Thought I would check in and see how everybody is holding up though this crisis. Luckily for me my husband is considered essential and still gets to work for 6 hours a day. I am also essential, but I only work one day a week. Hope everyone is doing alright! Take care!

I'm a teacher, I am STRUGGLING. My school is title I so lots of poverty and broken homes, knowing they need connection but overwhelmed with trying to onboard everything about my classroom online ( I teach middle and high school music). I have over 200 kids, so I don't know the best way to reach all of them.

I'm also immunocompromised but have gone for a run (which I hate haha) every day to just get a break

In the last 6 months, I've lost 35kg, dropped my body fat percentage from 40% to 25% and have lost countless cms from my body measurements. My surgeon, dietician and exercise physiologist we're delighted with my results. In fact the surgeon said "gee, you've lost the weight well" when he saw me. I'm assuming he just means I look awesome now lol. I'm now in the healthy BMI range. And my fave result, my thighs no longer rub when I walk!
This surgery has been life changing in every way, I wish it had done it ten years ago, and skipped another 5 cycles of yoyo diets and all the associated self loathing and trauma.
My before photo is not even at my biggest, I got pretty good at dodging the camera.

Doing ok! Hoping and praying for a quick resolution. Most of my immediate family members are considered essential and still must travel to work (in NYC) Including an ER doc, biochemist, Police Captain, Security officers, public servants, etc.

I am VERY fortunate to work from home to begin with as a book editor, so I'm thankful that my job is not in danger.
I've also been able to find food at our fancier stores (because the locals all swamp to the cheaper places like Smiths and Walmart instead) and have been able to keep eating healthy, too.
Can say the empty streets are nice for 7-8am walks, though kinda eerie.

I'm in defense and so considered essential. I am a little frazzled about the thought of being exposed to the virus at work. I have an elderly parent to care for and don't want to exposes her to the virus.

I have had 2 weight loss surgeries and have been successful losing weight with both. I only regained because my pouch developed a fistula, which allowed me to eat more, and I didn't realize why I was gaining. Most of the people that have nothing good to say about this surgery have not researched is as you have. They only know what they have heard or assumed to be correct. People are well intention ed, but also don't understand. You are doing this for you, not them. You want to be healthier and feel better and live a longer life and you can do so with this surgery. Also we are here for you to help in anyway we can! Hugs!

I finally hit goal this morning!!! 16 months, 2 weeks and 4 days!

YAY!!!! Now to see if it goes any lower and just keep it there and still do the same things. I was bad last week during quarantine and ate the wrong stuff and had a 2.5 pound gain over the course of 2 weeks. I decided on Monday to do a reset and do liquid only.. after 3 days i dropped 7 pounds... now to ease back into food so it doesnt jump too high!

Hmmmmmmmmm, IMO I think this is a tough question to answer because one has to take several things into consideration, "desired weight" (can you hear this little voice of vanity in the head?) is unfortunately just one. When I look at BMI 30 my gut reaction is: "You're not done and there is wiggle room!" - but this is just gut reaction and looking at the weight/BMI only.
IMO one should keep several things in mind, e. g.:
    - how do you feel physically at this weight?
    - how healthy are you now?
    - do you like yourself when looking into the mirror? (loose skin being out of the equation)
    - does the possibility of having to exercise more sound appalling or appealing?
    - do you want to restrict your diet even more?
    - you you think you could be happy at the weight you're now?
An interesting concept is that of "best weight". https://obesitycanada.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Best-Weight-Book.pdf
I think the whole PDF is worth a read but the concept of best weight is explained on page 12 and I think it can be applied to WLS patients as well:

For all of you who have seen me post I am bat poop crazy about Vitamins and supplements. However i struggled big time with this and had to self teach myself. What i kept finding out with every blood test is this, No matter what you take every week will be different, Mainly because your body uses them differently. The big thing is the whole foods you eat along with the vitamins! However this may apply more to males - I hate veggies and fruit, Love the Protein, love the shakes,
I must get 10 PMs a week form here asking for help. So doing this post. If you look at all my past posts you will see many posts on this. Today I got a PM from here with a poor guy that is so damm confused 3 weeks post op I had to get his email addy to help him.
I am not a long time WLS member but there are a ton here. This is a simple outline of my Vit and Mineral Plan
Morning - Mulit Vitamin (Fusion) and Protien shake with GNC 50 powder
    Late Morning- juice Plus Bar
lunch - Some sort of animal, GNC Mulit Vitamin and Juice plus chewable
Early afternoon - Trail mix, and protien bar or juice plus bar
    dinner - Healthy balanced meal
Bed time - Juice plus capsule and fusion chewable
I Currently use Core Fitness thanx to Jake on this site, and Amazon for all my other products and http://ad98557.juiceplus.com Watch these Videos on this site, It is the closest thing to a post WLS plan. Great information on there! Now Do it and educate youself. Ya they are promoting there products but the information is great
I became a member to the Juiceplus group after meeting one of our members here who swore by it, and I was so dang confused post op, These llittle veggie capsules do really help in the blood work game.
FYI i do not get paid by any of above But after going thru a billion dollars in crap products this is what i used and most i currently are using

I haven't used anything on mine yet and they have really faded. The only one that is really noticeable is the one in my belly button, it is still really red. In the past I used Mederma also.

I agree there are so many reasons people may not say a thing. My husband took awhile to say anything to me, and that was the one I cared about the most. My oldest son saw me for the first time since Thanks giving and was asking his Dad if I was okay and he knows about my surgery! Last night at an auction, I had a woman that I see a few times a year, she came straight to me and said you have lost a lot of weight, how did you do it because I need to. So, I explained my illness and surgery. She is Amish so I am sure she wont go this route. But, like AJ said I am doing this for me. I am sure people noticed and if they want to compliment me I will take it, but it won't break me if they don't mention it.

I did start some seeds earlier this week. I have a 40 by 50 garden that in the past I have not been in good enough shape to work by myself. It sounds like a good day weather wise and I am going to go out and play in the dirt. Great idea!!!

I find it is not worth the calories for the short lived buzz I get do to gastric bypass.
I also here that folks who have had RNY can end up alcoholics trying to chase that lengthy buzz.
I just make do with the occasional drink.

    Yes.
SARS-COV-2 puts "gaining weight" into a new perspective. A rather unimportant one compared to many other things. I can see though that people are focussing on the possible weight gain problem as in the end it provokes less anxiety than the virus.
However, no one is automatically doomed to gain weight while staying at home. Not you, not me - NO ONE.
And I was supposed to know that because...? You said in your first post you're "prone to anxiety" - that's what many people are these days, including myself.
I can see that you're obviously mad at me. I'm sorry you are. But lashing out at me will most likely not help.
