  1. I'm so very sorry. I don't know what I would do if salads made me sick!!! (Probably die of starvation, or gain all my weight back...) Can you eat cooked veggies?
  2. Below Deck. Is. The. Best. Mr. asked me why I love so and I told him because it has all of my favourite things: water, travel, gourmet food, alcohol and crazy people. LOLOLOLzzzzzz
  3. Just leave out the bacon topping, sub the chicken stock with mushroom or vegetable broth, and voila! It's vegetarian! (and yes, its so easy BF can totally do it solo, lol) Edited to add: you could probably also make it vegan if you lose the cream...i think it would still be creamy without it if you cook the sweet potatoes longer? The. Recipe: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/geoffrey-zakarian/sweet-potato-and-corn-chowder-4662171
  4. I fully admit I'm a reality show addict. With that said: BELOW DECK!!!
  5. Ah, I've missed seeing pics of Robert & Bobby (adorbs!!!). Like I have always said, if you are EVER in my neck of the woods, I'm taking you out for dinner/drinks. Or salad. Or take pictures of salad. Or play dress-up. LOL. I always use the same dressing on all my salads: a vinaigrette a make by the litre: lemon juice + ACV + Braggs' Soy + Sesame Oil + sweetener. I could drink this stuff alone (and I have been know to do so when there is some left in my bowl, lol). And YES! Spring is finally here to stay (it totally snowed here a week and a half ago!). Soooo glad. Now if only Corona would go away so I can wear some spring dresses out the door....
  6. Hey @chayarg, its been a while...it IS tough during quarantine when we just sit around at home all day Are you still tracking food and your weight? I had sort of slacked off a bit...I still track, but not as meticulously as I did 2 months ago. And I had basically stopped running for 3 months after PS. And I would sometimes miss a daily weigh in or two. As a result, I gained a few pounds. So I went back to tracking everything, started running again (no more PS open wounds, yay!), stopped eating past 7pm, and made sure I got on the scale every morning. I knew this routine worked for me, so I figured I should get back to it. (ASIDE: Now that I think of it, my slacking sort of coincides with my sabbatical from BP...co-incidence?) Anyhoo, I'm rooting for you to continue your downward trend ❤️ #youCanDoIt
  7. Its, been a while, but glad to see one of my fave threads still going strong with so much deliciousness. I LOVE looking at pictures of food. Is that weird? LOL. You guys have stepped up your plating game! I've basically stuck to eating my go to meal 95% of the time: salads with stuff on top, here's some. I know, I know, kinda boring...but DELICIOUS. I heart salad 4-ever. The other 5% of the time, I may eat some of what I made for the fam. Here was last night's dinner: Sweet potato and corn chowder w/ crispy bacon topping:

...and here is one more. I am especially pleased that my butt has some minor protrusion in this dress, instead of its usual pancake look. #squatsAreMyFriend My PS swelling is still hanging around on my lower tummy, but it is getting smaller....slowly.

Wow, I just went through several pages of gorgeousness. This is what happens when you step away for a while! Everyone looks soooooooo good. I would like to comment on every single one, but that will take me all afternoon. Just keep 'em coming ladies (and gentlemen ). ????????? Like most, I have been living in work out gear (or pajamas, or underwear, lol) the past several weeks, so my OOTD game has been lacking. However, last week, I got a few dresses in the mail that I had ordered for an event I was supposed to go to, but was cancelled (eff you, Coronavirus). So whats girl to do when she's all dressed up and got nowhere to go? Well, put on a fashion show and post it on the OOTD thread, of course:
  10. So yeah, that changed quickly. New info and third-party policies have now forced us to do otherwise! Things are going cray-cray...
  11. Toronto, Canada. A quick google search tell me there are 19 active cases in T.O. and the GTA (as of yesterday) I am not sick, been in contact with anyone (that I know of) who has been sick, or traveled to any hotspots, or been around anyone who has (that I know of). My city has not enacted any States of Emergency, but has issued almost daily updates, which I keep up with. I am going about my business as I normally do while practicing good hygiene (as I normally do). I have lunch dates today and tomorrow that I am keeping. And a date night tomorrow night with Mr & friends that I already have an OOTD picked out for. I have not "stocked up" beyond what I would normally do; if anything I should be going grocery shopping today, but given the news that erupted yesterday, alot of panicked folks are flooding the stores and I don't want to deal with that and them right now. I went this morning, and turned around and went home after seeing the craziness at the costco parking lot. I probably will avoid Costco for the next little while, as it seems to be the mecca for stockpilers. I did stop by a regular grocery store and picked non-volume, regular-priced romaine lettuce for my salads since I'm all out. No craziness there. I didn't check if there was toilet paper though, LOL. Our client sites have implemented WFH policies, but we work from home most of the time anyway. The Kid's school is still open. She has a semi-formal she is attending tonight, that has not been cancelled. The only things that we are doing/have done differently is (1) telling our parents to stay away from crowds as much as they can, and give us a call if they need stuff so we can do the errands for them. They are elderly and not the healthiest folks in the world, so it makes sense for them, and (2) totally scrapping the plan of going to Europe for vacay in the spring, which I am pretty bummed about, and (3) seriously contemplating pulling the plug on the Kid's summer plans in Asia, which she is pretty bummed about. Otherwise, status quo around here, unless new info/third-party policies forces us to do otherwise. Wash your hands!

Forget the legs. Check out his extensor digiti minimi muscles! P.S. I had to look that up, LOL
  13. OMG. I am very sad for you. If I coudn't eat salad, I would likely starve in protest.

I'm enjoying pretty much the same temp as you (I'm at 12°C) with sunshine! Left the parka in the closet and downgraded to a jean jacket today P.S. Hats are my friend these days as I am seriously shaggy and in dire need of a haircut...
  15. I had (and still do) a bike when I was heavier (235 heighest weight pre-op). There are weight limits on bikes, which you can find out quite easily on google (or at the store). I just googled mine, and it has a weight limit of 330lbs. I had bad knees also (not anymore), and I remember that it didn't bother me too much (knee pain bothered me more just by walking). Your seat height and the distance of the seat from handles are factors in making this better or worse on you knees. I will say that I bike much, much more now than when I was bigger because, well, its just easier now because I'm fitter. Also, I could not go for very long before because it hurt my butt! The weight loss totally helped with that and can go much longer/further. (Though I do still wear padded shorts).
  16. For me, I learned that I was "full" when I felt a tightness in my chest (and still do...I never get that full stomach feeling anymore since surgery) It's very easy for me to cross the line from being ok to too full, so I have also learned to eat slowly so that I have time to recognize it before I go too far.
  17. Lots and lots of running, I think. LOL
  18. Here's a visual (the "after" picture was taken this past January, waist measurement that day was 26" (I'm a tiny bit smaller in the waist area now as my TT swelling has gone down since....)
  19. You are right, everyone loses differently. Some people carry their weight in their mid-section, so their waist percentage reduction will not be the same as someone who carries their weight in their legs (like me). With that said, I went from a size 18-20 in women's pants to a 0-2. As we know though, sizing differs across clothing manufacturers, so to put it in a better perspective, I went from a 43.5" waist to 25.5". Then I had a Tummy Tuck a couple months ago, and now I'm just a smidge under 25". P.S. Percentage-wise the waist is the area where I lost the most. You may want to ask more people to get a better idea, especially with folks who carry their weight in their tummies.

    Awwwww....I love Marvin ❤️
  21. This was one of my FAVOURITE past times during weight loss phase! I organized ALL my "skinny" and "less fat" clothes by size in sections of my closet and I would go in every week or so and try on clothes in the next smaller sized section, then give myself a self-five when they fit, and maybe dance around a bit. Eventually they all moved to another room and formed into that giant pile of clothes that I'm too lazy to sort. I suspect like many of us, you will start to love shopping again! Come check us out/join us on the OOTD thread:
  22. Me too. If I only eat greens (and nothing else) I can eat LOTS. (I'm 1 yr 4 mnths out)
  23. ms.sss replied to sillykitty's topic in The Lounge
No pic on that link! I wanna see!
  24. Yep, these were my carb intake levels as well during weight loss phase. BUT I counted NET carbs for my totals (All carbs minus dietary fibre minus sugar alcohols). Are you numbers total or NET? I stayed away from added sugar, bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, beans, root vegetables and fruit (except the occasional berry). Of course there were a few days in there when I would have a drink or a bite of dessert but these were very, very rare occasions. I could probably count on one hand how many times I indulged in carbs during weight loss phase.
