My Plastic Surgery Thread
LOL - don't worry. Mine was a reaction to the cream and the nipple was saved. That particular nip sticks out more than the other and has some darker pigmentation. Other than that, it looks fine.

My Plastic Surgery Thread
Nipple grafts are very sensitive, lol. I was applying Neosporin to it and turned out I have an allergy to Neosporin. Started causing the skin to turn black and fall off.

My Plastic Surgery Thread
When I went in for my totally unnecessary lipo, I just wanted my inner thighs done, but he took advantage of my low self-esteem and was pinching all these different areas and I left signed up for surgery on my inner/outer thighs, knees, stomach, hips, and arms. For those docs, it's all about the money.

My Plastic Surgery Thread
This is why I am going with my local guy. I was referred to a "bariatric plastic surgeon" that is over two hours away. I am notorious for complications, including with former plastic surgery, and that makes me incredibly uncomfortable. (Aside from the fact he didn't return two of my calls to consult with him). When I had my breast reduction, I had a nipple graft and my nipple started FALLING OFF... and being 25 minutes from my surgeon I could get there immediately and it is great to have that convenience. Complications are considered medical, not cosmetic, and are covered by insurance.

Cholesterol
Mine went down at my 6 month labs, but my "good" cholesterol also went way down so I added in an Omega-3 supplement. Maybe my 12 mos. will improve.

Supporting Cast
I did not have any real support. My mother, who is my only real family, was 20000% against it and my coworkers were like "oh, okay" when I told them. lol. I've found that I don't actually need anyone else because I am accountable only to myself. It's nice talking online to people that have had it, too. But in "real life"... I'm my own cast.

Salad
I think I started eating salad at like 4-5 months. Mostly because I had protein issues at first and was working on that. I can eat tons of salad and not get full. Not like broccoli and carrots, but leafy greens are very easy for me to eat. I almost always order a salad when I go out to eat. They're like the one thing that sits well. Leafy greens with some cherry tomatoes, sunflower seeds, some kind of protein (chicken/salmon), cheese, hardboiled egg. Stuff like that.

Does weight loss start slowing down the more you lose weight?
Aside from the protein, only 140 calories a day??? (Since 60 are from vitamins) That's like week 2 levels, not 4 months. Yikes. Maybe contact your dietitian???

Lap band removed
Your insurance won't cover a new WLS procedure even though you meet the requirements because you had LapBand previously? Are you trying to get another LapBand replaced or want bypass or sleeve or something else? Do you own a home? You can always see if you can get a home equity loan - they look more at appraised value of your house than your credit when giving you that loan.

Body dysmorphia
I had a breast reduction too. Size H to a D. He wouldn't go lower than a D because I was obese and he said it wouldn't look proportional. But for the first time ever I had NO BACK PAIN. It was excruciating for all those years and I thought it was arthritis pain. Also covered by insurance. Now I am a B/C from my weight loss. I have the same booty wrinkles - could definitely take some filler from the inner thighs and move it there. lmao.

What a Difference a Poop Makes!
MOM day is my favorite day of the week. LOL. Always down a pound 100% the next morning. Last week I had Smooth Moves and same result.

Body dysmorphia
I relate to this the most. I always had that "ideal" hourglass shape and very large breasts. I was much curvier than ALL of my friends, but a very healthy weight. But since I was curvy, I equated that to being fat. I wanted to be a stick. Even to this day I tell my trainer that I always wanted to be stick straight with zero curves and no booty or breasts or hips because my brain just equates that to being obese. I feel like I still want that, but that's simply not my body shape. He thinks it's bizarre because many women *pay* to have hips and a butt and that figure that I just can't stand on myself. As far as plastics, I know I need my tummy and arms done. I tried doing some forearm stands in yoga yesterday and the skin bunched up so badly and pinched. But I find myself looking at my inner thighs and seeing those little wrinkles of loose skin that probably don't warrant surgery but I know I am going to obsess over them indefinitely.

Body dysmorphia
I have body dysmorphia. Hence the whole backstory of me thinking I was gigantic at 140lbs and having lipo and then gaining 150lbs from the lipo "not working" and me shoveling food into my face because "I was fat anyways". ANYWAYS, I am basically at the weight I was when I had lipo a few years ago, and I find myself nitpicking again. I'm like "ugh, my calves are so thick and fat and ugh my inner thighs are fat". But I *know* I am not fat... I just see that little bit I can pinch and it drives me CRAZY. I'm having my skin removal in 3 months (which is actually legitimate) and I feel like it will be a temporary fix and right after I will find more things I am not happy with... and, just like the lipo, have unnecessary plastic surgeries in the attempt to achieve some misguided form of perfection. I've talked to lots of therapists and I know what "caused" the body dysmorphia, but nothing's been helpful. I am very unreceptive and argumentative to therapy; it's my pessimistic nature, lol. I bought a self-image self-help workbook and I am putting my personal trainer certification on hold until I can work out some of my self-esteem issues. I also see people out and about that are very heavy and I either a) see myself as being that size or b) get really judgmental and disgusted, even though I was JUST that size a few months ago. It makes me feel like a terrible person. Not really sure I have a point here LOL but while I *know* I've done well, I can't fully appreciate it because I still see so many imperfections. I am constantly critiquing every inch of me saying "oh, that needs to be smaller" "this needs to be toned" "I am so huge". I hope that I don't become one of those crazy people that spends 100k on plastics and ends up with a mask-face from endless Botox or something. ? Does anyone else struggle from body dysmorphia? How did you overcome it or if you haven't, how do you deal? How do you learn to love yourself after hating yourself since you were 8 years old?? I kinda' thought I had overcome all this, but the smaller I get... the more judgmental I am becoming of myself again. Like nothing will be good enough.

Y-Connection issue with Rapid Weight Loss
I had a hernia there. Didn't have pain from it... they happened to find it 2 months post-op when they went to take out my gallbladder.

Does weight loss start slowing down the more you lose weight?
If you can get from a BMI of 70 to a BMI of 20 in 12 months, please share your secrets! 135lbs in 4 months is amazinngggg. And yeah, much slower. I lose 7-10lbs per month as opposed to 20+.

skinny shamed!
Well the weird thing is that 9 years ago I was 135lbs and she used to say I looked fantastic and then I went in for liposuction and she begged me not to because I looked great already. But now at 145 I am too skinny? Wat.

skinny shamed!
It's just crap when it comes from a family member, especially one that has never made comments about your appearance before. The irony of this is she was/is 200% against weight loss surgery but is actually consulting with my bariatric surgeon for it as a last resort option to control her diabetes. That's actually what prompted the comment. We were talking about her meeting with my surgeon and then she said I looked too skinny/sick.

my personal little official thread
Oh no, they put in the wrong CPT code and it came up 12K. The actual facility charge is like 2K once they put in the right code!! That's why I almost had a heart attack when she originally said 12K. I was like UMMMM *nervous laughter*

9 days post-op yogurt and peanut butter???
Also could probably try nonfat cottage cheese. What protein shakes do you have that you don't like? There's so many options. I will forever hawk NowSports Soy Protein Isolate off Amazon. lol. Getting in fluids is more important right now than meeting protein goals.

How often do/should you weigh yourself?
I really struggle with a happy medium. My trainer says weigh weekly at most. I am obsessive and weigh daily, but then it SUPER bums me out when the scale didn't move that day or went up, even a few ounces. So, I weigh about every 3 days or so. Many people here weigh daily to keep them on track, but if it starts irritating you if you don't see a move or you get upset with normal fluctuations, cut back to every few days.

uhhhmmmm other options for low bp
So, as far as my primary doc knows, I am on the highest dose, the max times per day, of the ONLY medication they make for orthostatic hypotension unrelated to anemia/kidney issues. (Midodrine). I was feeling really fuzzy and spacey all day and my BP was 102/50 AFTER 2 doses of Midodrine. That's not horribly low but that is after meds that are supposed to jack up your BP. I've had several work ups on my heart and I'm all good there, so it truly is bariatric-related hypotension. Anyone knows of ANY other medicines?? I'm checking my BP all the time because Midodrine can supposedly make your BP dangerously high, but it barely keeps my BP to a point where I can function. I'm worried I am getting acclimated to it and will be SOL. =/

Appetite suppressors
I take some pre-workout supplements now that are appetite suppressants. But I take them more for the energy boost (although they do also help with appetite). One is RedCon1 Double Tap which is a stimulant and one is Redcon1 Silencer (non-stim). I wouldn't take them until you are in a serious workout phase and at least 6 months post-op. And, of course, check with your doc. I like Silencer a lot.

skinny shamed!
My mother skinny shamed me today. ...... She told me I looked too thin and sickly. I am literally 10lbs overweight still! And when I was 25lbs lighter she would always tell me I looked great. When I was fat she never made any comments. But now I look too skinny? Uh what? I still have about 10lbs to go before I am "BMI healthy" and I am a Size 8! I am 5'3"! I told her maybe she just wasn't used to be looking healthy or because I lost weight quickly, and she was just like "no, that's not it...." and didn't elaborate. I can't win. *eye roll* Now the parent that used to call me fat is congratulating me all the time and the one who never called me fat is skinny shaming.
