  1. Congratulations on getting out of the 300’s. It’s a shame there is not a clever little name for that like onederland because it’s just as big of a deal. Yay for you!!
  2. Yikes that drain thing sounds like the pits. I wonder why some people need them and others don’t. At least they took it out right away though. I had something similar when I got a melanoma cut out. Mine was just the clear tube you mentioned, but it stayed in for a good week at least. It sounds like you are trucking along the road to recovery. You will probably take lots of naps for a while. Just keep walking and sipping and you will be back to yourself before you know it.
  3. Hopefully more people around your age will reply to this but I would also ask your team if they have a support group or if they can get you in touch with anyone. Maybe they can pass your information on to some of their younger patients.
  4. Ooh yea many people mention this on here. My stomach starts the second I start eating and doesn’t stop for at least an hour afterwards. It’s funny cause at over a year out I don’t notice it anymore until someone on here mentions it.
  5. Congrats on your surgery and glad to hear you are doing well considering. I took a ton of naps too. I just went with it. My husband actually got a kick out of it.
  6. Two weeks out I would have been able to. Like ms.sss if anything I was taking naps still but if you have the time to rest and still go then you should be fine.
  7. Weird. Well for the OP if you search mini gastric bypass on this site you should see some of his posts that are very informative. If you have that option for surgery there are definitely reasons to consider it. A lot of us that go through insurance do not have that option…in the US at least.
  8. Everyone is different when it comes to what is worth it to spend their money on. I learned that years ago when my husband spent like 20 bucks a beer at a club and I almost fell over. Lol. At the same time he would never spend hundreds of dollars on a pair of shoes and I find that to be a much better splurge. I think that spending money on your health is probably the best investment we can make so if having to be held accountable is what you need, Amazonsleeved, I say go for it.
  9. Yea, 45 mg of iron is what I was required to take.
  10. Some people may have noticed and just not said anything. It is becoming less acceptable to say it because someone may be losing because of a medical issue or just uncomfortable with the attention of someone noticing.
  11. I do not have any experience with Mexico and don’t know much about increased cancer risks, but I can tell you that post sleeve I do not have any issues eating anything I ate pre op and no issues with vomiting.
  12. All we can do is what feel best in our gut. You can always change your mind down the road and start the process over. Best of luck to you.
  13. Wow that’s great. I never took measurements and now at a year out I wish I had at least taken pre op measurements.
  14. Yay. That’s awesome!! Good for you.
  15. Well I think that the good news is that they should be doing labs every three months for the first couple months so even if you do get a little behind it shouldn’t be too far behind I wouldn’t think. But Splenda makes a good point that if it’s Related to an issue that may resolve with weight loss then it may be safer to just take them.
  16. Well I think it is sorta a guessing game because everyone’s body responds differently. I think the rule of thumb is that most people need it. I would be pressing my dr for a better answer for your unique circumstance.
  17. I wasn’t given a calorie amount at that stage either but I wanna say I was at around 6-800 if I recall correctly.
  18. Maybe you should do a happy medium and take a lower level of iron. Pro care health has multivitamins with zero, 18 and 45 mg iron.
  19. 1200 calories should still be a significant calorie deficit for anyone who would qualify for this surgery. You may not lose as fast as someone eating like 800 but you will still lose. And many practices are encouraging closer to what you are eating because they believe that being at the lower calorie intake for too long damages your metabolism. What does your team say about your loss??
  20. By that far out you should be able to do pretty much whatever you could handle physically before the surgery.
  21. Some people say gas ex helps a little but others say that it doesn’t touch it. Most people agree that walking is the only thing that really helps.
  22. I am over a year out now but I was the same way as you. Worried the whole time because I never had any issues with food. I just measured everything and stopped when I ate however much I was supposed to at that stage.
  23. You can always just say you had stomach surgery but not what kind. And if they insist on knowing which surgery and you don’t want to tell them I believe it is the hiatal hernia surgery that is very similar to WLS post op in terms of pain and diet. Double check that though.
  24. Ooh there are several recipes and some do not have egg. Mine didn’t. https://bariatricbits.com/single-serve-baked-ricotta/
  25. I can’t tell you many ideas on how to disguise the taste of them aside from using dressings or dips Which was already mentioned but I can tell you that early out I could not get enough in by just eating them after I ate my protein. I ended up eating veggies as my snacks for the first several months.
