  1. I was on Abilify and felt like I was on speed. It also made my eyes jerk back and forth. Bad stuff for me. I also took Depakote and slept for months. When I was not asleep, I was sick.
  2. My thought on this matter is this: Getting banded is a MAJOR decision. The pre-op and post-op phase is a very small portion of your life. You MUST follow the eating rules. This is vital to the healing process. Now that does not mean the eating rules you find on here. That means the eating rules outlined by your doctor and nutritionist. Everyone's is different. Call your doctor, admit your mistake, see what he/she feels needs to be done from here, accept the outcome. DON'T CHEAT AGAIN if you truly want to lose weight and move on to a healthier you. Do whatever you have to in order to avoid cheating. I have locked myself in the bathroom with a book and with Vick's under my nose in order to avoid the smell of tempting food (not that I am a saint - That is just one method I have used.). I can't give you a pat on the back and tell you its okay when it's not. I will also not chew you out. That is not my place. I can only offer advice on what I think you should do from here. Be strong, be creative, and you will be proud of yourself for recovering from this mistake.
  3. I have had two fills and one unfill (which required being poked about five times and have never had a numbing agent. My body seems to do well and I don't seem to need one. I don't judge those who do need it though because if the needle was going in my foot it would be a different story. I cannot handle needles in my feet at all.
  4. hockeyson, I am so very sorry. My heart is so sad with yours right now. It is all so fresh. Everytime I close my eyes, I see her. I am always catching my mind wandering to her. I thank everyone so much for their encouraging words of love, compassion, and understanding for us and our losses. It means more than you can know. On an upbeat note, my hubby felt so sad for me and my oldest son that he made a trip to the local animal care center and came home with two new members to our family. We now have two beautiful new puppies that are such a handful. We will now be able to give back to our beloved Jesse by passing on the love she gave to us to these two new pups. One puppy, Tyson is a 4 mo. old lab/shepherd/chow mix who is sweet as a button. Our second, Stella is a 9-12 mo. old lab/shepherd/chow mix (Tyson will be much bigger than her) who is so very loving. They are both as crazy as can be and just love to play all day long. No one could ever replace Jesse but we are finding that we can go on. These little critters are making it easier to lift our heads out of the tears and putting smiles back on our faces. You can see pictures of Jesse, Tyson, and Stella at the following link. 5. Last night I had to have my dog, Jesse, put to sleep. She has been very ill for some time now with diabetes. She was my best friend. She has been constantly at my side for seven and a half years. She has loved me unconditionally. This past year has been one of the hardest of my entire life and she never left me alone through it. We came home last night and she was very very ill. We met the vet at the clinic and the decision was decided. We were at the clinic all evening with her. My son, my husband, and I were on the floor beside her to the very end. She died knowing she was loved and being held and petted by those closest to her. We brought her home and she was buried at midnight last night in our backyard. We buried many of her favorite things with her (including a McDonald's Cheeseburger and fries). The wind was very very high and the air was very cold but she deserved to be at peace and safely underground. My heart is truly broken beyond what words can even describe right now. I never thought I could be this destroyed by the loss of a pet. I feel so stupid being this upset but I just can't get beyond the tears. I miss her being by my side or at my feet. Please be patient with me as it may be a few days before I get the Weight Loss Chart updated. Pray that the Lord will send comforting angels to my home and that He will carry my family through this tough time.
  6. Ok. This one is weird but I have definitely lost weight in my feet. All my shoes are flopping when I wear them. I can't even keep some of them on!
  7. I had to find that one out, too, in the beginning.
  8. I think a slight unfill is needed too. I know I had quite a bit of slime when I was filled a bit too much.
  9. Please post your weights and info to the following thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f283/new-notorious-novembers-weightloss-spreadsheet-83651/ DO NOT ADD TO THIS THREAD AS I WILL NOT BE CHECKING THIS ONE ANY LONGER. Thanks!
  10. I don't typically measure my food. I just eat until I am full. It averages to about 1/2 cup of food, sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less (eggs). I have been steadily losing. I had stalled a bit when I went to mushies but picked back up again when I had my first fill and moved to solids. The one big change is that I ramped up my Protein intake with a shake every morning and every evening. The scales are moving again now. I wonder if I was not getting enough calories and it had caused me to stall. Tonight, we went out for Mexican and I had a bit of cheese smothered chicken and steak, a few chips and salsa, and Water with lemon and lime. I shared with my husband who ate the bulk of the meal. I have been eating an egg or two at some point during the day with a bit of salsa and sour cream added. I also went to McDonald's the other day and ordered a four piece chicken nugget and small fry. I ate 2 chicken nuggets and about three fries and was full. I had the rest for lunch the next day. I am just careful with how much I eat but pretty much am eating like everyone else now with a smaller portion.
  11. I started a new spreadsheet for us. The link is below. I also started a new post under the November 2008 board. Please post your weight there and I will get it updated. I will be sure to do it at least once a week. Notorious Novembers 2008 Weightloss Spreadsheet - Google Docs Everyone is updated to this point.
  12. Also, fat free refried beans and I added a bit of mild salsa, sour cream, and low fat Mexican cheese. Very yummy and filling. Personally, I think if you get back on track, you will probably be okay BUT should call your doctor to be safe.
  13. I love that I can eat virtually anything that I loved before. I just eat less of it. God must have known what He was doing on this one. I have to confess. At this point, I am still not getting a lot of exercise. It is soooo icy outside and my treadmill is freakin' out. Just think how much more I could be losing if I was actually doing something! I love my band!
  14. You still probably have a lot of swelling in there. It will get better with time. I have very good restriction and I only have little over 1cc in a band that can hold around 11cc. I have to be very careful when I eat or I can't get it down. Some people just seem to have more swelling and earlier restriction than others.
  15. I agree with Wasa and I think Mindy did have every right to clarify her position. I think she is only looking out for the best interest of the poster and I think she also said she was having trouble with her computer. As for the original poster, it is so hard on here because every doctor does things differently. I had my first fill at four weeks. I have heard most doctors do not typically do the first fill until six or eight. My diet has also varied from a lot of others. I think each doctor feels differently about what should be done when and we need to remember the one important part of this site and that is that 98% of us are all just patients. We can come here for some support but, when it comes down to it, we need to remember that our doctor is the one who sees us, who operated on us, and who is there to take care of us. Always listen to your doctor and be sure not to compare yourself to everyone on here. You will never find an exact replica of you on here. Do what your doctor says BUT, if for some reason you ever lose faith in him/her, find a new doctor. Just remember, we are not doctors. I read a post the other day where a woman had surgery and was on solids TWO days after surgery. My chin about dropped to the floor but she is eating carefully and doing what her doctor told her.
  16. Current weight: 217. Thanks Froggi!
  17. It sounds like you are too tight or too swollen. I have big issues with swelling (as we just found out). I would try a couple of days of liquids, then a couple of days of mushies, and then try solids again and see what happens. It will give time for any swelling to go down.
  18. The Beans will make you gassy. Added with PMS, you will get pain. I agree about lower back pain and Water being the solution. I have been dealing with that one, myself. Working on getting more water in as I type. It doesn't really sound to be like anything is wrong. I think it is just your body still adjusting. Each time I eat it is a whole new experience. I never know what to expect.
  19. I was on Clear Liquids for the first week, full liquids for the second week, mushies the third and fourth week and am now going to soft solids. It varies from doctor to doctor. Just be sure you are doing what you doctor wants and you will be ok.
  20. Yea. I think I am going to try to schedule a late morning adjustment that way I will have all afternoon to have problems.....God forbid it all happens again.
  21. Hang in there. You are doing awesome already. I know what you mean about being impatient. I am SOOOOOOO impatient. You will get there soon and then be on your way to losing again. I don't think the Peanut Butter will be bad as long as you don't abuse it. Once you get a really restrictive fill, you may have to stop because it may get stuck. That would be one way to kick the habit.
  22. I have been sleeping on my stomach since about one week post-op. My doc said whenever it was comfortable for me. I have never really had any trouble with it. I have also been having sex since a few days post-op. That was just a matter of changing position a bit to where I was comfortable.
  23. Oh, I've been in touch with my surgeon and I am keeping in touch with him through this. As much as I love forums and the valuable information that can be taken from here, nothing can replace my surgeon. The bleeding is gone now and my doc feels it was from the massive amount of burping everything up. He feels it was up higher in my throat. The brown pee is obviously dehydration and I am still peeing it. Figuring that will resolve in the next day or so. I have been able to get a lot of liquids in today and am definately on the mend. Thank you so much for looking out for me though. That is why I love this site.
  24. Current weight: 217.5! Thanks Froggi!
  25. Thanks. It is good to know that I am finally getting into the normal range. I am still peeing brown (have been all day) but am getting more and more fluids in as the day goes on. I have even had some runny mashed potatoes with gravy. Feels good to get on track.
