Look for an online psychiatrist. I did the first part of my evaluation online and the the dr called for the second part. Took about 20 minutes and 98 dollars!

I finally received my new date!!! June 26th it is. My original date was 4/13. This wait has been hard. I have been eating really, really bad and gained about 5 pounds. I live in Nashville, but will have surgery in Atlanta with Dr. Lytle. Hopefully there is not another delay..... I have to spend 2 extra days prior to surgery in Atlanta for covid testing..... Let’s keep our fingers and toes crossed!

I’ve been rescheduled to May 15th. Not sure if that date will stick, but I’m more hopeful this time.

I’m so disappointed.. I was Approved and scheduled for 3/27 and was cancelled the day after I completed pre-op😞due to COVID-19 I wanted to cry. I haven’t been rescheduled yet because of the pandemic. It’s so close but yet so far.. I had to process my feeling, I was kinda depressed about it but I know it will happen.. just wanted to share

My biggest frustration is the lack of control over my surgical plan. The thing is that some of us can't just "move our dates" randomly by however many weeks we have to wait to see if our hospitals become overrun or if this was just extreme caution. I was assured surgeries would "stay in the same order" but that doesn't change the demands on my time. I had 1 week to go, but I may not be able to have surgery at 1 weeks notice. Even if I am not working at school until the end of April, after April 5th, I will be working at home every day. The timing of surgeries was chosen for different reasons--mine because I have student needs/sub plans to consider, for example. I can't use a sub during this shut down, I HAVE to be available. It's frustrating to have your choices yanked away.
Venting is healthy, imo, even if there is logic saying the cancellations are reasonable. Locking in that resentment or frustration because people say things that are dismissive of your feelings or make you feel like you shouldn't have them at all because other people "might need hospital care more" can lead to self- destructive or diet destructive behavior; it certainly has for me. I'm glad this topic is here and I'm not the only one who seems resentful that the world lost its mind right when it would derail my plan to finally start the steps to a more pain-free life. Now I just have to get off my pity party and remember carbs are the true enemy!

I have one last insurance appeal in place but confidence of a reversal is low. I will not allow the results to derail my desired procedure date of 2nd week of April. I already have funds in place to "self-pay" within minutes of appeal update so either way its happening.

Dr. Lytle is an AMAZING Dr!! You will love him and his staff at Bariatric Innovations of Atlanta! He is kind, compassionate and very honest about everything from beginning to end! He is quick with responding to any questions you have at any time. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. They truly saved my life emotionally. I have had no problems at all getting in contact with the nutritionist, or Dr. Lytle for any follow-up care needed over the phone. They will work with your local doctors as well, being that you are out of state. I have NO complications from surgery, he is very careful and thorough. I am 6 months out.

Good luck with your upcoming surgery, you are in excellent hands. I hope this helps.

PS since we will be surgeon sisters, please feel free to reach out to me at any time. I’m very happy for you!

Congrats!!! This is random, but do you (or anyone else who sees this) obsess over the surgery? Wondering if it will be approved, worried that something will change, etc.? If so, how do you manage it?! I literally have a hard time sleeping now bc it's always on my mind! ALWAYS!

My insurance will pay 100% after the deductible and will pay me $1000 for using a preferred surgeon. So I will be $500 out of pocket.
