Anyone else having prob with Canada Thread?
You know, I have been getting lots of errors today. I rarely have any problems. I don't get why yours would be in the Canadian area though. (and why it's ok when you sign in with another name)

Now that we've gotten rid of Yoda....
LOL, just kidding. For some reason, she can't view any of our posts (in the Canadian area), and since there's not been much activity here today, maybe others are having that problem too? Post here if you can!! Mandi

Oh yes... beer. I have had sips here and there, but... never as much as this weekend. I tried my best to do Caesar's for most of the night(s), but at $4.75-5.25 a drink, I just couldn't do it anymore. Things were ok, and I wasn't burping all over the place like I would have expected. Well... no more than anyone else drinking beer! It's going good here. I went to PEI for Canada Day, and it's SOOOOO nice there, at least in all of Charlottetown. I'm jealous. It's nice-ish here, but I'd kill to live there!

Was it late? I was probably recovering from my Canada Day weekend. Too many late nights, I got used to it! btw, I drank beer, and I survived!

I'm confused
Hey Cloe I think I have the same problem, but I've had one fill so far. I'd kinda like another one, but I'm scared that the golfballs would be even worse and more frequent with another fill. So 'my plan' is to wait it out as long as I can, and hopefully train myself to stop golfballing! I'm not getting them as often as before, so I suppose that's a good start. I'm sure it would be different if fills were more accessable to me.... I probably would be on at least my 3rd by now! P.S. I could totally eat a 12" sub before my first fill. Now it's a 6" for me. (although I'm now feeling like I wish there were a 9")

I wonder if she ever found out if/where she was moving.... perhaps a PM is in order. Unless she's still 'subscribed' to this thread... Teasie, if you get this, let us know what happened!!!

Maritime/Atlantic Provinces?
There's a Dr. in Moncton, NB who does the band. I'm waiting to hear back from him whether he'll take me on as a patient or not, to do my fills. I think his rationale for being so stingey on who he takes on, is because he wants to deter patients from going elsewhere, like Toronto or Mexico for banding, and assume they can just come home and have him do their fills. (The band is covered in NB). Not really fair to people like you and me who are just MOVING here and looking for help. Anyways... I don't know anything about Newfoundland, or their healthcare. Probably like most places, it's difficult to find a family doctor who is taking new patients. I also don't know if going from NL to NB for fills would be too difficult. But I'm VERY sure that he (Dr. Beausoleil) is the only maritime lapband guy. Good luck!

We're on our way
Good luck Devana!!! Congrats also!

Painless fills
haha, yeah Yoda... might be a good idea! (p.s. You can buy and apply EMLA yourself... no one even needs to know that you're 'numbed', they'll just think you're a trooper :grouphug: )

Frickin' Frickin' Frickin'
Aww.... Yoda! That SUCKS!!! Hopefully next time works. I think these Dr's are making enough money... they should have flouro machines in their offices for things like this. That would be toooo nice. Woo! For Superman, I'm excited to see it too... lucky you getting to see it at the imax! Better luck next time. Mandi

Painless fills
I've heard of people using it for fills, ALOT. I've used it before (not for fills though), and it does work really good. I don't wish I'd had it for my last fill, but I almost think, that in fear of having a fill nightmare like some people, with the 10 prick tries, that I just may give it a try. It also helps that I have some leftover. I'd suggest using the stuff that comes in the large tube, so you can spread it over a big area (in case they don't stick the needle(s) in exactly where you're expecting)... the Patches only cover an area a bit bigger than a toonie.

Thinking of joining this Gamer beauty contest.
haha... too bad they don't ask actual game-related questions! Bet their ditzy "Umm... I dunno" answers would get some "BOOO!" 's (the models, if they're real, who obviously aren't in this cause they're really gamers)

Thinking of joining this Gamer beauty contest.
Hey, Am I the only one who thinks that half those girls aren't 'real'? That Sheena Lee looks like a porn star! How strict are the entrance requirements? Do you have to prove that you're who your picture says you are? (ie: Could I submit a picture I find online of... say... Jenna Jamieson, and say that my name is Sandra Dee from El Paso, and submit it?) I think everyone's odds will be alot better when half the contestants don't show! Very nice picture you chose, by the way! Good luck Mandi

Anyone banded in Sarnia???
Interesting... could you email them back and ask how many of the 'procedures' they have performed, and how long they've been doing it? Just curious! Guess it's good at least that it's not the plastic surgeon doing it! LOL But ... pssshh.... same price, and you get dr's you've actually heard of (Cobourn/Mumford or Joffe/Yau), and you get fills for life. I think that's the better deal! Mandi

How are my March Bandsters!!
Vegas, you and I have the EXACT same start weight! Did you do a pre-op diet, and/or is your start weight (284) your highest before surgery, or after your pre-op diet? Mine is from before my pre-op diet.... I need as much help as I can get! What's your 'ultimate' goal? I *say* 140, because then I'd technically be able to say I lost half of myself, but I really don't know. I could be perfectly happy at 175 .. who knows. I've never been that size (as an adult), so I'm not sure how it would look on me. I'm not sure how ANY significant weight loss would look on me, but I can't wait to find out! Mandi

Anyone banded in Sarnia???
I just looked that up. I've nevvvvver heard of that guy or that clinic at all. I'm sure he's fab and all, but I chose my surgeon because I heard from his patients, and was able to talk to them (as well as for other reasons, of course). This Dr. Sanjeev Kaila (the guy from the bluewater place) is a plastic surgeon. I felt better knowing that my guy was a "surgeon" surgeon. Also, you're lucky that you're "ONLY" 3 hours from Toronto. Don't chose your surgeon based on distance. There's lots of us who had to or have to fly across the country for this, and gladly do so, knowing that our surgeons are among the best. Any idea how much this other guy charges? Mandi

Hello everyone I just joined!
haha... yup he does! http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/canadianlapbanders/ You'll have to get a "Yahoo ID" to join it. It's a stupidly formatted 'support group', but it's a good place. There's also a new one specifically just for Cobourn/Mumford-ers http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/cobourn-mumford_bandits/ ... not as many people signed up for that one yet though, but it's good for when there are Cobourn/Mumford specific questions that we might have. Join Join Join!! *edit - when I first decided to go with him, he was only offering free fills for the first year, but it's since switched to lifetime, so that's coolio*

Hello everyone I just joined!
Yeah, Dr. C has free fills too. I don't think either place uses staples, but definitely Cobourn doesn't. Just 'steristrips", which are super duper adhesive surgical tape pieces. Mandi

How are my March Bandsters!!
My 3 month goal (which for me is on Thurs) was to be down 25lbs (not including my preop diet) I'm at 19.4 right now. Think I can lose 5.6 lbs in 2 days? Nah... I'm ok with that. I had a bad stall for a few weeks, and had that not happened, I would have made my goal. My 6 month goal to lose this last 5.6 lbs, and then 25 more. I'm not doing all that well with the exercise.... I'll leave it at that. :phanvan People 'say' they've noticed, but of course these are the ones who know I got it done. No one who doesn't know has said anything. I don't blame them. I don't really see it either. No pb's... thankfully. Mandi
