    How fast?

I had VSG and I was fairly strict till I reached my goal, I focused on hitting my protein goal and drinking 2+L water a day, I didn’t really eat bread often as it filled me too much and I steered away from too many of my ‘trigger’ foods which were candy, ice cream etc. tried to have two serves of fruit a day and eat as healthy as I could 🙂

I reached beyond my goal and lost 129lbs in 10 months following surgery if there helps at all x

    Absolutely hate myself now

Sorry you’re feeling this way. Definitely seek help and try to believe it will help - if you write it off before you even try then it will fail. You can and will be successful and happy x

    Painkillers

I took solid tablets the morning after my surgery. My surgeon has told me not to have any anti inflammatories like nurofen ever again :/

    This surgery is bullshit...

As mentioned already follow your docs advice 100%. Become a disciplined person and log your food, start working out even if it’s just walking, speak with a psychologist and change your lifestyle - this is the key to success x
  7. Well done on getting back on track! It’s so challenging isn’t it to fight those old habits! I’m at goal now and down 115lbs - I am fighting myself mentally some days more than others but trying hard to keep my good workout and eating routine 🙂
  8. Rokeby farms smoothies are really yum and not too sweet - 30g protein 🙂
  9. Here are my weekly losses (in grams and kilograms) :)

    Carbonated drinks after VSG

Carbonated drinks apparently can cause pouch stretching. There’s a lot of pros and cons but personally (and just my opinion) why take the risk :)
  11. Oh right yes it is this is the 8 month loss though so it’s slowing as I’m closer to goal. I was around 13-17lbs most months until the last month or two :)
  12. I workout fairly hard 3x a week and walk other days. What seems low?
  13. I’m in my 8 month now and have lost 6lbs this month - definitely slowing (I’m about 2lbs off goal) :)
  14. Hi there Has anyone been diagnosed with eosophageal dysmotility post VSG?

    ?Dumping syndrome

Hi there I am 8 months PO sleeve and I seem to experience sometimes what I would think is dumping - diarrhoea, upset stomach, feeling like I have a rapid heart rate, but it only seems to occur the following morning after I have eaten. Would this be dumping syndrome or something else? I am finding I’m getting a run of upset stomachs (3-4 days in a row) sometimes without having eaten anything I think would be a trigger. Any insight Is appreciated :)

    ?Dumping syndrome

Yes I’m tracking all my food - i can’t really see a pattern or a standout which is what is so confusing 🙈

    Esophageal dysmotility

Hi there! I’m almost 8 months PO and am still being monitored. It has gotten a little better but not completely. I am learning to deal with it though I think 🙈
  20. I’m sorry you’re feeling so down! But if it helps I do think it’s totally normal! I felt the same for a while and really struggled with the mental side of things - became obsessed with food TikTok! Definitely get a therapist to help you through (I see one monthly) :)

    At My WHITS END

Oh no you poor thing. Have you had a barium swallow or endoscopy done to see what’s going on?

    Scared to death!

It can definitely be frustrating feeling that way when you’re not expecting it! I found it difficult at the start to work out what I was feeling and I never felt ‘full’ for a while. Try to stick to your goals and drink more protein fluids - definitely don’t push it this early with foods and stick only to your allowed list :)

    3 Month Update

I had lost 18kg/39lb 3 months post op but I certainly have learned among the way everyone is so different 🙂

    Is it Worth it?

Good on you for being prepared and doing your research! I am 7 months post op and almost 100lb down. I have had oesophageal dysmotility post up which causes me pain with quite a bit after eating and I did suffer from hair loss and nausea for a while. All the cons aside for me it has been totally worth it and life changing. My health has drastically improved and my food obsession is also improving! I personally would suggest psychology post op to deal with the food issues but I would absolutely do it all again :)

    Discomfort/pressure while eating?

I was sleeved in December and experienced something similar - I had a barium swallow which showed oesophageal dysmotility and I have my six month check next week with my surgeon to discuss options - it has improved with time but I would say I’m still having 2-3 bad days a week. I’m very fortunate though and haven’t thrown up - just terrible discomfort and chest pain
