I had it on Monday. It’s kind of like the feeling when water goes up your nose in the pool and it burns a little bit. The stinging a little milder than that, but it’s a little more sustained as they h

I guess that person wasn’t an over achiever ? The protocol is for both, but what is really scary to me is the 20% false notice rate. Yikes.

  • ? No wonder mine wasn't that bad.. only one nostril and it seemed to be finished in 10 seconds. ?

No reason to be scared.. it isn't bad. They put a swab FAR up your nose and it smells of alcohol.. not pleasant, but it doesn't hurt at all. You'll be fine!

It is quick.. Only takes maybe 30 seconds? Don't stress about! So many other things are much worse, like the strep test, tetanus shots and pap smears (if you're female). If you can get through those three things -- the CoVid test is a piece of cake.

I will say though that I read that how easy it is depends on the person who is administering the test... My nurse was super gentle. I hope you get someone like the guy I had - he was great!

lmao yes female i hope i get someone gentle because smh i get panic attacks and well i hate to have an incident lmao
I just got mine done today, and like you I was really dreading it.

It turns out that it's really not that bad. Don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly volunteering to do it for fun in my spare time, but It's just a few shitty seconds and then it's over. And even during those few seconds, I wouldn't really describe it as pain. It's more of a severe discomfort and a feeling that they're sticking something where it doesn't belong.

why are you scared? It's just a swab. I think you are perhaps scared of the results and even if positive right now you obvs aren't sick with it so try to think of the positives of your op instead.

I literally just had to have a COVID test a few hours ago. Its uncomfortable, but not unbearable. It lasted less than 20 seconds!

how did you feel when you got it? or did you? would you get it again just to do it? could you see yourself doing it everyday?

My eyes definitely watered (involuntarily)!!! LOL my daughter cracked up at my reaction to it all!

I had the covid swab not for surgery but because in my state in Australia, anyone with cold, cough or flu symptoms can be tested free of charge.

The swab at the back/side of the throat tickled, the nose swab was uncomfortable but that didn't last long. It really was a non-event.
