How much Protein were you hitting right after post-op?
Thanks, Matt. I'd be ecstatic if I hit 50 grams in a day. I tried the Protein20 waters and I found them too sweet but I guess if I water them down it might work. Crossing my fingers!

How much Protein were you hitting right after post-op?
Hello! I just wanted to ask as I'm just 12 days post-op but I am struggling with getting my protein in. I would hit just about 15-20 grams and my doctor wanted me to hit 50 a day. How many grams of protein did you hit when you were at this stage? I'm still at the full liquids stage and I'm having a hard time with my protein shakes and protein water as I just can't get them down. Am I doomed?

Silken Tofu- what stage?
Got it, thank you!

Silken Tofu- what stage?
Hey guys! I'm 10 days post-op and am now on the full liquids stage. I've been having the shakes, clear soups and blending some of the chunkier soups I have ( chicken, pumpkin and chowder) but I was wondering if any of you tried silken-tofu at this stage? Is it okay to have it in miso soup? Unblended? I mean it breaks down pretty easily as it's super soft but was wondering if this is okay. I've heard people blend it in shakes for some extra protein too but was wondering how it reacts to your new sleeves both blended and unblended? Thank you!

SOUP, 911
Do you guys add protein powder to your soups? Or do you blend meat and other sources of protein in? I'm still in the full liquid stage (Stage 2) but I'm getting sick of the protein powder flavor if I add it to my soup ( I use an unflavored one but it still has that aftertaste) Any tips would be appreciated!

Time between drinking and sleeping
Hello again! Sorry for all these questions but I just have so many things to ask the long term vsg patients out there. I woke up in the middle of the night to this weird full feeling like there was too much water in my stomach- which there probably was as I took a few sips before bed (which was what I'd normally do pre-surgery as I sometimes wake up thirsty) - but I woke up wanting to throw up and just not feeling good and I wasn't sure what to do. I'm still sleeping on several pillows so I'm not fully on my back ( the stitches hurt less this way) but do you guys have tips on some bedtime routines? should I sleep with more of an incline? How long do you space out drinking/eating before going to bed? 2-3 hours?

5th Day Post-Op and always feeling full?
Thanks for the tip!

5th Day Post-Op and always feeling full?
Thank you! I'm still trying to experiment with liquids but I do get the weird sensation with water compared to me drinking juice- so maybe water doesn't sit well on my sleeve as well. I'll look out for protein water- that might do the trick and get in some extra protein there as well. Thank you so much!

5th Day Post-Op and always feeling full?
Thank you so much- that's quite a relief. I've always been a water drinker all my life and I was scared I won't get back to that point anymore. A lot to adjust for me a from now on but I'm excited. And so awesome to hear that you've been on the sleeve for 7 years- it's an inspiration. Thank you again

5th Day Post-Op and always feeling full?
Hello! 5th day after surgery but only my second day on clear liquids as I had a lot of complications after surgery - it was rough, I have to be honest. My doctor gave me the goal of at least 40 ounces of liquids to start and I'm slowly trying to get through it but is it normal to always feel full and bloated? Even just on clear liquids? I'm currently drink broth, juice and water for now (mixed with some medication) and will start on full liquids (shakes and soups) soon but just wanted to ask if this full feeling eventually goes away? or do you feel this all day? or is it because my stomach is still swollen and healing? Even if I'm not drinking I still feel full. I take small sips and usually try to finish about 200 ml every hour- am I drinking too much too soon? Thank you!

My Journey 8 weeks
This is so great to hear and congratulations! I do feel a bit of relief from your post. I'm having my surgery in a few days and just have been trying to get in as much info as I can. Thanks for this! I do have a question as I'm anxious about not having enough water- do you get the required 64 oz daily? I feel like that would be a challenge for me and was wondering how the process was for you, if you don't mind me asking?

Few days before surgery and I'm anxious! Any tips?
Hello, Not sure if this is the right place I should be posting this ( if it is, I apologize and feel free to delete this. I'm very new to forums) . I'm having my surgery in a few days and I'm feeling as anxious as ever. Anxious for the surgery itself but more anxious for the life after. I know this is a voluntary thing and I should deal with the consequences of my choices but I can't help but feel scared and alone. I only told my family as I'm not sure how my friends would take the news but I do plan to tell them after. I know not a lot of people will understand but I do know that those who have gone through the same journey will. Just putting this out there. xx
