Any April 2021 surgeries?!
I hear everyone talking about bone broth on here but I’ve been grossed out by the name. What does it taste like?

June Surgeries
Good luck to all the upcoming surgeries.

What should I aim for in terms of healthy goal weight?
You will still drop more weight on your pre op diet too. If they use surgery weight to calculate it will make that number smaller.

June Surgeries
I only slept a couple hours and I was fine. I had to wake up to drink Gatorade like 4 hours or so before surgery and I was wide awake from then on. You will be fine. You definitely don’t want to risk anything that will cause you to eat.

I suggested something similar to the nurse that called me and she said you want to try to sleep. For what that’s worth. I didn’t get much sleep and I was fine but I guess it’s best if your well rested.

Any March Surgeries?
This may sound insane and could even be completely unrelated but has anyone else had back pain in the morning like they need a new mattress since losing weight? It’s not terrible but I have been waking up a little stiff and thought it may be since the mattress doesn’t form to my body quite the same?

Lying about not getting surgery is awful
Start telling them that you are dieting and eating better now and seeing a nutritionist and exercising. Everything you are already doing so when they see you next and you’ve lost weight it won’t seem so fast.

Long hospital stay after sleeve
On the flip side of this they told me to expect two nights and I was able to drink and urinate and everything required after only one so I got to go home early.

Approval with a BMI of 32?
I have heard of people with as low as a 30 BMI getting it approved with things like joint pain. Not personally, just on chats such as this one.

Approval with a BMI of 32?
The lowest I have ever heard of insurance covering is 35 BMI with co morbid medical issues. Every insurance is different though. I do know that they give discounts to people who do private pay, though so don’t rule it out entirely if your insurance won’t cover it.

Has anyone regretted getting the surgery?
I am eleven weeks out I I have lost 40 pounds (including my preop). I am a slow loser and had very little pain post op. I am currently able to eat almost everything I did pre op. My only regret is that I waiting so long to do it. The younger you are when you do it the less excess skin you will have.

OOTD
I am so jealous. I have long torso and have never been able to wear rompers. So cute on you.

What is your 1st major milestone?
Onederland was my first milestone. 180 which is the weight I can remember that I was when I did bowling league and other social things and enjoyed them is next. I hope to get to 160 which will be a normal BMI for me but I would be thrilled with 180 if I can stay there.

Liver shrink pre op-not horrible yet
I had a similar experience. I did eat my free foods every night when I normally would have a snack but I didn’t actually feel hungry and that was quite surprising to me since any other diet I am continually starving. I also cut way back on carbs and sugar before I started the diet and I think that may be the key because anytime I eat carbs I crave them for a couple days.

No more boobs

What kind of vitamins should i buy
Well you will want chewable for a while at least and calcium should be calcium citrate. I take the bariatric advantage of the multi vitamin and calcium chews. My nutritionist had samples of them. Mostly it’s a matter of tastes as long as they meet the surgeons requirements. I did get one flavor from them I didn’t like and they took it back and processed a refund no questions asked but I’m willing to bet if you called and asked they would send you samples. Their number is 800-898-6888. If you are going to see a nutritionist or have a bariatric coordinator wait to order until after you see them because they may have a discount code if they endorse the vitamins you choose. I didn’t wait and missed out on any discounts because it only applied the first time.
