New Scale
Glad you figured it out! I need to find something that I KNOW the weight of and try it out on my scale too!

Low calorie protein powder
I agree... if you really were told that, I think it's pretty ridiculous too. Weird, cause I think I've heard lots of good about Dr. Spiegel!

Low calorie protein powder
That's unusual that they'd let you do that... but nice! I'll keep that in mind... if I ever live somewhere (or closer to) that has a GNC! My local health food/nutrition/vitamin/bulk food store has not too much to chose from, and the only other option would be what I can find at the grocery store or pharmacies... or hopefully unjury if they ever reply to ME! I was about to say that the Unjury seemed pretty reasonably priced, but now that I read it more carefully... it's $17 (US) for "15 scoops".. so even at only 2 scoops a day (40g protein), that would only last a week. I don't really care to spend $20 a week. Dang. Hmmm.... maybe I'll have to find something else. I just might try that Kiwi-strawberry thingy!

Low calorie protein powder
I will let you know! Well... I don't know. I guess I feel some restriction... I'm not eating all that much less now than I was prior to my fill though. Some things I've recently eaten: - last night, a hotdog, complete with bun... not sure what I was thinking... I took 2, but could only finish one - one broccoli/cheese stuffed chicken breast - 2 large chicken fingers - an average Cereal bowl sized portion of noodles and sauce (like 'Sidekicks') (1.5 cups maybe?) - 2 pieces of pizza (when I normally would have at least 4!) - 1 cup of cereal, and about a cup of skim milk - a 6" sub from Subway. Used to always get a 12"... 6" is good enough for me now though. as you can tell... I'm not exactly dieting! I eat what I want, try to pick the healthier options, when I can... and I just less of it. As long as I keep losing, I'm going to continue to do so. I just make sure I get the Protein in first (when I can), and I usually don't have room for anything after that.

Low calorie protein powder
ahh.. yes... but the problem is finding them in Canada. I went to the unjury website, cause I think that's what I was looking for, not Isopure. They sell samples, but I'm just waiting to get a reply to my email asking if they'll ship to Canada, cause it doesn't seem like they do, in the website.

Low calorie protein powder
Well, I checked ExtraFoods (superstore) and Shoppers for that Beneprotein... but nothing. So I doubt we have it here (yet). I did see that Kiwi-strawberry stuff at ExtraFoods, but it was like $30 or 40! I was tempted though! I'm holding out for clear, tasteless stuff. Maybe I'll break down and order some from the states. I think I saw somewhere that sells samples.... hopefully I can try it out (isopure) before I buy. Buffie, I'm doing pretty good. I'm finally losing again, after a stupid 3 week stall. I am feeling super duper, and kinda like I could do with another fill, but I'll hold out as long as I can!

Low calorie protein powder
Yeah, we have Benefiber here... it's pretty great. I looked up Beneprotien, and we *should* have it in Canada... but I've never seen it. I'll keep my eyes peeled though. If I, say, added it to several drinks a day, it would be good, but only if it's not VERY expensive. You're supposed to spread your Protein throughout the day, so I suppose in that way, it would be good. I like the idea of a tasteless Protein Drink. The scariness of trying a $50 tub of Protein powder steers me away from it! I swear, if I get a whiff of another powder that smells like Slimfast, heads WILL roll! I shall let the Canadians know if I find it! and where! And no, I've never tried Isopure, or seen it anywhere, but I'd be willing to. (it's the clear protein, right?) Have you seen it somewhere Buffie?

newbie here!!!!
Same here, no vomitting or nausea so far! Welcome and good luck with everything! I imagine since you're doing Optifast, you're going with Dr. Cobourn? Optifast was soooo hard for me. But worth it. Just stick it out, the results are awesome! Mandi *edit* - saw another post that you're with Dr. Mumford! Close enough :girl_hug:

Liquid ideas
Cloe... I was allowed cottage cheese and watery oatmeal during the same time period. I practically lived on it.

Nuts!
Hey guys! Can anyone suggest a nut that isn't so high calorie? or all they all? I've checked out walnuts and pecans, and seems that both are about 190 cals and 4g of Protein per ounce. I was thinking that it would be a good way to get some protein, but, not at 190 cals! Thanks in advance! Mandi

Where did my body go? - ramblings
Woo! That must be a great feeling. I have some clothes that I bought that I just packed up today for a move... they're waaay too small too, and I can't fathom the idea that something that small will ever fit me! (they're 'women's tshirts' in 'large' and they still look so tiny) Yeah! We need pictures! Does your camera have a timer maybe? Mandi

New Lapbander
Hey Irishmist! Who was your surgeon? What have you been doing so far for your liquid diet? When I was told what to eat during liquids, I was told watered down cottage cheese and very runny oatmeal was ok, so that's what I had. Didn't sound like liquids to me, but I wasn't going to argue! Breakfast would be oatmeal, lunch and supper would be either cottage cheese or broth. I wasn't a big fan of broths, so sometimes I'd make chicken noodle Soup (lipton), and strain out the noodles. Boy, that sounds boring... I did that for 2 weeks? Ugg! Must have not been too bad if I can't recall anything else. Oh yeah... I had some Yop's too. One night we went out for a birthday sushi dinner.... my favorite... and I couldn't have any I ordered wonton soup, and ate around all the wontons. How long do you have to do it? (liquids) Mandi

If I had to chose from those 4, I'd pick Salma too. I do love Sara Rue.... but she's lost weight, and it just ain't the same anymore.

Who were you banded by?
I do only weigh once a week... umm... technically! I am usually really good at staying away from the scale, but with it staying at the same weight for so long, the past week, I've been checking every few days. I seriously thought my scale was wrong. How can a digital scale weigh me the EXACT same every time!?!? AHH! Whatever... I've budged now... so I'm happy. The tickers don't reflect decimal points, so I'm not celebrating a 30 pound loss yet. Another 0.6 pounds to go! And as soon as I do, party at my house! Hope you all can make it to SK! I'm hoping next week!

First fill this Thursday!
Yow! I hope it's not a 10 incher! Maybe a 10cm? Good luck with your fill, and your checkup, AMF!

Who were you banded by?
I've heard all kinds of ranges... if I were truly paying attention to it, I'd aim for at least 60g's a day. btw, I'm happy to announce that I just may have broken my awesome 3 week plateau at 257. I weighed in at 254.6 this morning! Woooo! Finally!

Canadian Forum for Canadians only?
Yoda, I know what you mean. (my 'who were you banded by?" thread specifically!... drove me NUTS!!) I had also concurred that it must be people clicking on the newest threads, and coming here not even knowing it's Canadian specific. Ahhh well... Good luck Jude! Mandi
