I thought I was in the clear...
Yeah, the bleeding part should probably be mentioned to the doc. As you may have seen on another post about my personal poops.... I went to the ER after 10 days and I was friggin' POOPLESS. I didn't poop until Day 15 and it was a micro poop and then on Day 17 I had the real poops. It was another EIGHT DAYS until I pooped again (today). No constipation though. I did take Miralax, glycerin suppositories, and Colace because I thought there HAD to be something up there and it will definitely get things RUMBLING. Even if, in my case, nothing appeared. #ghostbowels Anyways, at least take Colace and Miralax. You don't want to go to the ER and have a doctor stick his finger up your butt like I did. Or maybe you do... I don't judge.

No pizza for 4-5 months???
Preach. I had a few people tell me that they "seriously questioned whether I was ready for surgery" and that it probably wasn't right for me, when I posted pre-op that I was really nervous and that I had cheated on my pre-op diet. Well a giant middle finger to them because I am doing great. It's no one's place to ask someone else if they are ready for surgery. You can privately think that, but I am sure they have thought this over before doing it and are posting in a state of anxiety or worry. Plus, OP ALREADY HAD THE SURGERY according to her side stats soooooo... no point in asking that because it's a little too late regardless. I never thought I could go this long without Taco Bell... but it's been two months and look at me now. lmao.

Self esteem
I can tell you I have more self-esteem now at 240lbs than I did at 140. I was skinny and fit and had a 6-pack and HATED my body. I thought I was the most disgusting thing to walk this earth. Becoming fat was in a twisted way a blessing because I learned to love me for ME and not for how I looked. I was vain and self-absorbed and would pick at every invisible fat roll when I was skinny. Self-esteem should never be connected to the way you look. The only reason it is for some people, I think, is because society says it's "bad and wrong" to be overweight. Well, as a former skinny person... if you don't love yourself, you won't love your body no matter how it looks. Now I hope to lose the weight so my inner confidence matches my outward appearance.

Hair loss
Just dealing. lol. I ordered keratin supplements and biotin/collagen shampoo/conditioner and keratin masques. But really, there's nothing to do about it very much so you just roll with it. Meh, it'll come back someday.

Non-Stim Diet Pills and WLS
PREFACE: I WAS ON MY PROTEIN SHAKE SITE BUYING PROTEIN SHAKES AND THEY ARE A BODY-BUILDING/MILITARY MRE SITE AND HAVE THESE THINGS ON THERE AND I WAS JUST READING ABOUT IT - I AM NOT INTENDING ON PURCHASING FOR DIETING PURPOSES BUT AM JUST CURIOUS BECAUSE IT SAYS IT GIVES YOU MORE ENERGY AND MENTAL ACUITY AND I ALWAYS NEED HELP WITH THAT, LOL.. (I can sense the scolding from afar) My protein shake site, Redcon1, sells these non-stimulant weight loss pills that are supposedly T3 hormones (L-Thyronine). I followed this down the rabbit hole a bit and saw that some people said they used it to get over weight loss plateaus. BUT, I also read it is really good for an energy boost and just overall mental sharpness. I was wondering if anyone used anything like this for energy? I am always dragging ass (and always have my entire life, basically) and I can't take stimulant anything (it gives me panic attacks + ulcer + no thanks). I don't drink coffee, soda or tea for that reason. I obviously don't need it for weight loss - but a non-stimulant energy supplement could be helpful? The one on Redcon1 does have more weight-related stuff in it, like garcinia cambogia and linoleic acid, but there are ones on Amazon that are JUST Thyronine and nothing else. This isn't something I would consider taking while I am dealing with tummy troubles.

Making a Bariatric Pal Order: Any "Must Try" Products?
She says they just dissolve in your mouth, basically. I think she said the chocolate was dry. She's frozen some for me whenever I can have normal food again. lol.

No pizza for 4-5 months???
I was told to never have bread again (or pasta, potatoes, rice). So unless it's a cauliflower crust, I don't plan on having it. I can have one piece of whole wheat toast at 8-9 months, and that's only if I get all my protein in first, so probably unlikely I will ever have room for starchy foods.

RNY 12/17 Over inflated
I had zero gas pain post-op because my surgeon said he spent a good amount of time sucking it all back out. lol. But everyone says GasX helps. I don't understand why it would help, but I think they have dissolvable tabs you can take.

Making a Bariatric Pal Order: Any "Must Try" Products?
I have a tonnnn of bariatricpal stuff at home but haven't been able to try much yet, only the sloppy joe entree, which I really like. My mother is diabetic and orders their food and says the pancake mix is really good, the lentil and chicken curries, veggie chili, and the mushroom soup. She also gets the jerkies. I did try the tomato soup and found it off.

Could Someone 'Splain This To Me?
Oh snap. This is an old thread and I walked into some drama. EXITING. LMAO.

Could Someone 'Splain This To Me?
I did not have a supervised diet. I went in, did the consult, did all the pre-op appointments in less than 2 months, then surgery. I was given a very, very large manual (like 200 pages) that describes all of the nutrition and exercise and mental health stuff. I did meet with the psychiatrist, the nutritionist twice, and had to watch some videos. I felt like I was prepared, though, and haven't had any problems following the book. If I have a question, I shoot them an email, but it's always an unusual question that has to do with my complication or just some off the wall thing most people probably don't think to ask, ever. lol. I've talked to a disturbing amount of people that don't have a manual, though. No guidance at all on portion sizes or what foods are safe or how long their stages should be. That is scary to me and I don't know why anyone would pay a program without... getting a program.

Arm lifts and biceps?
Do arm lifts only focus on tightening and removing skin from the triceps, or does it also include fat on the biceps? I imagine tightening the bottom would also pull the skin taut on the top, but I have an actual fat roll on my biceps. It actually creases and gets red. I know I am a long ways away, but I have some of the largest arms I've ever seen on an obese person and I know they will be my #1 go-to when I have plastics. You can see my pre-op arms in my album on my profile for reference.

LiquaCel packets?
Yeah, Unjury is super gross. lol.

If you could close one fast food chain
I can't even explain my (former) Taco Bell addiction. 7 layer burritos, chicken chipotle grillers, potato soft tacos, and 5 layer burritos were basically my staple diet far too often. lol. Yes, all at the same time. Anytime I would go on a binge, it would almost always be Taco Bell. Taco Love.

Full liquids agaiiinnnn.
I just cannot wait for my appointment on the 7th. I decided to keep a log of each time I get nauseous, starting today, so he has an idea of the frequency. I have no clue if it's the ulcer anymore or what. It's so deterring trying to swallow anything when you KNOW it's going to make you sick. You'd think I would be rail thin by now! lol.

LiquaCel packets?
Liquacel does not taste good. LOL. I recommend the peach mango or watermelon if you get any. If you go to the manufacturers site, you can get a sample of all 5 flavors for 5$. It is not a "complete" protein (it's collagen), so it can't fully replace protein shakes, but good if you need a boost for the day or if you are traveling short-term. Unjury sells individual shake packets, too. Liquacel is nice because it is one ounce and you're done. But it tastes like medicinal goop. Bearable... You don't have to mix it with anything. In fact I recommend you don't. The flavor is not good and it is thick gel. Just slurp it from the pouch in 2 seconds and be done. Like taking cold medicine.

Just diet and exercise. WOW! Never considered that.
Even before I considered WLS, thin "friends" that can literally eat garbage 24/7 would always tell me "calories in, calories out" and "you just need to exercise more", etc etc, as if I didn't KNOW EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ALREADY ABOUT NUTRITION. Thanks, Ms. Perfect, for the advice. Kill me now. lol.

Just diet and exercise. WOW! Never considered that.
Oh geeze! I would have slapped him with the Christmas ham. Must be easy living a life with no problems in it whatsoever. ?

Full liquids agaiiinnnn.
I haven't had either, but I don't know if I would want anything else messing with or being inserted into my GI system when I already had issues in that area. If I had an option and was in a similar situation, I think I would opt for the PICC. Did they put it in the bend of your arm? That would be really annoying...

Vomiting
Has this happened since you posted? I just heard about this thing called Candy Cane Syndrome where some people develop a tiny second pouch a year or so out from surgery that holds food and medicine without letting it get down further.
-
Can it be done?
I want the full 360 lift with the butt, tummy, thighs, hips... and then my arms. Part of me wishes they'd do it all at once so I could just get it over with, BUT, I know that the skin removals are extremely painful and I don't want to be totally immobilized... so two procedures is probably best, even if they would do it all at the same time.

Cost in the USA
My insurance company was billed $45,000ish between the surgeon's fee and the hospital fee (lol). I paid $1350 out of pocket. That doesn't include the pre-op visits which I paid $35 bucks each for and maybe like $200 for the labs pre-op.

"Other " support sites
There are some things I do say I will "never" have again, simply because I need that structure and regimen to stay on the straight and narrow. But some things we simply enjoy and having them on occasion isn't the end all be all of everything we are working for. And even those "never" things, if I slip up later on... again, it's not the end all be all. There are a couple of tough personalities on this forum that took a minute for me to get used to, but I love everyone now. lol. I think my most eff you moment was during pre-op and I think I mentioned that I had cheated on it and wasn't sure if I was ready (just my nerves talking) and a few people were like IF YOU CHEAT NOW YOU ARE DOOMED (less dramatically, though) and I DON'T THINK YOU ARE READY FOR THIS AT ALL. Etc etc. But, I am doing just fine. I didn't screw myself over by cheating on my pre-op. My life isn't ruined. My surgery isn't ruined. I am, mentally, doing just kosher and very thankful I had the surgery. Everything I was worried about pre-op has been a complete non-issue. I am, and maybe by virtue of complications, more strict to this new diet than a lot of others who had surgery around a similar time as I did. Sometimes you have to take things that people say with a grain of salt... they are living their own experience and you yours.

If you could close one fast food chain
Wendy's. Their burgers are so gross to me! Weird peppery seasoning on them or something? I don't even know. I also think Chipotle is way overrated. We have a Chipotle and also a local place that has the exact same "model" as Chipotle and just tasting the difference in the quality and the amount you get for your money at the local place... Chipotle doesn't hold a candle to it. NOBODY BETTER TOUCH MY TACO BELL, THOUGH.
