I’m only in week 7 but today I noticed I crossed my legs for the first time in years. And it was surprisingly comfortable. Didn’t really think of that as something I wanted to do until today.

I am not sure if these are weird.....
I just want to feel good again
I want to fit into the smaller clothes I have been hanging onto for years!
I want to feel like no one is staring at my fatness
I want to be pain free (my joints are a mess)
I want to be able to go farther on the Tandem bike my hubby just bought.
I want to be able to garden pain free
I want to be able to keep up with everyone

    Hello!
Years ago I had one of these. It wasn't like a endoscopy for me, they did it while I was sitting up and wide awake. The tube and monitor went in my nose and I had to swallow it. But, they probably have a better way now. I could feel it, but you may not. Hope it goes well for you!

Let me say that this is strictly my opinion and my experience. Everyone is so different that it is hard for any of us to say which one would be easier recovery for you.

I had sleeve surgery and it was rough for the first week post op. I think that I could have easily gone back to work at a sedentary job by then.

The big thing is that you need to
Put so much concentration and effort into getting your fluids and Protein in. If you are able to bring everything with you to work and able to set a Water reminding timer, there is a good chance that you will be able to go back in a short amount of time.

Lynda486 reacted to AZhiker in I finally get why people dont tell others they had weight loss surgery!
I am sooooo glad I told no one except my husband, 2 adult kids, my brother and a nurse I needed to change work days with, and she was sworn to confidentiality. I didn't even tell my own parents. I needed a small group that I knew would be supportive and not judgmental - people who have seen my struggle over the years and would stand beside me in this surgery.
What I am really getting tired of is people continually coming up to me and asking what I did to lose the weight. Why is MY weight loss their business????? I tell them that I have made some major lifestyle changes in diet and exercise, which is perfectly true. If they ask for specifics, I tell them, "No wheat, no sugar, no caffeine, no soda (diet or regular), no juice, no alcohol, no processed food, no artificial colors/sweetners/flavors, intermittant fasting, and a lot more exercise." Their eyes glaze over either with the sugar or the alcohol. NOT A SINGLE PERSON HAS ASKED ANY FURTHER - THEY WALK OFF. EVERYONE WANTS A MAGIC PILL. If there was an obese person who was sincerely looking for answers and was willing to start making serious lifestyle changes, I might consider offering WLS as a suggestion to investigate. But I have not seen that person yet. It makes me realize that we here are a very small group of brave, courageous individuals who truly are willing to put it all down, make the sacrifices, and do the hard work for lifelong changes and health. We are few, I believe, when considering the general population.

    Great question!
Things I am looking forward to:
    - Blending in a crowd. (Being a major, major introvert, I HATE being the BIG GIRL standing out all the time.)
    - Gardening and breathing, all at the same time.
    - Feeling like I have taken back some control over my own body. Making peace with it. Knowing it will always be a work in progress, even a struggle, but something that I CAN now do.
    - Being in a position sometime down the road to "pay it forward" by helping someone else dealing with their weight issues.
    - Breaking up with my CPAP machine.
    - Never having to make a list of joys/goals that is based on how my current weight affects those things I want to do, Ever, ever again. LOL!

I’m looking forward to ( and already have done )
1- wearing the clothing in my closet that I kept because I l promised myself I would fit in it again one day..
2- getting off insulin ( use to take 80 units a day , I’m down to only 10)
3- running a 5k and then maybe even a longer distance
    4- more energy for my new born son ( he’s 7 months old and I’m 48 )
5- Having my wife look at me the way she use to when I got out the shower ( she still did , but I was insecure of myself so I never accepted her compliments)

Here is the list I made preop, my weight loss bucket list as it is:
    1. cross my legs - check! I love crossing my legs now and do it all the time!
    2. sneeze without peeing - condition has improved greatly
    3. rock climbing - haven't tried yet, kinda forgot it was on my list
    4. run a 5k - currently training and looking for a race
    5. be comfortable wearing shorts and not just capris in summer - check! I never used to wear shorts, but now I have 3 in my new size and only one pair of capris
    6. buy a swimsuit that doesn't have a skirt - check!
    7. waterski again - gotta get to the lake this summer to knock this one off
    7. Sex. More energy for it, more fun positions to try - DOUBLE CHECK!
Some bonus things: I like being able to pop myself up to sit on counters, I can sit on the floor without hurting my hips, I can buy a much bigger variety of shoes because I no longer need wide widths. Unfortunately I'll need to replace all my wide calf boots because they look ridiculous on me now.

Not from me, you're an adult person capable of making and living with the choices you make. I do think you were one lucky duckie🐥to escape any ramifications. Will it always be that way? Can't really say, there few absolutes in life anyway.
Well honestly I haven't much drank in my adult life, if you have read my postings you know there are "small business men"aka,"moonshiners "on Daddy's side of the Family Tree. White lightening straight ---cures You of much aspiration to hard liquor. Yes I kept it down, didn't want to shame Daddy. by vomiting on my shoes or the ground. And no, this wasn't not Daddy's idea, in fact he was "up mift tree" about it, some shouting ensued when he found out what his doggone briothers were up to.
And if I had any aspirations to alcohol , remember my small dictator, Precious Pouch, she won't even sanction coffee, you know doggone well she wouldn't accept any hard or semi- hard drinks like THAT!

    Hello All,
In 1998 I had a VGB. I did really well with it, and I went from 302 to 155.
Now after suffering for years with Gerd I have developed Gastritis. I have also regained all but 80 pounds. I saw a baratric surgeon last Thursday and I will be able to get it done quicker because I have been through it all before and did rather well with weight loss. I had the Barium swallow test last week and it showed as soon as I swallowed it would come part way up my esophagus. Next week I get the EDG
I look forward to meeting with you all and all that I can learn from you. I know the revision will be completely different from the VBG.
