Food Before and After Photos
tHIS IS USUALLY CRAB DIP (RECIPE IS NOW ON THE RECIPE BOARD) BUT I DIDN'T HAVE ANY SO (oh my lord damn caps lock and i can't be bothered 'unshouting' LOL sorry ), so as I was saying I used tuna instead, super yummy and easy to make more pureed with the obligatory 20 chews per 'mouthful'. Before is 1/3 cup Aaaand this is all I could manage.

Crab dip
This is usually made with crab, but I have none in so used Tuna. 135g can of tuna mushed with a fork to get rid of any lumps 2 soft boiled eggs 3-4 Tablespoons Low fat Mayo Add all ingredients to a bowl and mash well, normally you mix well and leave chunks of egg/crab but obvs you want it quite mushy for the puree stage. Measure you serving out and eat (my plates look very scratched on camera and not black but brown!!)

Advice/opinions wanted
Yes I did mean that but totally understand why you wouldn't want to. It is a tough one lovely, good luck with however you decide to handle it xx

I was not ready for the pre-op diet and messed up first day
Yep today is a new day, just crack on, stick to the protein shakes and your liver will be nice and soft, smaller and easy for them to move. The yoghurt isn't going to make much of a difference, just stick to it 100% now and it'll be fine Congrats on having a date!!! WooHoo!

How soon does one poop post-op?
2 weeks for me but I wasn't constipated, just nothing to poop out! 2 weeks liquid before going in, then 2 weeks of drip only because I couldn't keep any liquid in, so once home and finally on full fluids then things started happening. Not going when there is nothing there isn't constipation, not being able to go when you need to and it is hard/dry/ painful IS constipation. Still on pureed food so going about twice a week now.

August 2019 Check In
You are only 3 weeks out and you are still recovering and healing internally. Operations take a lot out of the body, so just try and take it easy. I too went to the shop nearby 3 weeks out and also nearly passed out, it is just too much so early on and our bodies sure let us know. Also with your heart being naughty rhythm wise might be worth giving your Dr a call just to get some reassurance

August 2019 Check In
Gastric Sleeve 12th August, Dilation OGD 17th August, Emergency Bypass 20th August. 5 foot 10" HW 115 kg (253 lbs) SW 112 kg (246 lbs) CW 96kg (211 lbs) So far lost 19kg (41.8 lbs) So after 3 procedures and just over 2 weeks in hospital, I am still getting tired easily. But I go for a gentle walk every other day (around 5km a week = 3miles). I am starting to be able to do more around the house and my wounds all look good, especially considering they were re-opened! Bending is still uncomfortable on my tummy but much easier than before the op. What I do love is my clothes hanging off me LOL and I can get up the stairs without huffing and puffing OR having to use the handrail to help pull myself up Our stairs are very steep so it's a pretty big non-scale victory (NSV) for me Bit miffed that I have worked out I am definitely lactose intolerant now and in a big way. But had some great tips from some of these forums veterans. I am still on pureed food, not sure when I get to real food, but I'm not in a rush, pureed is better than liquids so I am happy to wait if I have to. Kudos to those of you that have gone back to work, I wouldn't have been able to yet if I did work! Everyone seems to be doing a great job

Can you take CBD products before surgery (no vaping)
Ir doesn't need to be injected it is absorbed very well through the mucosa and even through the skin Hence it being in so many forms. Best absorption is to inhale or under the tongue, hence people vaping or using the drops.

Playing the Waiting game :-/

TOO MUCH PROTEIN = KIDNEY PROBLEMS???
@Mikeyy 100g a day is fine for a man. Some kidney pain can be normal in the early days of a keto diet as they are working a bit harder than usual. I start my male clients on 80-120g a day and 20g carbs. (I trained under Professor Tim Noakes and am certified to coach people in keto- fit in with my specialist interest in training as a specialist nurse in diabetes you see & certified in dietary advice! Yep having all that knowledge isn't always enough, hence me being here post-surgery!). You really do need a good amount of water to help flush stuff out as Fluffy already said. If it continues for 2 weeks or gets significantly worse or you feel unwell go and see your Gp. Healthy kidneys can handle it fine, people with a history of kidney issues have to have much less, but a week on that amount wouldn't cause an issue. However, what can cause an issue is bariatric surgery and that can cause kidney stones to suddenly appear seemingly out of the blue, hence my comment about seeing your Gp if you get severe pain.

Can you take CBD products before surgery (no vaping)
I don't think it is wise to come off the Xanax without your Dr's support and definitely not before surgery on your own. Are you managing your anxiety well now and have you been on it long? It's a benzodiazepine so likely you will have to be weaned off it, due to the withdrawal effects and as a nurse, I would strongly recommend you speak to the Dr that started you on it and discuss coming off it with them. Absolutely do not have CBD oil in any form with it. You can, however, have a plan of action to use CBD oil after you are off it to help with your anxiety. I had it in drop form, 2 drops under the tongue 3x a day, it was pretty good and there was definitely a calming/relaxing side effect. I stopped buying it because it is so expensive and wasn't really helping my back pain. Just do it all the 'right' way, yeah, to stay safe and also not jeopardise your op.

Weird Back Pain
Sounds muscular to me, but obvs I am just making a wild guess, but post-surgery it is normal for backs to be a bit niggly. I had a similar issue and couldn't take a deep breath and it just got worse until my whole back was in a spasm so I had to get a dr to come to my house and had a week of diazepam until the muscles all relaxed again. Give it a couple more days then go get it checked out if it is still bothering you. Hopefully, it is just a knot causing some small spasms- which can definitely be constant. Hope it goes soon

Still in the hospital
Aww bless you, at least the pesky, troublesome gallbladder has gone though! I paced the corridors when I was in too, best thing for us to get stuff moving! Hope you are well enough to go home and recuperate in your own space ASAP

Lactose Intolerance
Are the lactase tabs worth it? Do they really prevent symptoms or do you still get some?
-
Lactose Intolerance
Luckily we now have Skyr lactose free yoghurts, flavoured and plain and lactose free skim milk, semi-skimmed and whole, I am on the skimmed obvs, thanks for the tip on the nutritional yeast, I shall get on to Amazon also Slimfast have got some new vegan protein shakes that are 26g protein per serve and are lactose and gluten-free, so a quick look last night gave me a few options too. You guys in the states have a far FAR better range of food than we do; AND gutted, only 3 or 4 Wholefoods in the UK and the one in my town shut down, don't they know I NEED THEM ARGH and poop! Who knew how painful being lactose intolerant could be huh!!!? Damn. The good thing is I know now so can sort out all this pain and bloating PS. Social services are happy with us, just really hurtful that someone close to us did it anonymously. We know because of some other irrelevant private info they shared that only a small handful of people knew. Bit of a slap in the face you know? But thanks, am resting when I have to and am walking every other day, so doing about 5km (3 miles) a week at the moment, not a lot but not nothing

Any Az sleevers?
yep for 8 whole days lol, my gut was not happy about it and I had to have an emergency bypass but it only happens to 0.2% of people so my new mantra is that 'I took one for the team' lol

I'm not hungry... I want food.
I dreamt I was eating a toasted cheese sandwich last night LOL If you're not hungry but want food it is just your head @JMA2019 it gets easier and you should try distracting yourself with something not food related that you enjoy xx

Major Stall...PLEASE HELP1
A week is not a stall and stalls are normal with any weight loss as your body adjusts.
