I am obsessed with cottage cheese now. I liked it before, but never bought it or went out of my way to get it... now I eat a half cup to a cup daily.

Food Before and After Photos
Ordered a falafel and lamb shawarma salad. Yes, I know I shouldn't have had the falafel because it was technically fried, but the carbs weren't terrible. I only have this pic because I literally only managed two pieces of lamb and one ball of falafel so it basically looked the same. LOL. Leftovers for a week.

Orthostatic Hypotension
I did go to yoga this morning and got lightheaded a few times, but fortunately it is "flowy" so my body has time to adjust so it isn't severe. And I just stop for a moment if it gets bad. I start with the trainer Monday so def something to discuss.

Orthostatic Hypotension
I'm glad I'm not alone. I thought it was something unrelated to the surgery at first.

Orthostatic Hypotension
I was at 400 calories a day but recently, in the past 3 weeks, have been moved up to the 600-700s. My carbs have gone from the 20s to upper 30s. I'll be adding in a piece of fruit so I'll probably be around 800. I've been I a huge calorie deficit. Been meeting my protein, though. In the 80s typically, daily. Dietitian gets my food logs often and is very happy with my intake... just, nothing is happening. I did Atkins last year and lost the exact same amount of weight and stalled at the exact same weight (I ended up giving up and pigging out and regaining). I tried adding in a bunch of salt to some Gatorade today but it tasted like the ocean, lmao. I don't really know how much I should add. I just find it bizarre that this is beginning now when it's been nearly two months since I've lost weight. I lost 68lbs in the first 2 months and nothing since. Figured my body would have gotten dizzy while I was losing weight... not so long during a stall. Anyways it sucks and I get dizzy sitting sometimes, too. My head just starts to feel like there's a lot of pressure, like I am holding my breath.

Orthostatic Hypotension
Yeah my normal BP has always been in the low 100s over the low 70s. Now it's in the 80s over the 40s. My braaaiiinn.

Orthostatic Hypotension
I am trying to stay positive... I just feel very beat down over the last 4 months for little "reward". I feel much less healthy than I did before. Sure, I'm a pants size down but whatever. I've missed over a month from work due to complications, and as soon as one resolves something new happens. It's just so discouraging. You never hear about the bad things that happen to people, only the positive things.

Orthostatic Hypotension
I did not have hypertension and was on no medications for any comorbidities. I've always had great BP. I feel like I drink a ton during the day now. My electrolytes were normal, which is weird. I'm going to add salt to food now and see what happens... I REALLY hope this goes away because I just started yoga again, which I've been waiting to do for so long, and I feel very dizzy.

Orthostatic Hypotension
I drink one daily. My electrolytes are fine. Even my sodium was in the normal range, although on the low end. I am scared this is permanent. I had NO health problems before surgery and now I've had so many. I think I officially regret this choice. I start with my trainer next week and I am nervous I will be very dizzy doing intense exercise. I also haven't lost any weight in 7 weeks now, despite the high ketone levels and the surgeon can't figure out why. I hate this.

Orthostatic Hypotension
I ended up in the emergency room today after my lightheadedness and vision loss (vision going black) rapidly progressed after the past 3 weeks. It's a little fuzzy when I sit, but when I stand, I get very, very dizzy and my vision goes dark and I get some confusion. After a ton of tests (labs, ekg, chest xray, urine, orthostatic BP tilt test) ,and a consult with my bariatric surgeon, I was told I had orthostatic hypotension. The surgeon's office said that some people develop this after rapid weight loss and I can try adding salt to my food to raise my BP. Does this get better? Has anyone experienced this? No one told me this was a possible effect of the surgery. I've already had an ulcer, hernia, and gallbladder removal and now this. It's pretty scary because I have to hold onto the wall and stuff sometimes when I walk, and I am afraid I may get dizzy while driving. I just had some heavily salted mashed cauliflower but still feel off.

magnesium citrate. extreme pain. help.
14 hours later and the M.o.M. worked! The bottle says within 6 hours... well, it took 14 but I am okay with that. So much smoother than the liquid magcitrate and no painful side effects. Thank Jeebus!!!!

magnesium citrate. extreme pain. help.
I can taste it 100% if mixed in cold stuff. I heat it up with hot tea now... dissolves much better and the tea masks the "imaginary" flavor.

Eating Alternative
I know your pain, as you've probably seen in my numerous posts about this (including the one right below this one about mag citrate). I AM eating salads, etc, and it still isn't helping. Miralax does nothing for me. And neither does anything else. I'm about to give up and just poop every 3 weeks or whenever my body feels like it. =/ Very frustrating.

Methadone and Gastric Bypass
Vivitrol is the go-to now; I'd see if I could try that instead - the pill form.

Phentermine
Phentermine worked for ne initially but I thankfully randomly checked my hr at CVS and it was 165 AT REST. I was immediately pulled off it. The second time I took it it didn't help at all.

nutritionist FINALLY agreed to see me.
My mom said the same thing... they got my money and now they don't care about the follow up. They should have brought someone else on board to handle post-op patients. I feel like it is irresponsible of them to perform this type of surgery and then drop off all support.

nutritionist FINALLY agreed to see me.
I really just wanna talk to a dieitian. I've taken some random advice from people on FB and here and I ended up gaining some weight. I printed out the last 2 full months of daily food logs and emailed them to the dieitian for my appt. on Wednesday. I hope she can help.

nutritionist FINALLY agreed to see me.
I'm at almost 4 months, not 4 weeks. I have stalled for the last for 4 weeks. lol.

magnesium citrate. extreme pain. help.
It's been 6 days since my magcitrate horrorshow and I haven't used the bathroom since. I've since been diligent with my 3x day Colace, 1x day Miralax, and added in a mag citrate pill in the evenings. Took some milk of magnesia about 6 hours ago to no effect. I've tried everything. I give up! Not sure if it's safe to take senna AND milk of mag the same day? I gotta get something movin'. I think this may be the most annoying thing to deal with.

Can I afford the post-op diet?
I save hundreds a month simply from not ordering food or going out to eat. And food costs are also down because I only need 5 bites of something. Definitely a plus on the pros and cons list of the surgery.

Post Op Bra Size
I bought a 3 pack of cotton sports bras with zero support from Walmart for like 7$. That's what I will be wearing until ???? lol. I'm not shelling out any cash for real bras until this has all plateu'd Way too expensive. I'll just be a droopy mess until then. *shrug*

At my goal weight a week away from 7 months post-op
I would pay money to see your food logs. I have got to know your secrets. lol!
