  1. today I hit my goal weight. figured this was a fitting time for pics.
  2. I had low vitamin D lonnngg before surgery. Took supplements on and off. The surgeon gave me those 50,000 IU prescription vitamin D pills to take pre-op. Now I take 4,000 IU vitamin d pills daily, post-op.
  3. If they nicotine test you, they may. My doctor didn't nicotine test me. I quit before surgery, but started up again. Struggling to quit still.... and I am in a similar boat because now I have upcoming skin removal surgery and if I don't quit, it can affect blood circulation and cause my incisions not to heal.
  4. It just occurred to me.... I have a dragon tattoo right where the tummy tuck incision is going to be. The whole body of the dragon will probably be scrunched up. It will just be a head attached to a tail!! lmao!
  5. I dressed like a baggy slob for a really long time. But now I just get walmart clothes. They're actually not bad, lol. Also us.shein.com sells really nice clothes super cheap!
  6. Complications aren't common and that ones that are are typically fixable and not nearly as dramatic as whatever happened to that woman. I had some complications (ulcer/hernia) and some others in this thread did, as well, but I guarantee that none of us would ever say we regret it! I thought I did while I was going through the issues, but they were fixable and not-so-terrible in hindsight. Don't be afraid - this is life-changing and well worth it!!
  7. Happy Monday to me! 10.5 months post-op. 146lbs lost since surgery. GW ACHIEVED!! I would like to thank... literally nobody but myself because I am the one who accomplished this! Hollllaaaa!! And this is before the skin removal so who knows what I will end up being. I am also still actively losing so I am not at equilibrium yet. Interested to see where this will go....
  8. I've had food poisoning before, but didn't know if I would react differently since we don't really vomit anymore. Ah well. Anyways, no more anything listed above for me. lol.
  9. I don't think I will truly know since I had so many new things at the same time (my b). I DID have a few pieces of sushi in the past, but poked out most of the rice. I'm sort of thinking it was combo food poisoning from the sea urchin which tasted BAD and maybe the seaweed salad bulking up really badly. ;(
  10. I've used wasabi before with no issue. I was in serious serious pain until 8PM and have had some indigestion today. Like the pain was just getting worse and worse as time went on. The SEVERE pain last 8-9 hours. Nothing like dumping or anything. But stabbing doom.
  11. I know plenty of people that if you let them know you have a surgery or a prior vacation scheduled before you got the job, they will still let you take the time off. So, like if you told them you need off on the 8th and for 2 weeks to recover, they may still let you since that was a surgery scheduled well before you accepted the position.
  12. I went out for sushi and had, for the first time since surgery, rice, banana, seaweed salad, and avocado. I also tried sea urchin (which is repulsive). Either way, I don't know what I ate but HOLY CRAP. My stomach burns like FIRE. Like "YOU HAVE AN ULCER IMMEDIATELY" fire. I did eat too much, I know, but eating too much has never made me feel like this! It actually burns so so bad! I took some Pepcid and some mystery gas medicine a coworker gave me. Please pray. lol. Semi-related - how "long" does it take to stretch the pouch? I *occasionally* eat too fast or overeat a bit to where I burp a little. Not every day or anything like that; I don't make it a habit... but it happens. Does OCCASIONAL overeating affect your pouch or is it routine? Does overeating "slider" foods affect it at all, or just dense foods that would push things outwards?
  13. I don't have any advice for this but I will say that almost a year out, there's no preventing constipation for me no matter what I eat. I do a weekly Milk of Magnesia purge.
  14. I am so happy. No pain. It's totally smooth when I look dead on now. It's amazing.
  15. I have pics of the actual skin that was removed, too, but not sure how people can stomach those things on here. Basically a shape of a taco was cut out. It literally looks like a cheesy taco.
  16. He took quite a large amount off. I have no clue what my new band size will be!
  17. Everything is going well! Slept a lot today, but Tylenol is just fine for any lingering pain. Just burns a bit on and off. I took a peak and it is so smoooooth. Mind you, this is still with the SteriStrips on. I cannot WAIT to shower tomorrow and also go bra shopping soon!!
  18. All went well. Took about 2 hours, but was pretty much painless. Starting to sting a little now.
  19. I have a Mirena in, which means I haven't had my period in years, but after surgery I had some breakthrough spotting on and off for several weeks. THE POWER OF HORMONAL CHANGESSS.
  20. TODAY IS THE DAY!!! SO LONG FLAPS! lol
  21. Well if you ever get into the market, let me know and I'll be your first customer! (aside from your family). There could be some creative ingredients for bariatric patients. These Exo ones definitely needs some crunch, though. But 10/10 would eat cricket flour products again.
  22. ... maybe not so much hourglass anymore because RIP BOOBS lmao
  23. Thanks, Fluffy. I know the BMI chart has a lot of wiggle room, but I have dem hips and a natural hourglass figure. About 135 is as low as I can go without looking too thin, even if lower is still considered "healthy". I need to get over my mental block against carbs. My dietitian had said 90g of protein for exercise, but my trainer wants me at 120g. I am going to start with something innocuous like trying to sip a protein shake throughout the day. That'll add those 200 calories and another 23g of protein. Really it's a mental game with myself to accept foods I was afraid of and KNOW I am a different person and won't fall back into the same habits.
  24. so totally random but my labs just posted for my protein and they are significantly higher than my 6 month labs and totally within normal range so HOLLLLA. that's one less thing to stress over!
  25. yooooo this exact thing happened to me today. I even said something. I was like.... whoa... you can see my vein! and the nurse was like "it's like a firehose line". absurd. no digging and multiple sticks.
