  1. I agree with future skydiver that it’s best to wait. It was 8 weeks, I think, before I was given the okay to do anything strenuous.
  2. For me it was protein I think. I say this because I never knew lack of protein could cause it until I was speaking to dr about WLS. I haven’t had any loss so far at five months out post surgery, but I have had significant loss in the past on diets where I wasn’t supplementing my protein.
  3. I just take a multivitamin and calcium, both twice a day. I had the sleeve. Some doctors require more.
  4. I am not sure about the ones pictures. I was told to take milk of magnesia.
  5. Are you doing strength training? Perhaps your gaining muscle??
  6. So far no regrets here either. I am back to eating and drinking everything I did before (except soda) in smaller quantities but I am 50 pounds down In five months. I agree with others that I only wish I had done this sooner.
  7. Such an inspiration. Congrats.
  8. Congratulations on your surgery date.
  9. I agree 100% about the crust being the best part. And I WILL be hitting you up again for that deep dish recipe when I get to maintenance phase. Let us know how the chicken crust works out. I have also had homemade cauliflower crust pizza that was pretty good. I wonder if that could be used as a pie crust.
  10. That’s a good idea for the weight loss phase. I agree with what ms. Sss said, the crust is the best part, but for now a frittata or impossible quiche is probably the better choice ? Thanks for the suggestion.
  11. Well the bariatric center at my hospital offers support groups every month and nutrition classes. I haven’t gone cause they were virtual because of covid but may go now that they’ve started up again. But I bet if you asked there for someone to be a surgery support buddy you would have a nice group of people that all want to help.
  12. I was wondering how you are supposed to weigh a sandwich or slice of pizza or something. I mean that wouldn’t be too appealing to eat after stuffing it down into a cup. Lol.
  13. Wow. Can’t believe how much cheaper than what I am getting now (bariatric advantage chews). I really hope my clinic Okays these.
  14. The only difference is that one is 400 mg and the century 21 is 600 something mg. I guess you could take three a day though. Good to know it’s in brick and mortar store if shipment is delayed or anything.
  15. I was told by the nutritionist that we should measure our food by volume post op instead of by weight. I’m not sure just how much of a difference it makes but for what it’s worth that’s what I was told to do.
  16. I needed a food scale for my pre op diet but some people can’t eat regular food at all so you may not need one depending on your doctor. A blender isn’t a bad idea if you are the type that will eat food puréed that isn’t normally eaten that way. I personally can’t do weird consistencies so I ate ricotta bake and mashed potatoes during that whole stage. I also found the disposable cups in two ounce and four ounce very handy. Other than that I already had a scale and I don’t have to pack many lunches, just snacks. I did buy some containers that have four square spots that are like sandwich container size that I use for snack if I will be out all day so I have choices. They are good for making homemade lunch ales too. This is scale and the containers. Mine were prettier colors. 17. Thanks to all the help on here I found a multivitamin that is okay with my team and is reasonably priced (ProCare). Now I need to find a cheaper calcium citrate. It can be the chews or a pill form. Suggestions please.
  18. Ms sss. I forgot to ask. Was one cup of cheese already reduced or could I reduce that further? Is a minimum amount of cheese needed to help it set?
  19. Yea, It tasted really good. It did call for almond milk and the crust didn’t call for butter, but it was still 438 calories a serving which was 1/10th of the pie. I cut it into 12 so that helped cut them a bit. I think if I ever made another quiche I would leave out the bacon though and try your crust. I honestly think it would have been better with just veggies and of course lower calories. But yes, very good. Especially after craving it so much that I made a special trip to the store for ingredients because yours looked so yummy. Lol.
  20. I though at first that this was just coincidence for you but just remembered that my walking that I do almost everyday I did for a couple months before surgery and I did so well at it during those couple months. Never did less than 30 minutes and often did more. I think it’s like a spurt of energy and hopefulness we get when we know surgery is coming.
  21. Did anyone tell you not to stick up on too much for after surgery. Some of our tastes change and a common thing for protein shakes is to taste too sweet.
  22. Yea I thought that chart seemed about right for what I’ve lost. It’s probably past due for that doctor to part ways after the way he treated you. Maybe he is just burnt out or something?? Who knows.
