I'm a little over a month post op had the same problem. So I did powerade zero for a while and now that's started tasting gross and water is starting to taste better.

To snack in between meals or not to snack
They have me snack, because I can't get all of my protein in otherwise.

How long did you cover your incisions?
Mine were never covered, just had glue on them but my mom's were covered (she had hers somewhere else) and they told her to leave it as long as she could.

Chick-fil-a : post op
3 weeks post op was when I did and they went down fine. Though from what I can tell from other people's post my doctor doesn't make you stay on the phases very long. You're on unrestricted foods by day 35 post op for my doctor.

How long did you take before going back to work?
I work retail they told me two weeks and then the doctor kept me out another 10 days past that because I wasn't hitting my fluids or protein goals. Officially go back Monday! My mom went back after two weeks to her medical assisting job and then managed to push it to hard and it kept her out of work for almost a month.

Dear Week 3 Stall
I feel that as well! It is squeaking into my week 4 and I just want to drop weight. I'm sure I'm loosing inches but we are in the middle of moving and I can't find my tape measure to check.
-
So confused by my vitamins!!!
I was told to take it the same way you are.

Laying in hospital now
IT gets better. Walking helps honestly and after maybe a week I feel like I had control of my drinking.

Not losing weight!!!
Having a stall in week 3 as well but apparently it's really common my mom had the same problem. I'm hoping next week I'll see something.

It’s crazy the vast differences in plans.
My Puree phase only lasted a week I'm on soft foods now for 2 weeks. I had my surgery 12/20/18

Has anyone kept their surgery a secret?
I kept mine private. My parents and my husband know and my work knows since I obviously am not working right now because I'm recovering from the procedure but I didn't tell anyone else and I didn't post about it on Facebook or anything.

Water intake?
Presurgery I was alway able to hit my 64oz and then some. (especially after I started my liquid diet I was always thirsty) I could probably chug an entire 8oz of water in one sitting presurgery if I tried. I'm 8 day post op and right now I can only seem to get 16oz of water in a day which isn't great at all. I've messed with some different flavoring options to see if a flavored water might make me drink more and it seems powerade zero does the trick. I had about 30oz yesterday.

Less that 10 hours to go...
Good luck!

Just diet and exercise. WOW! Never considered that.
It's because he's 6'3" Skinny AF and eats whatever his heart wants so he thinks it's easy.

Under 3 weeks left....nervous
I was super anxious, I didn't end up gaining any wait over thanksgiving ( I had mine done right before Christmas) he had me do 2 weeks of liquid diet prior to surgery and if you follow it to a T you will loose weight with the liquid diet. I was 276 before liquid diet, day of surgery I was 265. I didn't tell anyone in my family but my mom and my dad (and obviously my husband knew) but then family came up for the holiday and they put two and two together when they saw me gimping around sucking on a protein shake. I do agree with your boyfriend that you should tell someone else just in case. My mom was my backup in case my husband couldn't get off (which he couldn't because of it being so close to the holidays BUT he works in the hospital I had my procedure so he stay with me until they took me back went to work and spent his lunch break in my room then came right after he got off work)

Just diet and exercise. WOW! Never considered that.
Something similar happened to me on Christmas. My mom actually had vsg on thanksgiving and I had mine on the 20th of this month. She got it because she has degenerative bone disease in her hips down to her toes so there's a lot of work outs she actually can't physically do so that holds her back.I got mine because I have worked with a trainer did the diets and could only ever loose 50lbs and would get stuck no matter what I did. I was at my dad's on Christmas and he said something and I laughed really hard and obviously it hurts since I was only 5 days post op and I held my stomach and said ow and my brother was like "You chose to have the surgery you have no right to complain you could have just gone back to your personal trainer." Oh yeah cause that worked so well the 3 years I trained with him. People are just ignorant.

My first post Op weigh In and Dr appt
I can't wait until my first appointment on Tuesday. If my scale in my bathroom is right I've lost 10lbs since surgery but i'm holding my breath until I see the doctor to confirm.

Only few days in.....
I had mine on the 20th and it was 4 days in when it hit and now mentally I crave so much but I personally know it's not reflux because I had reflux before surgery so I know my reflux issues. So many people talked about not having hunger after surgery but mine woke me up in the middle of the night and was like "Hey you, what are you doing? Eat something!"

Post op vitamins
I use the barifusion vitamin (mostlly because my doctor gets them in and you can buy them from him like $5ish cheaper

Dying for soda
I feel this, I stopped soda after my first appointment with the nutritionist pre-op. I haven't had a single craving until last night. I had a dream that I chugged a 32oz cherry coke and ate an entire take out container of shrimp fried rice. Woke up with my stomach hurting (sympathy pains from the dream? haha). The gas pains aren't worth it I just know it.

time frame for feeling good?
Everyone is different. My mom had hers the day of Thanksgiving and 4 days post op other then not being able to bend over without discomfort she felt fine, in fact she felt so good that she over did it and pulled something in her stomach and had to be put out of work for even longer. Myself though, I didn't even leave the house until day 5 (because it was Christmas) and by 5pm I felt exhausted and I could barely stay away. I also had to sleep on my couch because sleeping in my bed was absolutely painful. I slept in my bed the first time last night with minimum discomfort. I went to wal-mart to do some shopping today and I was there about 40 minutes and only the last 5-10 minutes of the trip. I find getting in and out of the car has gotten easier too. I'll be honest I haven't taken any pain meds since I got home from the hospital because they were making me throw up. They also didn't give me liquid they gave me pills and it's awful to swallow I choke on them. Today has been my best day by far. I even cleaned up some mess from the Christmas chaos yesterday. My doctor said the best way to heal is to get up and move. Take it slow but don't be a couch potato all day. It can only go up from here!

Choices of liquids
This is what I want to know. The first two days I could only get 8oz in of fluids now I get around 30 or so and I just feel full all day. I'm 6 days post op.
