  1. Honestly, no. My weight gain made absolutely no difference to how he was with me and nor is the weight loss. I honestly did it for myself.
  2. LOL very very naughty!!!! yes you may like vodka and juice but they are both terrible choices health-wise, says me who drinks fizzy drinks coz it helps with the damn nausea! Do as I say not as I do
  3. I am having to have a protein bar a day too and like you have it for breakfast because I can't get enough food protein in due to ongoing nausea. I look at the total carbs though as they are pretty much the same effect on the body sugar level wise, I find if I have 15g carbs or less per 'meal' I am fine, any higher and I dump, also why diabetics go low carb not just low sugar. But I guess for us depending on how small our intake is per day it is a different ball game. I did 20g net carbs for so long I can't get my head away from it, lucky that even if I have 1 meal a day with 15g carbs I never go over 20g just because of the volume of food required. For some reason I am rambling, so I shall shush now lol I do wish we could get some of the USA foods in UK tho, the range here is pants unless you buy from Amazon or eBay then they cost like a hundred bucks for 12 bars lol
  4. Ditto what everyone else has said, sugar free cordial/squash etc
  5. Pain fever general illness
  6. Ooh bless you get well soon xx
  7. The cramping was the rest of your bowel spasming from the blockage.
  8. I'm 10 weeks post op and still not right i think some of us are just slower to get back to normal x
  9. Any changes in life can evoke feelings of loss as we let go of the old. Pretty normal to be anxious or sad when we make huge changes x
  10. I think her site just got rearranged here is the slow cooker recipe page https://twosleevers.com/best-instant-pot-chicken-recipes/ there is a chicken curry 2nd recipe down
  11. haha sorry I'm such an airhead sometimes! Glad it wasn't ongoing tho
  12. ps, post op low bp is quite normal as any morphine based drugs they used will lower the bp
  13. ugh as a back pain sufferer I totally get your frustration at no one listening. I was in agony with my back post op but everyone thinks because you can still move it is 'nothing'. I too have degenerative disc disease, arthritis and 3 ruptured discs, and it is no fun! So ridiculous that no one even ran a finger down your spine to see if you had any tender spots!
  14. Definitely go for RNY if you have GERD, the sleeve is notorious for worsening symptoms, just do a search on 'sleeve revision GERD' and see how many people have had to change to RNY. I had both ops in a space of 2 weeks and I wasn't any more uncomfortable after the RNY than I was with the sleeve. All the same bits get moved around, bits still get cut stitched etc etc and you still have the same laparoscopic scars
  15. Ok when you use CPAP or BiPAP air gets blown into the stomach as well as the lungs, so they have to weigh up how serious your sleep apnoea is vs the risk of air being blown into your pouch and causing issues. So if they say don't take it, don't take it, or take it but don't expect to use it especially if you don't have severe sleep apnoea Does that make sense?
  16. Omg, no wonder you need to rant! Sometimes a good old rant just helps a little. It all sounds horrendous and to be in constant pain with no answers... I hope something gets sorted soon for you x
  17. OH MY LORD, see i was looking for something else, saw this, didn't check the date sorry guys lol
  18. Get your butt to the Dr ASAP even with postural hypotension you shouldn't be blacking out completely and to be honest with the thousands of diabetic patients I have looked after I have never known this to happen, if they pass out then they stay passed out due to low blood sugars. Are you getting enough fluid in?
  19. Did they not give you pain relief on discharge? Are you getting enough water in as this help get your blood pressure up, did they give you iv fluids?
  20. How has it been? Only a few days now and you will be post-op !!
  21. Bastian replied to sillykitty's topic in The Lounge
You look gorgeous!!! Love that blue on you too!
  22. Are you still on fluids only or puree? Also, that seems a lot of water, I struggle to get half of that in, did they tell you to drink that much? Did your surgeon tell you what size he would make your sleeve AND most importantly it IS working you HAVE lost 13lbs, that is nothing to be sneezed at, imagine trying to lose that much before your sleeve? Everyone loses at different rates depending on how much they need to lose, exercise levels/muscle mass/height etc. Don't get down, there is nothing to be down about, it is coming off, just not as fast as you wanted
  23. I was given a calorie range of 800-900/day and was also told to eat cream of wheat in the pureed stage. Again it just depends on your team. But as said above we should be focussing on protein and fluids first!
