Final meal before surgery
Strange, I haven't heard of people needing bowel prep because they're only dealing with the top part of the gut and you've been on a liquid diet so there will be very little stool in the bowel anyway. Did they give you a rationale for taking it? I also didn't have one for my sleeve. Curious [emoji16]

Post-op Pain/Incisions
I had a sleeve then a bypass a week later, 5 incisions for both, they just went back into the 5 from the sleeve for the bypass. I'm a year out and they are a dull pink colour. Healing takes approx 6 weeks. But there's no issue showering with them, they are covered with a waterproof dressing. I had a fair bit of pain but I did have 2 major ops within a week through the same incisions, so mine was to be expected.

Food Before and After Photos
Yummo!! I love asian fish cakes, tried making my own without much success, ended up being like fish soup when I tried cooking them [emoji23] i need to try again coz I love that bouncy texture and they cost a bomb at the Asian supermarket. Haven't tried the tofu ones, but love tofu as well. Do the tofu ones have the bouncy texture?

I'm underweight but can't eat much
So, after being in agony and spending a week in hospital turns out I have an ulcer! Took me going in to the er to get sorted tho pppftt. So now on sucralfate and dietary supplement drinks. Hopefully once this ulcer is healed ill be able to eat and not rely on the dietary supps, they want me on 5 a day plus food but I can only get 1 and a half in. They talked about putting an nj tube in or giving me tpn if my nutrition doesn't improve so I'm trying to get a good range in, fingers crossed this will be the end of any issues!!

Obstructions do make you vomit, personally I'd get it done just because I wouldn't want to risk a full obstruction. Bless you must be awful, big virtual hugs x

Has anyone ever been told they may not be permitted to have surgery because their triglycerides are too high?
Fatty liver isn't just hereditary. Anyone on a high sugar diet will feet fatty liver are some point. Not doing surgery coz of high trigs makes zero sense hey!

Safe NSAID usage
yoy need to treat whatever is causing your glands to be up, which will reduce your need for nsaids.
-
Safe NSAID usage
you could ask for PR (rectal) diclofenac, no stomach risks then.

covid test
why are you scared? It's just a swab. I think you are perhaps scared of the results and even if positive right now you obvs aren't sick with it so try to think of the positives of your op instead.

Band to Mini bypass
yeah you'll be up asap and walking. The days of bed rest post-op are long gone. Ask for some painkillers if the gas pain gets too much and a heat pack. It's horrible pain huh

Nervous about post-op energy levels...
you're having major surgery which takes 6 weeks recovery so you won't have much energy anyway. But food wise you will go into ketosis and use your body fat for energy which can make you feel energized.
