December 2018 Sleevers!
Omg steve-o u threw up ? I didn’t think u ever did that ! I ate leftover broccoli with an egg and cheese this am- could only eat half so saved half for lunch . Ate it too fast and it was cold and whoops a daisy , it all came back up ???. Kicked Butt in spin this am though and am now 1.5 lbs from onederland - but this is after up 1.5 yesterday so who even knows ! I am trying to distance myself from this damn goal. And yes I agree that one week is not a trend . I was flat for a week and then dropped this am ..oh happy day !

December 2018 Sleevers!
Ironic , I am 8 weeks out from surgery tomorrow and have also lost 58% of excess weight . But downward trend seems to have stopped in the last week !

December 2018 Sleevers!
So I tried to be very measured today with real food . Had whey protein in my green smoothie , then tuna salad at lunch and mid afternoon . Made a real dinner of salmon and steamed broccoli but could not believe how little of it I could eat . Will see if it holds me so I don’t graze the rest of the night ?

December 2018 Sleevers!
Omg u r being very disciplined ! I start the day good but seem to graze the night away . Trying to get to onederland !

December 2018 Sleevers!
So I started doing green smoothies in the am with unflavored protein powder - am again going to try to do just one smoothie a day and regular food otherwise . Did U have any luck with the intermittent fasting ? I do feel like I am grazing from 4-9 pm and that worries me - I need to eat real food and real meals and eliminate this tendancy to snack which is what got me in trouble in the first place

Gastric Sleeve at Age 18
Mikeyy , first celebrate your wins! Losing 150lbs is a huge victory ! I know it’s disappointing to have regained some and to have never reached ur goal . I think the “inspire” website has a plan to knock off lbs from regain , maybe try that ? Also try to get with a Nutritionist and /or therapist to try to understand why u are overeating . I just ordered a good book that was suggested called “we are WHY we eat”. In any case don’t beat yourself up (that never helps ) and wake up every day knowing that day is but one step on your journey . Try not to self medicate with food when stressed, personally I go do spin or yoga or sometimes I just go for a walk . Journal everything , good and bad that U eat or drink and try to figure out why you regained . Also don’t hold an unrealistic goal weight over yourself , some people are big boned and maybe that’s just not right for them . Let go of the judgement . Good luck and try to love yourself during this process

December 2018 Sleevers!
I’m in the same boat. Am planning on hitting wonderland by 2/15 too. Definitely has slowed down, but what can you do, even if you do just a pound a week, it is going in the right direction. I have started to eat more as well. So that’s a disappointment.. but so it goes. I just get busy with work and travel. I am getting in my steps, but i think you have to really eat no carb and 600 calories to keep up that same pace. Not sure i am up for that..

December 2018 Sleevers!
All good and traveling a lot . Tough to manage things , but doing my best . Cheated with 2 glasses of wine last week when in LA .. I’m stuck at 201 .. in the same boat , losing a lb a week or thereabouts .. kinda slow , but better than the alternative ...

Gastric Sleeve at Age 18
Congrats on ur successes, but I know it’s tough to be part way there . Every journey is a day by day step. Do u journal foods and portion sizes religiously ? Do you work out ? Do you drink your water ? I know thebsteps work and that is what I do every day . Some weeks it’s slow and I have skip ups , but I forgive myself, journal the misses and resolve to do better the next day . Good luck, You can do it !

Experiences from anyone who has gone back on phentermine post gastric sleeve
Hi new life - I started at 238 and a BMI of 35 and went into surgery at 231 on 12/18. I dropped to 203 in about 5 weeks . Am losing around 3lbs per week on average . I do at least one but often 2 pure protein drinks a day (160 calories , 35 G protein , 1 g sugar , low carb). Usually one in am warmed with decaf coffee before I spin. After spin I have a poached egg . I drink 24oz of water while spinning . I have a little tuna salad midday. More water after . Then usually a string cheese stick or laughing cow wedge in the afternoon and a shake as I drive home . Dinner is 2-3 oz of fish normally or a cup of soup and some steamed veggie . Last I have a plain yogurt with some sugar free canned fruit cups mixed in, or Occasionally a sugar free outshine bar . Done ! Hope this helps . Usually I log in at 560 calories , 50% protein

Not seeing myself any different
Wow , I’ve lost 35 and have 35 to go- getting lots of comments at the gym and all my clothes r falling off . Happily I have my “skinny” clothes from 10 years ago i can wear . But I still have another 35 to go and measurements are ur best friend for this journey ...

Ghrelin is back (and mad at me)
Omg I am 6!weeks from surgery and just discovered I can eat chocolate and don’t self destruct . Very bad . I throw Up if I take too big of a bite of tuna salad but I can eat a bite of snickers bar and no bad outcome ? WTF? So armed with this knowledge I have to redouble my resolve to track my food and protein and stay away from bad stuff ?

Getting back on the wagon
Veronica my heart goes out to you because we have all been there. “Just eat less and move more “ “they say”! I finally saw a surgeon when , at 57 I knew I couldn’t do it - menopause had made me even more ravenous and despite spinning 5 x a week, the weight kept coming on . You know you need this surgery . Forget everyone else and do it for you . Commit to be good to yourself and work the steps . I am 6 weeks out and down 35 lbs - have another 35 to go . This is a journey and I know you can do it . But u need to commit that u will make the requisite changes in ur lifestyle . Good luck !!?

Experiences from anyone who has gone back on phentermine post gastric sleeve
I did phentermine years ago and that’s bad bad stuff for You. Surprised you have only lost 30 lbs with this procedure . Sounds like you are eating way way too much !! I was told 600-800 calories until goal . 60g plus of protein, under 50g of carbs and as little sugar as possible . Make sure you do 10k steps a day or 50min if cardio plus strength training a few times a week. Most important, get water in! People who maintain their weight after surgery eat an average of 1000 calories, but once they reach their goal . Skip the phentermine and use a food tracker and cut ur intake in half . I was a low BMI as well, this is a tool not a cure and u do have to work the steps, there is no magic pill
-
Post op question
I think regular cardio and strength training is great - training for a marathon will boost hunger. In my view . I still use thebshakes to get the protein first thing in the am and if I do the hunger is much less -

2 week stall
Yes there is the 2-3 week stall, don’t worry , the scale will drop big very soon. It still is not very cooperative I’ve found - I will work out , drink liquids and nada. My nut says that when I lose weight the fat cells fill with water for a time a she said use cucumber water to flush out cells .. like a natural diuretic. But at the start ur body is super confused so don’t fret - it doesn’t know if it’s in a famine or what . Just stay the course , walk as much as you can , and drink ur liquids .

Weight regain, 5 years out
Definitely a cautionary tale. The surgery is a tool not a cure and it requires a lifestyle change for the duration ..

December 2018 Sleevers!
Coexister, I had a stroopwaffle on the plane home last week and a chocolate covered biscuit at work last week. Felt so guilty and thought surely I will explode , right ? But all good - still I have told myself , no junk food , cakes, cookies or alcohol till I reach goal and then only very little every again . I have 38lbs to go to goal , I’ve eaten that crap my whole life - I don’t need it any more , it doesn’t make me happy . Nothing tastes as good as being thin !

December 2018 Sleevers!
205?! Woo woo Steve ! Ur on ur way ! I am stuck at 206.4 since Friday , despite spinning and eating perfect all weekend - 5 days in a row of spinning, weights and riding plus 10k steps ! I think my body just holds on to the weight with water and then lets go 3-4lbs . That’s prob what happened to u - ao I landed in Phoenix and am off to La . Had a yogurt on the plane and some soup when I arrived . Just too hard to deal with real food ..I brought a blender ball shaker and some drinks so I’ll just mix some protein drinks .. just seems easier when I travel !

December 2018 Sleevers!
