R U a NASCAR Fan...Let's Talk!
DeAnn ~ You make me jealous. Sounds like a great time. I think some of the best drivers in NASCAR come from that kind of background and it gives them the basis to handle a car that slides all over the place. Those are fun races to watch. Your not missing much with the Bristol race like I said....at least that's my opinion. I think we're in CA next week. The race to the chase is winding down. It's going to get dirty. Can't wait!! BTW, how does it feel to go to a race after losing OVER 100 lbs? GREAT JOB!!!

New Orleans in Danger again
Funny, you sound so nonchalant. It reminds me of my brother. He too feels the same way. He's been to many hurricane parties having lived in HI, FL, CT, & now VA. I always worry about him even though he feels it's mild. His last hurricane, Isabel, he had to go out during the break (before it circled back) and patch his roof. The tree in his yard crushed part of the house next door. He lives for the excitement. Since becoming a daddy last Dec, I'm pretty sure he won't stay through another major hurricane. I will never share his views on this. Being a Buckeye all my life (living in FL for a short period of time) I am always fascinated how those living in those areas do feel it's not really a big deal. It is to me, but like I said, I would feel differently if I had grown up in the area or had been exposed to it more. It's a way of life either way you look at it. It still breaks me heart to see all the destruction a hurricane or any other disaster can do. I have seen many life-long Floridians absolutely crushed and devastated at what is left of their homes even though they KNEW it could happen. Knowing it will happen doesn't remove the heartache. BTW, have you ever lost your home in any disasters? I know you said you can lived all over being exposed to many natural disasters. Ever lived in HI? Just wondering.

Gotta change my behavior...HELP!
My MIL got me a hand-held solitaire game that I keep next to me. Whenever I get the urge to eat, I'll play the game while I watch TV. It keeps my hands busy and takes my mind off the food. God rest her soul....she's been gone a couple of years now....I think of her every time I pick up that game.

Restaurants...
I have one and used it without problems with the exception of Fire Mountain. I didn't complain. They have had problems with people making fake ones. I can understand. I use it when I can and if I can't, I guess there are worse things that can happen in life.

R U a NASCAR Fan...Let's Talk!
I don't know about you, but I thought Bristol was boring.....especially for a night race. The most exciting part of the evening was when Gordon got a little bump. I've never heard such a cry baby. Sorry Missy.....I said it to my own mother too. She didn't take it so well. :phanvan

~Great News ~ Fox Journalists Released
This is great news!! GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip -- Militants freed two Fox News journalists on Sunday in the Gaza Strip, ending a nearly two week hostage drama in which one of the former captives said they were forced at gunpoint to make statements, including that they had converted to Islam. Correspondent Steve Centanni, 60, of Washington, D.C., and cameraman Olaf Wiig, 36, of New Zealand, were dropped off at Gaza City's Beach Hotel by Palestinian security officials. A tearful Centanni briefly embraced a Palestinian journalist in the lobby, then rushed upstairs with Wiig behind him. The pair, who appeared to be in good health, then met with Palestinian officials, including Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh. The three men sat in a circle of chairs at the hotel, before the journalists held a news conference, then left and crossed into Israel.

10 cc band
Susan ~ I bet you have the same band I do, the 10 CM band. It holds 4 cc's. I'm pretty sure the Vanguard is the one that holds the 10 cc's. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. The Vanguard is the largest band that Inamed markets.

May 2006 Band Crew ~ August Chat
I got my first fill!!! YEAH!!! :clap2: I feel like I'm going from a stationary bike to a Harley-Davidson. It was so neat watching my fill on the screen. I was WIDE open and it took 2.5 cc's to get me to perfect restriction. I feel it now. I'm hoping it stays like this b/c if it does get tighter like I've heard others say, I may get too tight. My surgeon said this is the most he has ever given on the first fill. I took my son and he was absolutely wonderful. The nurse and doc were both a little concerned that the procedure would upset him. I assured them it wouldn't and he would do as he's told. I told him to stand against this wall way behind the area we were working and he didn't move. Bless his little heart, he's only 4 yrs old. I took him to the gift shop and we bought an airplane with those foam propellers and lights. After I purchased it, he wanted to get one for his brother. How sweet is that? All in all, it has been a wonderful weekend and I've been sipping slowly. My scales are moving for the first time in weeks. I want to get out and walk today. Can't wait to weigh in on Thurs for the Sept Challenge. Boy, that's coming up fast. Restriction is good thing. :clap2:

New Orleans in Danger again
Gosh, I can see why you would prefer a hurricane over some of the other things. Although, you do get those nasty tornadoes with the hurricanes. When we bought our home here in IN, a basement was a "must have" b/c of tornadoes. There have been tornadoes in this area. I hope to never experience that either. The people we bought our house from moved to Destin, FL. We had to put off moving in b/c they couldn't get into the Destin area thanks to the hurricane that had gone through.....that was a few yrs back. The weather is a powerful thing.

New Orleans in Danger again
All of them. I understand it comes with the territory. I can't imagine the heartache that comes with losing a home and rebuilding or God forbid, losing a life. It's not for me. I am a big wimp and get fearful just watching those things on TV. Hurricanes would be first on my list of natural disasters I hope to never experience. I have a friend around Naples looking to move. She's had enough. Be safe Funny. Hope the home you buy has 4 walls.

New Orleans in Danger again
I'm thankful to be in IN. I would definitely move. Then again, I wasn't born and raised in that area. I'm sure that would change my feelings. My heart goes out to those people.

The "DeLarla's Back" Fun Thread
The nurse was in the other room and my doc was too short. Nothing to report except I got a fill!!! YEAH!!! 1. I got my first fill 2.5 cc's. 2. Gave birth to 2 beautiful perfect little boys. 3. I was saved at age 10 at Hillcrest Baptist Church. 4. I've been involved in some exciting network marketing companies and made lots of money. Spent it all. Takes a lot of work and dedication. 5. Lived in Pensacola, FL. The Emerald Coast. 6. Speaking of horses.....I rode a high-spirited appaloosa bareback around the county fair race track. She was my best friend's 4-H project. Never forgot that feeling. 7. Competed and placed several times at the Ohio State Fair with my poodle. We went as far as the Open classes where they do jumps & such. I grew up with that dog. 8. I've been to the great state of Texas. Stayed for 3 days at the Gaylord Texan. It was wonderful. A BeautiControl Convention. 9. I've sold cars & have been the high seller for the week beating out ALL the guys. That's all I can think of for now. I know, it's boring compared to many others, but I am happy and fulfilled in my life. I love the life I have in IN with my 3 loves.....DH and 2 sons.

Couldn't click threads?
I noticed the recent posts were from new members & it looked like they could only post their initial thread. If you logged off, you could read threads. I am a little surprised the nudist thread stayed up as long as it did. I think Leatha may be on to something. Gosh, I really miss this place when that happens. It's been a LONG time since that has happened. As a matter of fact, it was the last time people got nasty. Oooo....I didn't know it happened last weekend too. Is there a trend happening here? Hope not.
