I can't believe I'm in this place again! I was sleeved in December 2014 and lost 101 pounds. I was thrilled and kept the weight off for 5 years. Then slowly but surely I began to gain... I have been eating whatever I want, not exercising, and basically just being a slug. I finally got the courage up to weigh myself and see the damage, and I've gained 40 pounds!! I have tried to return to the basics but feel constant hunger. I am depressed and pretty hard on myself. I don't like the way I look and I feel like a loser (not a weight loss loser either). I guess I'm just looking for advice, encouragement, and tips to get this weight back off. Thanks community

With all this Covid19 going on is anyone else find they are having to fight off the temptation to want to eat more? I am doing my best to fight it and continue on my journey of loss but it sure calls my name. LOL! Hope you all are doing well?

Can I just say those Protein bars are crap and why not just eat a snickers bar ? If it am on the run I go for a muscle milk drink in the airport ornideally I have pure Protein Drink in the car . I too carry cheese sticks or a wedge of laughing cow light Swiss cheese and celery sticks . The light and fit yogurts are great and pack 12 g ofnprotein for 80 calories . Even a banana is better than that processed garbage . Think about nutrition , liquid and more veggies and lean protein . I wanted something sweet on a cold night and could have done sugar free hot cocoa for 90 calories but no nutritional value or heated up my chocolate protein drink . I did the latter and my surgeon said “right choice “ feed your body and focus on health . Good luck and congratulations on your loss ! U got this !💪

I am at goal , 170lbs and lost 75lbs since 12/18/18 surgery . Don’t really count calories , still focus more on my 60g of Protein , per my surgeon. I estimate I eat around 1200-1400 calories a day . Still drink a Protein Drink in the am and use inspire protein Cookies and crunchers as Snacks and have continued to lose 1-2 lbs a month , but really don’t want to go lower . Spin and walk every day . Still focus on Water .

    Hi everyone,
I just want to say this has been quite the amazing journey thus far. December 18th 2018 I went into my surgery at 285 pounds. 8 1/2 months ago was the biggest decision and biggest step I ever took towards changing my life. For the past 8 years I was a very happy and unhealthy person. Gradually becoming more and more obese by the day. I truly thank my family to opening up my eyes as to how unhappy and unhealthy I was. I first went into my doctors office at a very unhappy and unhealthy 304 pounds. My pre-op diet of Protein Shakes for 2 weeks helped me get down to 285 just in time for my surgery. I am now today 167 pounds as of this morning. I have not been in the 160's since my teens and I am now 27. I still want to lose another 37 pounds to reach my goal weight of 130 due to my height. But the sky is the limit baby!! I just want you all to know post op and pre op that I wish you all good luck and hope you had and have as much success as I did so far. Hugs to you all!!!

Weight Watchers said my goal should be 133. I just wanted to get to a "normal, ideal" BMI and to see the scale below 150. In the old days, the balance scales had weights that moved up on the arm every 50 pounds. I did not want to move the weight to the 150 pound mark, so I set my goal at 149. My doc was fine with that. I want to actually go the 145 so I have some wiggle room. That is still perfectly within normal BMI for my height.
I watched a video by a bariatric surgeon describing the total expected weight loss after WLS. Most people do not get to their "ideal" weight, but any significant weight loss still improves the over all health exponentially. He said that on one side of the bell curve are those who stick to the plan faithfully, record their meals, and exercise faithfully. Those are the ones who have the most sustained weight loss over time. On the other side are those who do not exercise and who cheat. They do not lose well and may regain all their their weight. In the middle are those who stay with the plan, but don't exercise, and those who may exercise, but are not real sticklers to the plan. Bottom line - "you get what you pay for", and "There aint so such thing as a free lunch."
Some people will simply lose faster/slower and will lose more/less than others, not matter what they do. But the greatest overall, sustained success will go to those who are totally committed to the lifestyle change, embracing the new way of eating and learning to enjoy the exercise. It's all about reframing the thought process, developing a new relationship with food and how we move our bodies.

I am 10 months post-op, down 158 pounds. Starting BMI of almost 45 and now my BMI is right about 20! Under my ultimate goal by 14 lbs! I went to my very first club over the last weekend and felt so confident!!! So happy and excited to be here. I never thought I'd be here and it's all gone by so quickly. proud of my fellow weight loss warriors for all. your success. I figure I'll hold off on posting any more pictures until I hit that 1-year mark. Working out, maintaining and getting to my healthiest me. Sorry for the lack of "before" pics. I avoided the camera for an entire decade. Now I'm an obnoxious selfie queen! HA! Love and happiness to everyone. This is just to show it CAN BE DONE. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!
