The reason I am creating this thread is solely for support. I know by 1st hand how intimidating this process can be. With the mere thought of should ldl do it? I can tell you that I was not a walk in the ballpark. But I am so happy I took this decision. Today I am 5 days RNY AND hiatal hernia repair post-op. I feel fatigued, yet happy. Sore, yet excited. I can use many more adjectives. Please share and ask.

I'm on day 3 of my 2 week liquid pre-op diet before the sleeve. Hunger hasn't been too bad though it's been emotionally much rougher than I realized. But, I am so done with Protein Shakes, I feel like if I drink another one I'll puke. So my question is, how important is the Protein at this stage if it's just to shrink my liver? Wouldn't just eating nothing also work? Because at this point that sounds like a better alternative.

Today - almost 18 months out - I met my first goal: over 200 lbs lost, and joining the double digits club (in kg... of course 🙂 ).
99 kilos today (218 lbs), lost 204 lbs from my top weight. Feeling good!

Friends, it's a (life) long process, hang in there and have fun with it. Never mind the small ups and downs, look for the trends.

I had my surgery on November 1st and it’s been very gassy. Definitely looking forward to the weeks ahead

yes, i wasnt aware it was robotic till i was settled in and nurse told me. I was impressed. Im ok with it since pain is minimum

Congratulations on your journey to a healthier life. I had terrible asthma due to my long surgery and anesthesia (6hrs). I had to go back to the ER after going home because it was getting worse and couldn’t use steroids (slows healing). Then the team was worried it was a blood clot. Eventually the WL team realized it truly was asthma due to anesthesia and gave me a shot of Vitamin A and a half dose shot of steroids. If you still have a harder time breathing, say something while still in the hospital. Ask about Vitamin A. Truly best wishes to you on your journey!

Congratulations, you have done amazing. I dont know what to think about robotic surgeons. Its a bit like driverless trains and pilotless airplanes. If I were having that procedure, I dont want to know until after the event. Keep walking and everything will improve.

Hi guys

I’m five days post op and I caved and ate half a cookie. I feel horrible but I’ve kept it down fine and not had any dumping or pain. What does this mean? I can take Water a d yogurt and the cookie went down fine.

Im so nervous im 18 days away from my surgery date.

My surgery is Nov.3 I just found out 3 days ago because it got bumped up because of a opening. I’m nervous because it’s not many days to do the liver shrinking diet

Hi. I had my gastric bypass July 2019 and also struggling. I’m older than you (62) and I have gained back 30 pounds after losing 140 pounds. It can be overwhelming.

I'm one year sleeve to RNY conversion for severe GERD. Haven't had an episode of reflux since surgery. I've lost 60 lbs. since RNY and I feel great. Like elp93 mentioned, I also experience dumping (not as bad as I did early on), but it is a GREAT MOTIVATOR to limit dumping triggers like too much sweet, fats and overeating in general.

Thanks for all the comments. The endoscopy revealed that the sleeve was dilatated so I could either be resleeved or convert to bypass. After speaking with my doctor he recommended the bypass because of my GERD, and I took his advice. My surgery is scheduled for 11/17 and I'm excited to restart this journey!

My surgery is November 4 with Dr. Fok Russell through Medicalmex in Tijuana. I live in Missouri and wish I could've had it here but my insurance didn't cover.

I am on liquid Tylenol 🤢 I have been walking a lot still trying to drink baby sips and even drove down the block ( big mistake lol I won't be doing that again for a week or so) . I am hoping it gets a little better. I did make the Protein Shake and was able to easily take 4-5 sips, 1 every 10 minutes . Today I'll try again . It's been so rough !
