ANOTHER fill on Tuesday..why I am not feeling much restriction?
Yo Yo Yo Yoda!!! Welcome back! How come you can't go until the 25th?
-
Do I need a fill?
You probably could use a fill, I think. 10lbs in 2-ish weeks? I hate you. LOL How much have you lost most recently? If you're losing, but still hungry a lot, I'd think if you got a little bit of a fill... you'd lose more, and be less hungry.. right? But then... maybe you won't be able to handle ANYthing early in the day, and then just a bit at night. It seems that lots of people are tight in the morning. But they say that drinking some hot coffee (or hot whatever) 'opens 'em up' enough to eat some brekkie. It's so hard to guess... isn't it? Why don't you call 'em anyways, and tell them your dilema, and see what they say?

Argon's Activities
Hey guys... did I tell you, the fill Dr. here who might bless me by taking me as a patient MIGHT be getting back to me regarding my request on Friday, or maybe early next week? Oh please, oh please.... I hope he'll take me! If not, what do I do!? I just might have to beg someone (ie: my parents) for money to take a trip to TO for a few days. Uggg... There's a lady in NS who does her own fills (she's a paramedic)... but I don't think I reeeally want to do that.

I bought WAY to much furniture!
I agree... beautiful! What about turning it (the bed) sideways, so the window is along the side of the bed, and you're not blocking it. And holy crap! That armoire IS huge! Lucky you said how big the tv was, cause I was thinking it was alot smaller. Nice kitties! The white one looks like a little porcelain statue!

ANOTHER fill on Tuesday..why I am not feeling much restriction?
Hey Buffie - just found this thread... you might be interested in : http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=21084 Michelle - it really varies. 17 lbs in 2 months is good. If most of that came off in the beginning or something, then probably not so good. I've only lost 11 in the last 2 months. (but I know I need a fill) If you are eating too much, not full for long, and not losing 1-2 lbs a week for a few weeks in a row, you probably need a fill.

ANOTHER fill on Tuesday..why I am not feeling much restriction?
Yeah, just cause disneynut's at 6.5cc, don't go in telling your Dr. that you need 1.5 more cc's. (although, it probably would be a good amount for you) It's really so different for everyone. You just have to sneak up on it slowly. Does TLBC suggest anything, or are you on your own with deciding how much of a fill you're going to get?

Canadian Challange
You have a swimming pool? Oooh, I'm jealous. I'd swim if I didn't have to do it in public! Kim, if you search google for "BMI calculator' you'll find lots of places where you can just type in your height and weight, and it'll tell you what you are. You said you were 5'9" and 320, I think... right? I'll check it out for you right now......... 47.3 is what I got for ya. I went here: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

pre op diet help!!!DRINKING..gulp gulp!
You really shouldn't say that. Doctors are all over the place with the carbonation thing. Maybe her doctor thinks it's ok. It doesn't give ME horrible gas, but I'm not going to say "Drink your diet cokes all you want". Do what YOUR surgeon tells you, or what you're comfortable with doing. It IS a good time to try to wean yourself off it though. I'm sure if you called the TLBC they'd tell you not to be drinking it now... because nobody wants us to have any fun. LOL. But really... if you can get out of the habit, and if you do (and are allowed to) later on, enjoy the odd one as a treat. I do still try to de-fizz 'em the best I can, when I do have something like that, but I don't go nuts with it.

GOT 'DEm Pre-op diet BLuu-eees
Oh Kim.... stop weighing everyday!! Do you have someone who can take the scale away from you, and only give it back once a week, or even every 4 days or so? AND... when you do weigh, make sure it's at the same time every day you do it...and preferably the morning. I don't know about you guys, but if I weigh myself in the morning, I can guarantee that I will easily weigh at least 3 lbs more in the evening. So I never ever do it in the evening! So anyways, Kim, you're gonna do good with this... just keep it up, and try to stay off the scale as much as you can!!

pre op diet help!!!DRINKING..gulp gulp!
Drinking before you eat... I think it's just so you get Water in before you have to NOT get water in after you eat. I think also, if you're hydrated enough before you eat, you're not going to feel like you NEED something while you're eating. And, do you mean how long before and after are you supposed to drink and not drink? If thats what you mean, it's 'supposed' to be 15-30 minutes before eating: stop drinking, and don't drink 30min-1hour after eating. I drink up until I eat though... :|

pre op diet help!!!DRINKING..gulp gulp!
I did Crystal Light during my pre-op, but again, different surgeon. I'm sure it would be ok though. If it helps you get your water in, that's good. You SHOULD be drinking at least 8 'glasses' a day... which is 64 oz. or about 2 litres. I try to drink 3 liters (I use Nalgene bottles as my gauge)... and I find it hard to drink much of anything else, when you drink all your water AND try not to after or during meals.

pre op diet help!!!DRINKING..gulp gulp!
I don't buy that. People say alot of things... tin cans give you cancer, aspartame will kill you... cell phones give you brain tumours.. whatever anyone says, I'm going to stick to thinking that drinking a diet coke is less likely to make me gain weight than a real coke. Now, whether you will be able to comfortably drink any after surgery is anyones guess. I don't know what the TLBC says about carbonation. I think someone said that Joffe and Yau say 2 different things. Guess it's up to you. I can handle it. (not that I have it much anymore. I used to drink at least a few cans a day) It doesn't do anything weird to me. But I still make sure I flatten it a little before drinking. Are you drinking more Water now than usual? If you are, maybe try not drinking for a few hours before bedtime. I always have a last minute scramble to try to drink all the water I should have drank during the day, at night, so I'm up a couple times during the night too! Mandi

Canadian "AUGUST" Challenge
Ok... sooooo... mine's not too ambitious. I'm going to try to do something physical for 30 minutes a day, at least 3 times a week. I know, I know.. that's super weak, but, it's all I got! I am also going to try to lose a grand total of 8 lbs in the entire month. Ugg, that's really pushing it for me, but I'll try!! Since Wed is the 2nd, at that's my next weigh-in day, I'll aim for 8 lbs less than whatever I weigh on Wed! (Kim, that's a hard enough challenge, sticking with the post op diet! Totally ok! )

Canadian Challange
Hey hey... no, one month would be fine with me too. I'd rather commit to trying to exercise for a month than 3 ! LOL
-
Hey JUDE048!
What happens if you DO eat your 'goal' calories? Are you really not hungry enough to eat more than what you are eating? If so, man... I don't know. Also, stop weighing everyday! I SOMEtimes do, but I never ever 'count' it. I weighed in at 243.4 on Wed, 242.6 yesterday, and today I was 244! SO... I'm sticking with my Wed weight, which is when I'm supposed to weigh in, and ignoring all the others. I gotta stop leaving my scale within eyesight!

Canadian Challange
Loriely, I believe it would be 6 weeks. You would want to make sure your incisions are healed up though, wouldn't want any buggies getting in there. :omg:

Canadian Challange
I'm up for a Aug, Sept, Oct thing. Yoda, what about a small bag of Ringolo's or cheezies every 2 weeks or once a month, or something? Make Mr. Yoda the boss of that... that he has to bring you home a bag on a certain day. ? Ok, so what we're saying here isn't official, there'll be an official "Canadian Fall Challenge" thread ? Make sure you say Canadian! I'm gonna think hard today and this weekend about what my goals should be. How about we have until monday to give 'em to you? And again... people CAN join after then. AND... even if you're not banded yet, you should still join!

Buffalo Bound this weekend!
*while twiddling fingers together* (like Mr. Burns) Ooooooh Cloe, what are we gonna do while Yoda's away?
-
A little NSV
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! CLOE! Congrats! That is FABULOUS!
-
Canadian Challange
Yeaaaah.... I don't really like doing anything. :heh: Do you think walking 3 kms a day would be good?
-
Canadian Challange
Yoda: no no... I guess it's depending on how long of a challenge. I was thinking 20lbs in 3 months! Cloe: I am sooo not a runner. I'm pretty sure you'd win. How about we make it a fall challenge? Since it's almost fall... it could be a 3 month thing. Then we could have a new one for winter? Anyone can join mid-way or whatever. What do you think? Or would you guys prefer a one month thing? Irishmist: I'm with you. Exercise sucks!! Maybe someday I'll start enjoying it.

Buffalo Bound this weekend!
I actually called it Opti-hell. I sold my leftovers to a gal from calgary, and she was scared to try it from my 'reviews', but ended up liking it! I think the yogurt/cottage cheese thing would probably not be so bad for a couple days, but end up being just as tedious. I don't like yogurt though.

In theory this should work...
Ok, I lied. I was in the process of eating it while I typed my post... couldn't quite finish it. But I usually can. Anyways, yup, still down!

In theory this should work...
Damn rights! lol I'm not feeling guilty, I'm just saying, I'm one of those laughable people who can eat a 6" sub.
