for my family every day so I just pureed whatever they were having with extra sauce/gravy. My absolute fave from that period was a roast lamb dinner - loads of lamb, some veg, some gravy. Sooooo tasty I still remember it after the bland liquids/shakes phases.

November Surgery Buddies!!!
Just checking in again. 7 months for me today. Total loss of 95lbs - 25 pre-op and 70 (5st) in the 7 months since surgery. Brain is still trying to catch up with body, LOL. BMI is 26.7 and weight 181lbs. All good, sticking to the plan pretty much the same as the last few months. Bad diet day today for some reason, culminating in white bread toast for supper (now sitting in my stomach like a ball of lead). Hoping to lose a bit more before commencing maintenance - 21lbs actually, so need to stop with the toast crap!
-
Shocked? Yes I am
Brilliant news @summerseeker!!!! I'm a week ahead of you - 7 months post op today actually - but a few pounds behind. Hopefully I'll join you soon.

9 days post-op
Yeah, I agree with everyone else, you're doing *really* well. Don't tie yourself to a particular expectation and don't get hung up on a particular rate of weight loss - it's so variable. I would say stick to the rules and the surgery will allow you to lose weight. Good luck xx

Over 2 month pre-op diet!?! Anyone else?
My programme only stipulated a pre-op liver-shrinking diet for 2 weeks. However, my first date for surgery got cancelled - literally the night before, so I kept on the diet (more or less) for another 6 weeks until I finally got relisted. I ended up losing 25lbs before I had my surgery and boy am I glad now that I did, because otherwise I would still have had those to lose! Best of luck with your weight loss journey and keep posting here - there is so much support and a wealth of experience.

Eating carbs (pasta, rice, or bread )
I had my first sushi yesterday at almost exactly 7 months post op and it was absolutely lush. Small amount = biiiig happy.

Maybe I was stalled..
Bonus! Enjoy - really encouraging to hear that that can happen.

Food Before and After Photos
OMG that looks and sounds absolutely lush

How to get back on track :(
Absolutely what @summerseekerhas said. You can re-jig your intake and lose weight again if you go protein first at every meal and track *everything*. When you say 'body compensated' do you mean that you didn't like the weight you landed on after your surgery and found ways to eat around it? Or that that was your lowest weight and then even sticking to your programme you regained that much? And when you say 'but now I am up to...' are you saying that you regained that much whilst still being vigilant, or that you totally relaxed the rules? Sorry I'm very black and white - need more detail!!

Robotic?
I wasn't given this option. Sounds like if the surgeon is still ultimately in control of the procedure but it minimises the amount of rummaging in your insides that's required then it can only be a good thing. Best of luck for tomorrow OP!

MONTHLY WEIGH IN 6 WEEKS POST OP
Nice spreadsheet. Blimey that's a rapid loss! Well done you. Enjoy! My loss has been a steady 2lbs a week for many months. It speeds up and slows down. Have never approached anything like yours

Eating carbs (pasta, rice, or bread )
That's really good to hear from someone as far out as you Kris

November Surgery Buddies!!!
Honestly - having studied it scientifically as best I can, I think that stalls just happen randomly and then just end - also randomly. They're part of all significant weight loss journeys. Upping or downing: calories; protein; water; exercise (including type or intensity of exercise) might coincide with a renewed loss but it's not likely to be the cause. Keep doing what you're doing and you will keep losing weight until you're done. Yes, more slowly and then MUCH more slowly, as you approach goal. I've had the same calorie intake for the last 4 months, and more or less the same level of exercise. I'm losing approx 2lbs per week but not at all in a linear fashion. Average it all out, keep on keeping on, and you'll be fine. You'll lose until you stop losing. You have done amazingly well @DaisyAndSunshine

Straws
Ahahaha Summerseeker - you and I have both lost exactly 95lbs and both had our surgery last November. How cool is that?
-
Straws
Have used straws for months with no issues at all. I wasn't told to avoid them

My First Binge :(
Shift work is the absolute devil - do you do it all the time? Anyway - one day's slip up means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the grand scheme of things @SleeverSk Just get back on the horse tomorrow. You've learned something (that slider foods do slide down REALLY nicely) and you will use that moving forwards until you reach goal - the goal that YOU want to reach. We all have better days and worse days - look at what you have achieved over the last 10 months - unbelievable.

November Surgery Buddies!!!
Oh nice to see these updates! Now 6.75 months post-op, 13st 0lbs and dying to see 12 something on the scale for the first time in many years. Still on 1000-1200 calories a day and still walking for exercise. I focus more on speed than distance (exercise more than activity). Still losing pretty much 2lbs every week, allowing for the odd stall. Life at 182lbs is GOOD.
-
Calories per day
6.75 months post op and I eat 1000ish calories on weekdays and 1200ish at weekends (alcohol). I still track every bite that goes into my mouth I know lots of people don't or don't have to. I have lost approximately 2lbs per week since my surgery, give or take.
-
Things I learned today…
Yeah I come from a large family of mostly thin people and nobody does that! Horses for courses!
-
Stall and brain
I feel your pain. As everyone else has said, weight loss definitely slows the more you lose. Sounds like you've recognised that your body dysmorphia is a big issue and feeding into your concern, so I agree that you need to address that asap. Is there any way you can correct your stats in your side bar as they're not correct and they would help people to help you!

Anyone Tried to Do the Pre-Op Liquid Diet Before Its Time?
I did it by accident because my first date for surgery was cancelled and I didn't know when I would be re-listed. I kind of ended up on it for 2 months, with the odd proper meal when I couldn't bear it any longer, thinking 'the minute I stop they'll give me another date'! Ended up losing 25lbs, which was a nice head start but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it! Good luck if you do give it a go.

finally in the 60's
Yay - bet you're a very happy sleever! All the milestones on the way down are good. I'm waiting to see 12st SOMETHING for the first time in over a decade - soon....
