Do Carbs Slow or Stop Your Loss?
I don't avoid carbs but I do keep them low. I try to eat good carbs but love chips and salsa so I do not always avoid them. I also have a chocolate milkshake here or there so there are more carbs. I don't seem to lose without a few carbs here or there. I do eat fresh fruit and veggies as much as I can.

Should I gain weight?!?!?
I agree that gaining 5 lbs or so would be ok but 20 is alot. You could really hurt yourself by gaining 20.

Unexpected side effects of losing weight.
My face is looking much longer and I have dropped a size and a half in shoes! I am losing crazy sizes in clothes and am having trouble keeping up. I literally had a four foot mountain of clothes on the floor the other day after cleaning out my closet. I am also having to keep close track of my wedding rings so they don't fall off. I plan to have those altered later when I am done losing.

Two Thirds of My Weight Gone!
Well, here I am! I hate sharing this heavy picture but it does show the beginning of my journey. I have come a long way in a short amount of time. Still a bit to go but I am seeing it happen everyday.

What The Hell?
I don't think you are eating around the band unless you are eating mainly mushies and bad stuff. Are you keeping your calories around 1200? Are you keeping your fat low? Are you drinking enough Water? You need water to flush the bad stuff out. A few things to consider.

Does anyone PLAN on having the band removed once they reach their goal?
I believe everyone is right about a) being ready to get banded and; :grouphug: being aware that something can go wrong, and at times, does. I, too, have been doing my research on the sleeve "just in case." My personal two cents: I would much rather be banded and pregnant than bypassed and pregnant. Sleeved, I don't know about.

I finally made it to Stage Solids!
Anything that will go down. Aim for healthy. Eat your proteins first, then veggies, the, if you have room, starches. Just eat slowly and carefully. You may have some restriction from post-op swelling.

First fill (yay!) But only 2cc?
I had 3cc put in at my first fill, was in the ER later that night unable to swallow even my own saliva, had 1cc taken out and now only get between .25cc to .75cc per fill. It is not the amount of the fill, it is the amount of slowly gained restriction you have. Give it time and you will there.

When do you eat your last meal?
Mine was the night before surgery. I had been on my pre-op diet for 10 days and my surgeon said to go ut and have whatever I wanted. We went to Chili's. Check with your surgeon and see what he advise.

2 weeks post op and failing :(
Hang in there. You are not failing. You are exactly where they say you are, in Bandster Hell. You may not get restriction for a fill or two or even three but you WILL get restriction sooner or later and when you do, you can kiss most unhealthy foods goodbye. My band, Gizmo, hates pizza and chicken and hamburger and hot dogs and bread and french fries and cake and Cookies. If I shove it down to him, he throws a massive fit and sends it back up. NOW, that being said, he does like chocolate and ice cream and milkshakes and anything creamy so I have to be careful not to overfeed him or he will get spoiled and send it all to storage. He can be a pack rat at times. Ultimately, it comes down to me. I have to be the deciding force for us. Name him, name him now, and then make him your best friend. Treat him well and he will begin to return the favor. =o) Ok, I finally had a decent meal tonight. Had Cajun Lime Tilapia, Loaded Mashed Potatoes, Steamed Broccoli, a shrimp, and a couple of chips with artichoke dip. Oh yea, and some Mango Lemonade. Went to Applebee's. First meal I have kept all down in months. I FINALLY am learning how to take small bites, eat slow, and chew chew chew. I only ate abit of each and have tons in a take- home box but I hit the all elusive soft stop tonight and was pretty dern proud about it. See, I am still learning too. Its a work in progress. =o)

Please help!!!!!!
Oh my gosh. I totally did not thgink of pineapple juice! I am adding that one to my bag of tricks!! Wonder if grapefruit juice would work the same.

Please Give me Advice!!!!!
Sounds like you are a hair too full OR you need a fews days of liquids to let everything settle down. You may have a bit of swelling going on due to the PBing. Liquids for a few days may help with that.

10 CC band- How many CCs to get restriction?
I have 5.75cc in a 10cc band and am 7 months post-op. I have a bit more weight to lose but think I am at my sweet spot for now. The weight is coming off. I do not eat a ton or I PB but I keep the protein in with a hearty shake every morning. I also then work on healthy foods the rest of the day.

What did you do with your clothes once too big?
I donate mine directly to a person in need. The Lord has always blessed this and refilled my closet with awesome clothes that fit me at virtually no cost. I think when you donate direct, that person feels exceptionally blessed as well.

How much to have band removed?
I think the best thing to do would be to talk with your doctor and your insurance company. All are different. Your choice is your choice and you do not have to give a reason for your question. Best of luck to you on your journey, no matter which road you go down or why.

My Doctor won't tell you how much the fill is. WHY???
My doc doesn't think I should be concerned with how much is in there but I told him that I "just wanna know." He is ok with that and now he lets me know. He teases me but it is all in fun. He is a great doctor and I would trust him even if I did not know how much was in there. I am just nosy and want to know.

Not eating for a week after a fill?
My fills are the same way. I do best on liquids and semi-mushies to mushies for the first week after a fill. Otherwise, I end up stuck and PBing forever. This last fill (followed by a slight unfill) has been exceptionally tight. I have really had to take it easy. It is loosening now and last night I had grilled shrimp and veggies at a local Mexican restaurant. Today, however, my band is back to being super tight and I am pushing it to eat some cheesy mashed potatoes. I just had a small bowl and figure my band will loosen up again later in the day. Mine seems to be highly dependent on the different times of day. Some times are better to eat than others for me. Nothing in the mornings, sometimes not even coffee for a while. Mushy type foods early in the day and then regular food in the evening followed later by a regular food snack (fresh fruit usually and as much as I can get my band to let me eat! - occasionally popcorn)

Frustration setting in...
Sweetie, You are still in the recovery time. Some people do not lose weight at all during this time. Be patient and within a few months, you fills will increase and so will your weight loss. I would not be concerned for AT LEAST another month.
