  1. Strangely, I think you’re right. Next time the orange will be in the side.
  2. Weird salad addition alert- romaine, spicy peanuts, chicken thigh, mandarin orange, sesame ginger dressing, and… roasted red potatoes.
  3. Having grown up in Midwestern USA there are some things that are just inescapable- like tater tot casserole. It’s not as terrible as it sounds when it comes to most midwestern dishes. ?
  4. Also, dinner last night- spinach gnocchi with roasted onion and zucchini tossed in pesto. I packed the leftovers for lunch.
  5. I made cookies! ? Chocolate orange shortbread with a dark chocolate orange ganache, almond cookies, and ultimate chocolate chip (3 kinds of chips) cookies.
  6. Are you and is your health worth the minor inconvenience of a 2 week liquid diet? Think of it as a 2 week mindset reset. Remind yourself that every 10lbs lost takes 20lbs off your knees and less strain on the rest of your body. You can do it.
  7. Nope, was pretty much told that whatever it was fixed itself and that since I could keep down foods I could go home. So who knows. ?‍♀️
  8. My lovely meals from the past few days! ? Transient ischemic bowel (or that’s what they told me) so I won myself a 3 1/2 day hospital stay with 2 being npo. I’ll spare you the first meal of blended chicken noodle soup (it was terrible!). The next meal was “ground beef stroganoff”, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and broccoli with apple crisp (I had the rest with peanut butter and ice cream before bed). Also, those hospital eggs are DRY and the peanut butter went into my oatmeal.
  9. Salad for dinner- romaine, mandarin oranges, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, almonds, sesame seeds, fake chicken tenders, and Asian sesame dressing.
  10. Lunch today- tofu pho with a coffee milk tea and then the leftovers.
  11. Y’all, I don’t know what I’m doing that ends up with blurry pictures but jeez. ? Also, the amount of toast I’ve had lately has been astonishing. And that last picture with the peanut butter tofu and veggies- delicious even as *gasp* leftovers.
  12. Sometimes blah periods with foods happen. I get pretty bored of eating the same stuff over and over so unless I look for something new and different then I don’t see a point. Try looking for a random recipe generator or asking people to link you to their new favorite recipes. Tonight for dinner my family had baked bbq chicken and pineapple. I had mine as salad and they had theirs over rice with broccoli.
  13. Burger and fries for dinner. Ate mine with mushrooms, onions, peppers, cheddar cheese, stone ground mustard, Mayo, spinach and tomatoes. The seasoned fries were meh so I’m glad I only ate a few. Calories are including a full serving of fries though. And then one of my full days calories. Also breakfast was an Atkins chai protein shake and some buffalo flavored combos.
  14. The blurry leftover half of my turkey pastrami and cheddar wrap I had for dinner. Would’ve been around 240 calories for the whole thing. But I’m too exhausted to eat any more… and too full of donuts that got dropped off at our unit today.
  15. More random meals. The chicken salad (from the last picture) also made a repeat into my lunch today.
  16. I tend to eat them both ways. I have my savory and sweet ones.
  17. This meal (today’s breakfast) I didn’t finish- breakfast wrap, cottage cheese and pineapple. Also the nutrition facts for breakfast that I ate.
  18. Somehow I’ve become a random food photo dumper but enjoy (ate all of these ones). This was several days of meals.
  19. We regularly have a “build your own salad” night. I also might keep fruit cups, fruits, and veggies out in plain sight so they’re more accessible than the chips, sugary stuff, or other less nutrient dense foods. Your kids can only follow example and eat what you provide (for the most part), so healthy options, intuitive eating, and food modeling are great ways to keep kids having a healthier relationship with food.
  20. Random foods from the past week or so. The octopus shaped hot dogs were a kid’s dinner. ?
  21. The restrictions will come when your onto more substantial foods. I had the same thing after my revision happen.
  22. Moon cheese, trail mix or nuts, protein bars and shakes, beef jerky, tuna packets, and nut butters for crackers.
  23. Hey! I’m not a nurse but a monitor tech and work 12’s. Your best bet is loads of little things starting out- Greek yogurts, eggs and cheese, string cheese, taco meat, chili, etc. condiment or mini lunch containers are great. Take the time and walk away from the floor! You and your health are just as important as your patient. After all you’ve taken the steps to get to where you are now, don’t let others derail you by being unprepared for success when you come back. Also, water bottle at the hydration station and a phone timer to schedule breaks.
  24. They weren’t bad. And super simple- nut butter, protein powder, and either non dairy milk or sugar free maple syrup to bind it. The recipe said to dip in chocolate but they’re fine without it. And for the most part doing well. Starting to get cabin fever since it’s been so abnormally warm lately.
  25. Made homemade protein bars. I’m going to try making some with powdered peanut butter next time and see if I like them. Lunch today- stir fry kimchi and edamame, some tomatoes and onions, tamagoyaki, and teriyaki chicken.
