6 days post op gurgle
This is very common in the first week. Your body is adjusting and healing. Two things really helped me during the first week; walking everytime that feeling came on and if someone was around I'd ask that to gently rub my back (like burping a baby almost) and as soon as the gas escaped I felt much better.

Emotional first ‘stall’
@sassysleever76, I'm so sorry for your loss and understand where you are coming from. I lost my fiancé (he was 2 weeks shy of turning 38) 13 years ago and for some reason the 9th anniversary of his death was one of the hardest for me. Try to turn your attention to something positive. You're on a new journey and think about how happy your husband will be for you to know that you are taking care of yourself and making positive choices. When you start to feel blue, go for a walk, go to the gym and work out the sadness and change those sad hormones to positive and happy endorphins. As for the constipation, my suggestion is a little Milk of Magnesia daily or find a way to increase your fiber, I've become a fan of ground flaxseed and yogurt daily. You've realized your error, now is the time to take control of your actions and put a stop. You haven't done any damage to yourself, you have this and you will succeed. Remember, stalls do happen and sometimes they last, but don't focus on that, focus on the positive changes you have made to yourself and your new lifestyle.

Rock You Like a Hurricane!
There's one in Ft Myers, FL - I forgot the name of the event, but it had the same exact line up as CR every year. They didn't cancel that show. As for Rock on the Range and Carolina Rebellion; I'll be curious to see what the new music festival in Rockingham, NC will be like. I'm fortunate that I've attended enough Rebellions that now I'll be somewhat forced to try another location festival.

Ok, it's not an app for Android users. Too bad

I’m starving
It's really hard to find where I live, only 1 grocery store sells it. But it got me through pre-op.

I’m starving
Progresso had a great chicken cheese enchilada soup. I could've drank that all day

I’m starving
If you're on full liquids there are plenty of yummy soups out there (no chunks of course). I ate diluted broccoli cheddar, clam chowder, chicken, I lived on chicken bone broth for my 2 weeks post surgery and even 1 of my pre-op weeks. You can have SF jello, popsicles and of course the numerous flavors of protein powders. I bought myself a variety pack for my preop and fell in love with the coffee flavors.

What restrictions were you given for your pre-op? For example mine was 2 weeks of full liquids.

Rock You Like a Hurricane!
Yes, he was with Motorhead. My BF and I try to go to this 3-day concert festival in NC every year called Carolina Rebellion. They were the headliners on our first night. I've been watching to see if we can catch another one of their shows, but our schedules never seem to line up right.

Rock You Like a Hurricane!
I saw them last year - and for an "older" band, they were AMAZING! I would definitely pay to see them again.

Vitamins!
Interesting. I was told I needed / should be on vitamins for at least 6 months post surgery. I currently use from the BP store, Bariatric Multivitamins chewable citrus and orange calcium. I was told I could now go to traditional vitamins but would need to take at least 2 a day. I prefer 1-a day hence I'll stick out the chewable kind.

50g: The most protein I've found in any drink so far
This last year with my weight loss practices, I learned a lot about what my body tolerates and doesn't tolerate. So, I'm very hesitant with corn starches and corn fiber. My body blows up like a balloon in most cases. Even with minimal amounts it's amazing how sensitive I am to these things

They were adamant about whey protein isolate when it came to the shakes. But personally, I'm more concerned with the corn fiber and corn starch. I try to avoid corn starch.

Dating how to's?
Do you have "Meet up's" - it's an app and website that helps you find people of similar interests and they are meet up groups. I joined a dinner meetup and met some great people

I didn't think they were the same. But I also wasn't 100% sure. Thanks for clarifying

Dating how to's?
I would definitely try the dating services. I can tell you from personal experience that I was not lucky on Match or eHarmony. Both had a lot of "fake" profiles and if you pay for the service and happen to respond to one of these "fake" profiles and want a refund, they will not refund you. Not knowing where you live, eHarmony could've been OK but everyone was really far away, no one in my area (NC). I actually met my current BF (of 3 years) on Tinder and was lucky on Plenty of Fish. Don't be afraid to try as many dating sites as you can to find which one has the right "feel" for you. Good luck in your new journey.

I don't see whey protein isolate as a main ingredient. It shows milk protein concentrate (is that the same thing?) I also see corn starch as one of the sugars added. the serving size in 1 cup which only provides 20G of protein where the whole bottle offers 50g. It sounds interesting, but I think for myself, I'd check with my NUT and see if it's an acceptable product.

Feeling resentful, missing my favorite foods
Oh No! I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm sure you've heard this already but there is nothing more important than getting your fluids in no matter how hard it is. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Secret sleevers?
My boyfriend and I thought about telling his parents and he debated it on his last visit home. But then his mother made a comment about her niece's sister'n'law and having WLS and she was so cruel and ignorant about it that my BF opted to keep it between us. I told him after her told me this that his family was probably the only people that I really didn't want to share this with. Nothing good can come of it. And the way I see it, it's not a lie to say I'm on a medically approved and monitored eating plan. - His mother is 5' and weighs 80lbs soaking wet and has pretty much her entire life.

Secret sleevers?
it's still early, I'm only 3 weeks. LOL. I'm sure if I go out to dinner or something with a new group there will be questions. I guess my first true test will either be this weekend with in-laws to be (they are super watchful and judgmental about food) or at the end of the month when we have a department meeting that I catered. LOL

Secret sleevers?
I told exactly 4 people. My mom and boyfriend, my boss and my best friend at work. I wanted to keep it very private, I didn't want to answer questions or receive criticism before hand. If in a year people ask how I lost the weight I may be open about it, but right now I'm just following my plan and no one seems to be questioning my "new" eating habits. Plus 2 oz spread out on a plate looks like much more than it seems.

How old were you when?
2.5 weeks past my 46th birthday. I was a typical yo-yo dieter and at my highest weight 280 when I was 27-28, I was able to lose the weight (120lbs) naturally. I kept the weight off mostly (+/- 20lbs) and then in the last three years weight has crept back up and losing it naturally hasn't work. I used to hear once you get into your 40's the weight is harder to come off. I never believed it until these last couple of years and the struggles I've had with trying to lose it. Best decision I ever made.

128 lbs down
You look great!

40 something sleevers?
I was told no. I'd follow up with your team / NUT because everyone's plan is different

Feeling resentful, missing my favorite foods
Why would you not be able to enjoy going out again? It's actually one of the many things I'm am looking forward to. My boyfriend and I used to share meals and then one day we stopped. I look forward to the day when we can go out to eat multiple times a month for the same price as going out to eat once or twice because we can share a meal. Also, why are you not enjoying making dinner for the family? It's a true pleasure of mine to cook / bake and the fact that I can't overly indulge in everything they can doesn't bother me, because I know that in time I'll be able to enjoy the same meal again but in much smaller portions. Being left out bothers me, I'd rather sit at the dinner table with my family and sip my soup (or whatever) then not be there to watch them enjoying a family meal without me. I was reminded last night that I need to cut my cooking portions because my intake is severely less than the others and I can't expect them to "always" eat the leftovers for days beyond days because my intake is so much smaller. I thought about it and agreed, I was still cooking like I could eat a full meal when in fact I now eat 1/4 if not less than the servings that I ate prior to. so my portion is a 4-day portion now. I don't mind leftovers, but I don't want the same meal for 4-days either.
