Smoking
Just updating this with... I don't recommend weed after surgery because I just ate WAY more than I should and now I feel sick... but still starving.

Sadness
I've been to therapists on and off since I was a young child. Never for depression. It doesn't help me because I just argue OR the therapist makes me feel bad. Been to definitely over 30. It's just sporadically since surgery. Never had depression problems prior. I just feel like sometimes I made the wrong choice and that like a lot of other weight related choices I've made, it was pointless.

Sadness
I feel some sadness because the only person I have in my life is my mother and every complication I've had, she just says "I have nothing supportive to say because I told you so" to and from the hospital. And she told me last week she was MAD I needed my gallbladder removed, even though it started going bad years ago. She told me she is convinced it is all related and I can't tell her otherwise. I don't have anyone in my life who supported this choice, so every time something bad happens, I just feel worse.

Sadness
I am 2.5 months out and still really struggling with sadness at not being the weight I expected to be. Yes yes, "what did you expect, to lose 100lbs in 3 months?" I don't know... maybe deep down inside I had hoped I would. I can't get over my impatience. I always want instantaneous results with everything. I know and knew going into this that that wouldn't be the case here. But I still end up crying and upset since I feel like I've gone through a lot of BS since surgery and I'm not happy with the results I am getting. In this particular moment, I just feel really depressed. I feel like I have such a long road before I lose another 100lbs and then so much more pain and money with all the plastics I want. And at this point I just anticipate endless complications. It just feels like a neverending road of pain and disappointment. Sorry, feeling bleak today and just needed to get it out.

Check to make sure your protein is covered by insurance
I have BCBS Highmark and they will not cover it because it's considered a food product.

Did you have to share a room in the hospital?
I also had a private room. I would ask if you could pay extra for one. I didn't vomit at all... there's nothing in you to vomit after surgery. But I don't think I could handle someone bitching or snoring or watching TV when I want silence, etc. I don't like roommates in life, much less in hospital. lol.

Dietician Stuff...help me not be a jerk...
Keto was very successful for me pre-op last year. But low fat, low carb is the new life. Your body and metabolism will completely change post-op. Give it a chance.

Dietician Stuff...help me not be a jerk...
You'll stick to low fat if you don't want to risk dumping or gallstones. Your new tummy isn't made to handle fats like it was before.

Rando Pouch Question - RNY
Basically the pouch just holds food briefly and then it passes. Which is why you need to chew well.

Rando Pouch Question - RNY
It doesn't make stomach acid. Your bile is connected to the old intestinal limb and digestion occurs at the Y, not in the stomach. There's mucus in the stomach that helps with breakdown.

Smooth Moves
Yeah, I eat 250 calories a day, mostly non-solids, so I think it's just all being utilized?

Smooth Moves
I was on laxatives for a week leading up to the ER visit, including suppositories. Then when the ER said I had no feces much less an impaction, the surgeon's decided I shouldn't be arbitrarily taking laxatives when I am not producing any waste because all it was doing was making my stomach hurt... Miralax and Colace.

Smooth Moves
I've already discussed it with both surgeons in my office. I even went to the ER at Day 10 once and there was no poop in me at all, as shown on a CT scan. They said it's unusual but if I have no discomfort not to worry about it. I eventually went at Day 17. Usually I go at Day 8, but it's been about 13 days so I decided to try some laxatives. A small amount came out. I'm good.

Smooth Moves
I just need to learn that 8-17 days without poop is my normal and not to push it.

Smooth Moves
I hadn't pooped in 13 days, but the senna plus 8 stool softeners made it happen about an hour ago. I'm good now. Thanks all.

New journey
I didn't crush any meds except a massive Potassium pill for the first 30 days. It was huuuuge though.

Smooth Moves
Is it safe to drink Smooth Moves twice in a day if it's been 12 hours? I am getting mixed responses from my non-WLS friends. lol. Package doesn't say anything specific.

Swallowing Pills

mousecat medical/dietary saga thread
Had some severe dry-heaving again yesterday and nausea. I think it was from a strong pain killer I took, however. I have eaten about 8oz in a week and dropped 10lbs. I feel pretty weak. Still off work til Tuesday. Just don't wanna eat or do anything.

Embarrassed!
Happens to me postop if I drink with zero food in my tummy or digestive tract. Just comes right out without warning. Fortunately has only happened at home!
