  1. Hello I will be getting VSG on August 19th. Does anyone who of any books that can help me deal with change and to help me have the right mind set? I have always been over weight since I can remember and my mom brought up a good point on how I am going to respond to this change and how to deal with it.
  2. Did anyone use a abdominal binder for the ride home for comfort? I am just remembering hating the ride home from my gallbladder removal surgery back in November and wished I had some support. Every bump or turn on the road hurt me and I found out about the abdominal binder later on.
  3. Hello I get surgery on August 19th. What are some must needs you need in your hospital bad (I know a lot say you don’t need much) and what are a few things you found you need for after surgery and that would be helpful? I’ll be purchasing things before surgery so I have after.
  4. FINALLY of 4 months having two bumps in the road preventing me to get approved to finally getting the call Thursday from my surgeons office telling me to call them back to schedule surgery and my insurance approved me! They first gave me the date of July 8 but I had to get an AUGUST date due to work schedule for the next 2 months! I been in the process since Dec. 5 (consult day) I am so excited, after I got the call i called my mom, sister, and grandparents with the news with tears in my eyes. All day that day I was so emotional wanting to scream to cry of happiness. I can not wait for my new journey in getting healthy. Family have asked me if I’m excited and scared. All I’ve told them is both but that I am not trying to think of the scary things. .... just wanted to share with all of you
  5. Update: finally got the call that i been waiting for. For the last 2 months the psychologist and my surgeon have been playing phone tag but i just got the call that everything got cleared up, the psychologist will be resubmit the report more clearly saying that he approves me for surgery. Now the waiting still continues now that we have to submit to appeal to my insurance and wait on all that and hope for approval
  6. I’m in Concord Ca going through BASS medical Group Walnut Creek. Finished my process waiting on insurance approval but we also hit a bump in the road where my psych eval report wasn’t completed so waiting on how that is going to be fixed and get me into surgery :)
  7. Does anyone know why a psych eval report wouldn’t say negative or positive? (Hit a bump on the road)
  8. That was exactly 4 weeks ago and I’m waiting to know if he’s sent the report to my surgeon (last Friday I had my last appointment to submit to insurance and they hadn’t received my psych eval. Yes it is insane.
  9. Yea maybe I’ll ask, she said that’s how much I’ll probably be able to take in for a day and I hope that’s not gonna be the case.
  10. It was about multiple things can’t really remember it was 200questions

  12. Hello I’m just playing the waiting game right now until I get the pre-op app. call (we are just waiting on my psych eval report to get to my surgeon last week but I don’t know if they have gotten it yet.) Anyways, I am use to drinking close to a gallon of water everyday. If you were like this as well before your surgery, was it hard for you to lessen your amount of water after surgery? (I was told at my nutritionist appointment that my goal is to have 64 oz. a day which is a little for me. I’m worried I’m going to have a hard time with that.
  13. I believe all psych Evals are different depending on the place you go. At mine they had me doing random stuff like repeating a set of numbers, remembering 4 object till I was asked what they were in order, addition like 2+2 up to 198+198, a depression test, talked about why I chose the surgery I did, talked about what I’ve learned about the surgery. They just to make sure that I’m aware of all things about the surgery. And finally a 200 question bariatric test where at least my psychiatrist sent to Indianapolis to receive the results. All this took 2hrs so prepare to stay that long at most. Hope this helps
  14. Hi that sound like gallbladder situation. 3 months ago i had really bad pain and went to the ER and I had gallstones.
  15. Thank you everyone for the positive words! Update: just came out of my LAST appointment and we are just waiting on my psych evaluation report (i was just told the Dr i did it with sends them late?) and once they receive that they’ll submit for authorization ?
  16. Hi so today is my final doctor supervised weight management appointment and we hope to have received everything to submit authorization ?. Now once I have been authorized, do they give you Surgery date or are you able to have a say in when you want to have it? (I am a college student and can’t afford to skip class)... just curious
  17. Hi I am new to this and I hope you can help. I have one more supervised weight management appointment till we submit for authorization. I am worried because I gained weight by 3lbs and my Appointment is tomorrow’. I been eating healthy and right portions as well, and doing weight training and cardio. my surgeon told me to start introducing exercise and that’s what I been doing as well. My question is has anyone gained during weight management supervised appointment periods? And what happened if so?
