  1. Cloe, I kind of see a difference... it's really weird. It's like, when I was 80+ lbs heavier, when I looked in the mirror, I didn't see myself as big as I was. It's like I was a reverse anorexic (?) ... in denial about it, maybe? But then I'd see pictures, or myself passing in a store window, and make myself cry when I did (see myself)... cause I never saw myself like that. Now it's like I'm the opposite. :straight
  2. interesting Mandy... nice name, by the way Sherri - yes, I do exercise... NOW. Just started 6 weeks ago. I'm going about 3 times a week, 1 - 1.5 hours each time. Keep up with the treadmill! Mandi
  3. Thanks guys. It is freaky... maybe it's all my hard work at the gym :heh: ?! LOL I dunno. Maybe it's too soon for the lbs to pack on from the cake?
  4. uh oh... how does she know what you're talking about? What's goin' on here?! Secrets? Secrets?!
  5. Yeah, that's prob. gas pains... kind like a stabbing pain? I got them off and on for quite a while (nothing too bad, or worth taking pain killers for, cause they were gone as soon as I noticed them) I still think I get them now and then ?!
  6. more questions for you: you asked about dumping... have you experienced anything like that? Maybe you don't know the terms we use... maybe you've PB-ed, and just didn't know what to call it? (just in case) *PB - productive burp - say you eat too much, or too fast, or something, it disagrees with you, you burp, and pretty much burp up what you just ate. Not like vomitting, cause it's not stomach acid-y like vomit*
  7. oh, and are you sure it's not gas pain? Is it in your shoulder at all ? http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=12013 Here's just one thread I found talking about it... one person said "I had my hiatal hernia repaired the second time around. The length of recovery wasn't any longer, but I do think the agitation to the diaphragm/shoulder pain was a bit more problematic due to the extra agitation from the repair."
  8. Does that mean that they did fix your hernia, or she's just not sure?! Do a search for 'hernia', and see what comes up. I've seen lots of people on here who've had hernia's fixed at the same time... so you're not alone. And the pain, whether its from a hernia, or just normal post-surgery pain is normal I'm sure. Don't go getting paranoid! Your band is fine! Just stick to your post-op diet, and don't over-exert yourself!
  9. I think you should at least go to the emerg. and telll her to get her ass back to school, cause a sore back's alot different than kidney stones. Then punch her in the face, THEN, take all her money, and that'll be your lost wages! Who does the bus thing when you can't? I have a few things left to buy... should be going Moncton next weekend, so maybe I'll wait til then to see if I can find anything better than I can here. I emailed my dad and asked him to explain to my mom that how much I've lost *IS* good, and even better than where I should ideally be at at this point in the game. Cause I'm worried that when she knows that I'm at, say, 90lbs lost, she'll say "Oh, I thought you'd be down at least a 100 by now". It's kinda like when you got 85% on a test, and were soooo proud, then your parents would ask where the other 15% went. I dunno guys, I'm not really seeing the difference. Yeah my clothes are smaller, but that's about it. Oh yeah... I've got squishy pants. LOL Today is my 8 month bandiversary, so I think I'll get decked out in my comparison photo outfit (scary), and take some pictures. Dan and I took a Xmas picture on Sat. night... well, a picture to give his parents and mine for Xmas. My parents don't have any recent (in the last 10 years) pics of me, and no one has a pic. of me and him, so... thought that would be nice.
  10. You should go, Yoda... I think.
  11. CLOE: it's a thing that RNY patients get. Sherri: I know Davies/Birch used to be only RNY surgeons, but now do the Lapband. (I was on the waiting list to see them.. still waiting for that call! LOL) Maybe this is more the fault of the dietician not knowing, or just mixing up the info. I hope so! Normally, I don't have Breakfast. I am usually much tighter in the AM, and not very hungry, and if I was, it wouldn't go down well. I do have an extra large coffee w/ cream and sugar, every (weekday) morning. (this morning I *did* have a Protein drink, because I have some samples, and wanted to see how this one tasted .. it was good, I might get some more!) If I DO have something for breakfast, it would be something like 7 miniwheats or a handful of some kind of Cereal. At 1pm I have lunch. Today I'm having half an avocado, and a couple turkey pepperoni sticks. *edited to add: 2 sticks were too much... now it's kind of stuck!* For supper, I don't know yet. Last night I had some leftover veggie lasagna.. maybe the equivalent of a 3x3x3" piece. Later that evening I had a mini bag of popcorn. I don't usually have Snacks (during the work day) just because I never bring them. Probably a good idea, but since I don't think of it, it's probably better that I don't. What problems were you having? (if you don't mind me asking... unless you're SURE they're not band related)
  12. How much do you have to lose? That's crazy... you must have been among their first and that's why you got such poor info/support? I hope so, but that's still no excuse.. I had surgery on a Wed morning, and left early Wed. afternoon, so that's not strange at all. How do you eat? I mean, how much, how often, etc? Any problems? If there's anything wrong, you'll likely HAVE to go back to AB to get him to fix it, the guy you're getting the fill from is just that (a fill Dr.) There probably isn't, and you just need a fill though. When did you get your first fill?
  13. haha, thanks! I'm not enjoying it anymore, I FINISHED it! :omg:
  14. Yes, yes it is. You've got too much faith in me, Yoda! I was fully expecting to have gained when I got on that scale, but I can proudly say I am STILL in ONEderland! Exactly the same as last week. Oh well... at least I don't have to change tickers
  15. Good luck Nancy!
  16. Good Luck Khrissy! Let us know when you're feelin' up to it!
  17. nevermind, I see it was about a year ago, is that right? How have you done so far? Tell us stuff about yourself! What kind of problems are you having?
  18. Wow Sherri... were you banded by Dr. Davies and Birch in Edmonton? Why you would get something about DUMPING is beyond me, cause it's not something we get. They should have given you better information. Did you do any research on your own? How long have been banded?
  19. umm... nevermind. I thought they were alot more tight than they are! The ones I was thinking of, I think were these: (http://www.oldnavy.com/browse/product.do?cid=5465&pid=435523) (and thank you... I hope I do stay in ONEderland. Do some prayin' for me tonight, guys!)
  20. hold on... i'll take a picture!
  21. interesting....... I've only had Taco Bell once. I prefer Taco Time! And Harvey's, I just discovered a few years ago (in a Home Depot?!), but yummmm... they make good burgers!
  22. same here... yuck.
  23. I haven't had the treatza pizza, no... I've always wanted to, but every time I had a chance, it was a bday, so I opted for the ice cream cake. I'll tell you guys, if I manage to lose this week (tomorrow),or even just not gain, you can officially call me a freak. *note to self - drink more water, add Benefiber to that water, don't take Milk of Magnesia on weekdays!*
  24. wow... craziness. I guess when you live somewhere and have SO MANY other options, you don't always get around to the old stand-by's that some of us live(d) on! You probably had so many other tastier options. You can't still eat Big Mac's, can you? (and, you don't wanna know what a Blizzard is, forget I ever mentioned it! Stay away from the Blizzards!)
