Okay...so I have surgery in the morning. Been on totally clear for 2 days, and, um, it comes right back out the other end liquid...every time I drink or even have a popsicle! Is this normal??

Yes, it's normal :) If liquid is the only thing you're consuming, it's the only thing that'll come out of you.

If you're flavoring your drinks with sugar free flavors, keep an eye on that too. They can have a laxative effect.

Does anyone else have to do a bowel cleanse?? I have to do liquids for 2 days then my doc wants me to drink that terrible stuff out of a jug which REALLY cleans you out. I just had to do it for colonoscopy so Im not thrilled at having to do it again!

It seems that this is not the usual course of pre op prep?

Not too many require it, but some do. Well you won't have to worry about doing #2 right after surgery cause you will be shiny clean inside. Yeah it isn't all giggles and laughs, last doctor who ordered it for me, by the time I got through I wanted him drawn, quartered and then castrated . He should call himself blessed he was 50 miles away from my wrath! Now Tomkitten when he went through "the purge" in his pictures you can see lime Jello remnants still hanging on the colon wall in a few places, and I know he had expelled all he could. I am not due for another colonoscopy until 2022 unless Drs Needleman and Noria are feeling froggy🐸 and since they have been visiting the upper half of my digestive system, they have curiosity to view the lower half too. If they do, me and the Christmas Goose will have something in common, somebody. wrung our necks to keep us from quacking and squaking too much.🐦

Happens to me postop if I drink with zero food in my tummy or digestive tract. Just comes right out without warning. Fortunately has only happened at home!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
