    Help

I felt the same way for the first two weeks post op, it'll get better once you introduce puree/soft foods into your diet. I swear the day I was able to puree some food and eat it I felt 10x better. I was still weak and if I stood up to fast I got dizzy but I didn't feel shaky anymore or exhausted.

    When can we eat rice

I was actually encouraged around your time to introduce some brown rice into my diet due to my vitamin levels. I wouldn't rely on rice that much. Not super rewarding. Take it slow when introducing it to your pouch.
  3. Your extra skin is pulling you down some which can attribute to you thinking you are getting "two small". Also when we loose the weight so fast it's not by means of straight up exercise so we all tend to look like that at first. Bulking up the muscle will help but over time you won't look like that anymore either. It took me some time to not look what I considered "sickly"

    Clothing Rollercoaster

I haven't done a full overhaul of my closet yet but I've gotten things here or there but I'm at that point that the shorts I'm wearing now (that I just got a month ago) are so big that if I put my phone and wallet in the pocket it weighs them down and they start to slide down but I'm also at a point where It's like why am I going to buy more fall is almost here and then I'm gonna have to buy all new fall clothing. I think I will overhaul soon though as my weight loss has definitely slowed down and I'm creepy close to my goal weight.

    Fruit

I eat most fruits but only a cupful a day if I have any. I don't have any issues tolerating fruits.

    Vitamins

I do the one a day baratric multivitamin from here but it smells gross and if I don't take it with food my pouch will try to spit it up and then I usually have gross burps afterwords but to be fair, I can't even get the chewables down.

    Where are my water guzzlers?

Recently I've been able to chug which made me panic at first because I was so use to having to take it slow and I just accidently chugged one day and was like Oh this doesn't hurt!
  8. I can't wait to start my skin removal journey!!!

    Alcohol after Gastric Sleeve

My doctor said never but I've had a few sips at 6 months post op with no issues.
  10. I felt that for sure prior to surgery. I hated going out and my husband would drag me to hang out with friends and I would be miserable the entire time. Post op I had it a little bit because i felt crappy after surgery (sore, tired of the liquid diet) and I didn't go out often. But once I started feeling a little better (maybe 3 weeks post op?) I started really enjoying going out. I felt better in general and people I knew would make comments saying I looked smaller or happier and that really boosted my confidence.
  11. Hernia repair is a valid excuse considering if they found a hernia during your surgery they would fix it during you procedure anyways
  12. GNC lean shakes are good, also try unjury. My nutritionist actually gave me a packet from them that was a protein chicken broth.

    Ladies TMI- Period Questions

Go to your GYN they should be able to help. I have had regular periods but they've gotten a lot heavier since surgery (which is saying something because they were heavy before surgery) so I have an appointment next week to talk to them about it.
  14. Just tell them you're having a surgery that is private and you'd rather not talk about it, or that you need a week off for medical related issues.

    feeling cold..

Same, I have a sweater stash in my car, at my work, at my moms. I also have a giant basket full of blankets in my living room because I get cold SOOO easily.

    Overate and feeling it

I did it once recently. We were stuck in traffic for four hours and when we finally got to where we were going that I was starving and I ate so much so fast and LET ME TELL YOU I will never do that again, the pain was awful.
  17. Depends on your plan and if you have issues usually. My doctor told me to tell them EVERY SINGLE TIME I have an issue extra skin related, rash, tears etc. So right now my current issue has been there is a stretch mark that I have on my hip that likes to split open because of my skin. So I have them log it every single time it opens up and if it gets any infections so there's more likely a chance for insurance to cover the surgery. The doctor said if I make the complaints insurance will see it every time.

    Exercising after the sleeve...

I could do low impact walking right away (it helps keep away the blood clots!) then about 6 weeks post op I was able to start going to they gym for other work outs.

    After surgery questions 😊

    1) I measure and weigh all my food. I eat slow and I can usually feel that it's my limited with my measured food. 2) So I use to do three meals a day BUT I wasn't hitting my calories because my pouch doesn't tolerate as much as it is suppose to and it was giving my some kidney issues. So I do breakfast.. 2 hours later a snack, then 2 hours later lunch, then 2 hours later a snack then 2 hours later dinner. My snacks in between are protein. Sometimes it'll be a protein bar or something. 3) I'm an assistant manager so if i'm in the mornings I'm by myself so I try to run back for a snack when no one is in the store. (I work in a small store) My team members are also aware of my need to eat often so they usually can cover the floor while I run in the back and get food.
  20. 6 month post op and no more acid reflux! My siatic nerve pain has gotten a lot better too.
  21. refried beans for sure. Soft food phase I would eat them mixed with some lowfat sourcream or salsa.

    Miscarriage Post Sleeve

I haven't tried yet but they made us take a class on post surgery pregnancies and we were told you have to wait 2 years post op and then even then you still have a decent chance of miscarriage because of the diet and your body still trying to adjust. WE were told the longer that you wait the more likely you won't have a miscarriage. I have had one friend who got pregnant post op.. I think she was at the year and a half mark and carried a healthy baby but prior to surgery she couldn't get pregnant on her own.

Big Pouch Days and Little Pouch Days

I have days like this, I brought it up to my nutritionist and she said it happens sometimes. She did mention maybe there's something common on the small pouch days that I could be eating or drinking that might trigger it (like certain sugar substitutes and stuff) So now I'm suppose start digging into the ingredients of stuff on the days I have a little pouch day and see if there's any similarities.
