  1. I can't even imagine that..........but I guess I am nearly half-way there, although my weight loss has been only 2 pounds this week:cry , that makes me sad as I am being very good, can't weight to be allowed to exercise. So what shall I do for my 20kg loss, I wanna have a goal with a pressie for me like you guys now!!! I shall.............treat myself to a massage and facial..........mmmmm that will be nice. I hope to be at 90 kgs in 2 months time...... My other goal in the next two months is to learn to love the gym again!!!!:clap2: Good thread Efficka!!!!! XXAmourette!
  2. Hi All, Efficka and I have started 2 new threads........mine is a practice to see if this will go well or not. Use the search engine for April Bandits. they are both listed there Bye All!!!!!!
  3. So well here goes the first thread for us all. Three questions 1- What stage of eating are you at now? :biggrin1: Me I am at liquids but more mushier, fuller liquids, been trying a few things like avocado and blended black Beans, go to mushies on Wednesday:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: 2- What's your fave food at this stage of your diet?:biggrin1: Mine is blended black beans and a dash of blended avocado, also pumpkin Soup, yummy, I am getting good at making my own...........even my friends children liked it, I think the secret is to add a rasher of bacon. 3- What food are you missing the most since you got banded?:biggrin1: It would have to be curries with chicken and fish and sushi for me..........hope they will agree with me later......... Ok lets see how this practice thread goes for us  Love from Amourette:hungry: :hungry: :hungry:
  4. Hi there, congratulations on your banding..........I am on week 3 of the liquids and I have been making home-made soup........they are really easy, and I am not the best cook so even I can do them.........yesterday was bacon and pumpkin soup, and today is curried cauliflower.........last week I made chicken soup with a whole chicken simmered in stock and vegies last week, then pulled the chicken out, pulled the meat off and blended it back with the stock after I had skimmed the fat off the stock. I also made the effort to drag out my juice blender.............hasn't been used in ages hehehe, my faves are carrot, apple and pineapple........and celery, carrot and apple. Hope this helps a bit Amourette:clap2: :clap2:
  5. Efficka darling, you only had surgery 10 days ago, 7 1/2 lbs is great, times that by 3 and you could be losing a lot for the month at that rate. Get out your patience pill, hehehhee!!! I don't think I have lost that much................especially in this last week, oh well, Love from Amourette
  6. Oh and I like Ellen too..........that has just started down here!!
  7. Hi all, I am down in New Zealand and it looks like our programming follows yours a lot, tonite Lost was on, now Invasion is on and Bones is on a competing channel..........we are a few weeks behind you with American Idol, I always look on the internet to see who has gone hehehe!!!! My faves are- Scrubs Two and a Half Men Six Feet Under Little Britain (english) Footballer's Wives (english, 10 times raunchier than DH, hehehe) America's Next Top Model Supernanny This is all I can think of at the moment, good thread though! 10. Hey guys you are going to feel it in the first week or so after surgery.....................I wish I had rested more in the first week now, I was sleeping everyafternoon, even more sometimes...........This is the end ofmy 2nd week and I have so much more energy even though being on liquid diet.............are you guys getting enough protein, apparently they say you should take your protein first..............maybe then have soup later in the afternoon........ Please hang in there, you have all (well we all), have done the right thing, and it is only going to get better.............would your doctors perhaps give you an appetite suppresant to get you thru' these first few days. Oh also some advice, I just kept myself soooo busy reading and watching DVD's, phoning people and e-mailing so I didn't have to think about food! Good luck!!!!!!! YOu do have our sympathy Love Amourette:girl_hug: :clap2:
  11. Great photo Laura, I hope I will do as well as you!
  12. I would be interested to know this answer also...............especially as the with the lapband you should be able to eat/drink most things but now in moderation..........................I was told nothing was forbidden...............also anyone drink champagne? I want to have a glass in 2 weeks for mom's b-day but not sure what it will do.............. Thanx all!!!!
  13. Of course we are here, how are you feeling so far after surgery? So gang!! What are we going to do now.........I think we are waiting to hear from our last victim from the 28th to report back in, any ideas how we should manage our thread...............I sometimes find it hard scrolling back and forth thru' the messages to find certain things that people said. We could start other threads like 'April Bandits 2006 Food Ideas/thread', or 'April Bandits 2006 Weightloss confessions' and 'April 2006 bandit problems'. So we could have say 3 threads just going for us.............or does anyone know how to do a spreadsheet or something to mark our progress, or anyone got other ideas.....................? Or is everyone happy just continuing this long thread? Just a thought! Hugs from Amourette!
  14. Soooo glad to see you back Efficka...............I had been wondering about you and noticed you hadn't written yet...............interesting to see your photo.............my stitches were inside so I don't have any on the outside thankfully..................is someone looking after you.................???!!! Do you still have that wheel in the tree.................hehehe!????? Love from Amourette
  15. HI Patti welcome, you probably already know us really well hehehe!!! Jeepergurrl, my doctor won't allow me to drink soup from cans, pouches, tetra-paks or instant, due to most not being healthy, even the 98% fat free ones he says have too much sugar/calories,additives and sodium. that is why it has been so hard for me to find stuff.
  16. Hey everyone I am back from my first post-op surgeons appointment.......................bandages off and not looking too bad. One more week of liquids then thicker liquids like yoghurt etc for a week then mushies. But yippee :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: I have lost 20.3 pounds (9.2kg) since pre-op diet started........am soooo happy as was not going to even bother weighing myself as seemed to early and pointless but couldn't resist, I think 8 or 9 pounds in last 8 days..........my current trousers are loose. This has given me inspiration. I don't see the doc for a month now. Also there is a great thread started by k@t about liquid stage ideas, worth checking out. Bonsoir all..................... Fiona XXX:D
  17. Just a quick word on vomiting, as you probably know from this thread I suffered the worst 5 hour non-stop vomiting ever...............never had this happen in my life ever and never hope to have it again, I thought I was dying, well dying seemed the easier option at the time. My surgeon said despite all this it would take months of vomiting to slip the band ( and I was retching badly). I now have some anti-nausea tablets and I would recommend you all get some and have them on hand just in case. I wasn't prepared and it cost me a $300 doctor visit at 2am in the morning! Cheers Amourette!
  18. Danielle, I have been having bad back ache as well,I thought maybe it might be from not being able to stand too straight as my tummy is still a bit tight, but I am going to ask the surgeon when I have my one week checkup tomorow!!! Byeeee all............... BTW...............I dusted off my juicer and made fresh apple juice today, it is sooooooo yummy, I am excited about juicing something else tomorrow hehehe,I think I have found a new hobby!!!!!!! YOu guys should try this apple juice though..............yummy!!!! Oh and boiling a chicken for chicken soup right now...............oh I have been really domestic today, oh and drove for the first time today also............. Hugs to you all Amourette aka Fiona XXXX:girl_hug: :clap2:
  19. I love yourname!!! I am one week postbanding and also the same as you, I am really struggling to get the liquids down, not the water bit, just the shakes and soup..............I can't help feeling that such little nutrients can't be very good for you. Nice not to be hungry, but just concerned I am not getting enough in me...........doesn't the body stop losing weight when you eat too little and your metabolism go down??? Good luck with things Amourette!!!
  20. Just a little update from me here in New Zealand, wow, today was my 1 week band anniversary.........I have been a little sore but now noticing more movement in my tummy, I haven't been able to think about holding it in at all, but now I can a bit, yipeee!!!! I have to be honest, I had two really bad turns this week, one required a doctor to come to the house because I couldn't stop violently vomiting........it seems I may have had to much to drink (whoops I mean my liquids, not the old bottle hehehe). wow, what a learning experience, I now find out I am already inflated, is everyone else, so the surgeon thought I might need a deflate (ALREADY???) but I have coped better the last day or two, I never want to experience that again, I thought I was dying.........so did my mum!!!:omg: :cry I have been to the shops a couple of times, but can't last more than 2 hours.......... Where are all those recipes for liquids for me, hehehe!!! No-one has replied, does anyone know some good soups with chicken or fish etc..........relatively clear ones, Love and hugs to you all, Ceperano and Alison should be checking back in with us soon Amourette!!!!:clap2: PS have my one week check up on Thursday!!!
  21. Good luck Bostongurl!!! Looking forward to hearing from you when you get back!!! Alison are you still there?!
  22. Yippee,it is finally time!!!! Can't believe next time we talk to you it will be all done!!! You are in our thoughts and I will be checking to see when you post next!!! So you go girl, you have been waiting a long time for this surgery!!!! Lots of hugs and love and wishes Fiona aka amourette!!!:clap2:
  23. Hello everyone, Fiona here! I had my surgery last Tuesday and everything has been going pretty great until a nasty bout of vomiting and retching Saturday nite. It just came on suddenly, I hadn't done anything different, had my soup around 6.30 and at 9pm started to feel funny. Began vomiting in 20 min intervals although nothing was coming up. Phoned doctor 2 hours later at home and he said it could be a touch of 'gastro' sorry don/'t know the full word here, and to try some anti-nausea or travel sickness pills...........which I didn't have. Fast forward 2 hours and I am leaning over the toilet retching non-stop, I was so scared, we had to call a doctor out to the house ($$$$$$) cause I was too ill to get into the car to go to the 24 hour clinic 30mins away. The doctor who isn't my surgeon but just a general doctor gave me an anti-nausea injection and I finally managed to lie back into bed after 45 mins. This was the worst ex[perience of my life...............much worse than the surgery, I never wish to experience this again, I thought I was dying! Any thoughts on why this could happen, or anyone experienced anything similar. Like I say, up till then I was feeling great, and the next day after I felt normal again...............!!! Much appreciated for any insight! Happy band journeys Regards Amourette!!:nervous :omg:
  24. Please don't be upset, you are in our thoughts and we can't wait to hear back from you afterwards to see how you are..........remember how we missed you last time when we didn't hear back from you for a couple of days. Anyway I was the baby who cried on the OR table, can't do much worse than that...........I don't want you stealing my crown hehehe!!! Maybe you have already left but I found it helped to read posts on here about the joy people had got from being banded and all the things that they didn't miss, I even took my list of reasons for wanting to do this to the hospital with me, it gave me strength.....shame about your hubby, is he always like that with these kinds of things!!!! Write soon, we are waiting to hear from you Lots of love, and wishes Fiona aka amourette!!!
  25. Hi all, I am feeling a lot better today, I even managed to snooze on my side this morning, which felt wonderful. I am going to go on a small outing to shops soon, nothing big. I noticed last night that we only have about 7 in the group left to be banded now...............wow, our month of April hasn't long left. Good luck to you Yoda tomorrow, you'll do great, and remember we are all there with you...............hmmmmmmmmmmm.............hope you have a large room, hehehehe! So now I need some ideas for my liquids that can go up a straw from you veterans of the month. I have soup, thin smoothie of yoghurt, fruit and milk, protein shake..............um here I kinda run out of ideas...........!!! Thanx, Amourette!!
