  1. I got my date today....I will be banded on May 26th at noon. :clap2: I wanted it sooner, but I can't get in for the pre-op testing until May 18th b/c they are booked solid. After some thought, this is just perfect b/c it falls on the Memorial Day holiday and my husband will be home with me for 3 fulls days b4 returning to work. I'm off to join the May Crew thread!!! This is real....it's really going to happen!!!
  2. DeAnn ~ Sorry I missed this info on your father. I don't know what's going on, but I will lift him up in prayer....and the rest of your family too. This must be so hard on your mom. Take care and keep us posted on his progress. Praise the Lord we made it to church for the AM & PM service. Things went smooth as silk. Thanks for your prayers.
  3. LMBO :pound:At least I can say my pee is clear most of the time (except after my vitamins), but my poop has never floated. I believe what you say b/c you seem to be very intelligent, but this struck me as funny.
  4. The baby shrub showed his temper after being spun out by Mears I think....can't remember for sure. They called a red flag b/c of another wreck at the same time that blocked the track. Everyone was supposed to stop ASAP. Busch pulled up along whoever spun him and gave him a bump. After he got back on the track, they pulled him in for the penalty. I think it had more to do with the safety of the red flag than the bump. Yeah, Jr felt bad. I respect him for being a man and saying what he did. That's true integrity!! How did your brother do on the dirt track? Too bad you can't take a mini tv. Tough call....Jr or Bro? Blood is thicker than water any day.
  5. This is another one that should go on the cover of a magazine. Unbelievable!!! BTW, your babies are so cute. They look like poms to me. What are their names? You can PM so I don't hi-jack....sorry.
  6. I am preband, but my husband developed an infection after his hernia surgery....looks a little like his. Also, as a mother, I would say it looks like some infection. I would use hydrogen peroxide followed by some neosporin. IMO your not over reacting. It looks to me like something that can be taken care of fairly easily. Maybe some antibiotics are in order. Ask your doc and good luck. Keep us posted and keep your chin up!!
  7. Leatha ~ That is so gorgeous!! Keep the pics coming...I can't get too many. Dragonwillow ~ Impatients love the shade. Have you tried them? They are so pretty and seem to be hardy. Mvpo8961 ~ You made my mouth drop!! How beautiful!! I am in love with that HUGE butterfly bush. That looks like the same variety I planted last year. It will be awhile b4 mine is that big. DevilMayKare ~ I guess it will be trial and error with the clematis. Anyone else have any experience with clematis?
  8. I am so sorry to hear about the accident. :cry It sounds like it could have been much worse. I was going to respond with something my husband says....I guess you can keep it for next year: If you rub my back, I'll rub your front!
  9. I don't know who is cuter? Well, as a mother, I would vote for your son first. BTW, I told my mom about your bunnies and she told my brother (they are in OH) that he should get my neice a bunny for Easter b/c we used to do that when we were younger. My parents had experience with rabbits so they were always well taken care of....not a holiday gift that got pushed aside (I'm a little sensitive about animals as gifts). Anyway, she now has 2 Creme D'Argent bunnies that she is going to show in 4-H. In a way, you are indirectly responsible for the wonderful things my little neice has to look forward to. I'm a new aunt to Jack & Angel!! :biggrin1: Thanks for the inspiration!! :clap2:
  10. Since we're talking urine....why does urine turn bright yellow after taking vitamins? Is this good, bad, or indifferent? I have always wondered. Sorry if this is hi-jacking. :cry
  11. How adorable!! If they would just stay that cute or not grow spurs. I've been flogged enough in my time!! Stupid rooster used to chase us kids.
  12. DevilMayKare ~ You have such a gift!! It's not easy planting some things from seeds. I've always loved larkspur and liatris and don't have either one. I did get a butterfly bush in the ground last year so I'm hoping it will do something this year. Do you have any experience with clematis? I have a double clematis that was already here and it's done well, but I can't seem to get it to start by my mailbox. Any suggestions on growing it from a small plant? BTW, we have approx 1.5 acres in NE IN. It takes my husband over 4 hrs to mow & trim. I do most of the flower beds and he does the yard. You should have seen me squeezing 30 bags of mulch in the van last year with 2 toddlers. Dragonwillow ~ How beautiful!! You did a super job!! I've always wanted one of those, but haven't had the time or resources. Good luck on the ground cover. I don't have any experience in that....maybe someone on here can offer some advice. Sounds like DevilMayKare is pretty savvy.
  13. He does help out sometimes, but he usually gives me a break from the kids and takes care of them after he gets home. I can't tell you the last time I gave them a bath. He is a wonderful man and he would have never said anything if I hadn't asked. I'm glad he did though b/c I don't want him to hold things in like that. I want to make him happy. He is the farthest thing from controlling. He knows that doesn't work with me. I'm way too independent. He does support be being on here since he will be getting the band too. We are learning together. I tell him what I learn at LBT. I'll just have to dig deeper to find the real reason he feels like that way. With that said, we did have a fun exchange last night: DH: Are you going to wash my shirt for church? 3L: When I get done with my LBT site (I was in the chair and not near the computer...just sarcastic humor) DH: I'll throw that computer out. 3L: I DARE you! DH: Don't dare me, I'll do it. 3L: Would you rather be right or be happy? DH: Right....wait, I want to be happy. CASE CLOSED!! None of this was serious....we do have a fun relationship and enjoy the exchange. Keeps us on our toes. Boy, I do love this man!! :biggrin1:
  14. Happy Happy Birthday To You!!! :happybday:
  15. Oh my goodness....I love this thread. I will attach a few pics of our house. I have more to do than I can handle. The people we bought this house from spent all their time outside. We spend a good bit and I'm trying to teach the boys about gardening. I grew up gardening and thought I was being tortured. Now I'm going to teach my children. Here's a few pics. The flower gardens goes completely around the house. If the front we have 2 hydrangeas. They bloom in light blue most of the time. Front Yard Back Yard Tree - Does anyone know the name of this tree? It's the same one if the front yard pic taken in the fall. This pic was taken today. I LOVE Jerry Baker. Has anyone NOT heard of him? If not, he is awesome. You can go to www.jerrybaker.com. I have a couple of his books and get his online monthly newsletter. He is a lifesaver when it comes to the outdoors.
  16. Tricia ~ Sounds like a good thing to add to my list of questions. I got low on iron when I was pregnant and I remember the horse pills I had to take.....can't be doing that with a band. I will double check with him on the iron.....THANKS!!!
  17. No war here....I stand by my words 100%. No newbies are personally or individually responsible for the current/upcoming changes. Emotional? Yes, I am sometimes, but I don't feel it's necessary to apologize for it. My heart is bigger than my emotions and it is my desire for everyone to feel loved and welcome here as well as to share different opinions in a mature manner. Families kiss and make-up. I won't be kissing anyone , but let's go forward from here and accept the changes as a positive thing to benefit all of us.
  18. Right now I'm on a kick of chocolate glazed donut holes from Wal-Mart (their brand). It seems they jump into my mouth throughout the day.....those little boogers stalk me. :heh: I'm usually a huge fan of a grilled hamburger with cheese and then add some FF's. We've gotten better and started grilling potato wedges. Cook the potato in the microwave & cut into wedges. Spray with your favorite butter spray (we like Parkay spray) and then sprinkle with some Mrs Dash. They are quite yummy and healthier than regular FF's.
  19. My surgeon recommends Viactiv Multi-Vitamin chewables. I plan to take the chocolate and count it as a daily treat for me. I haven't actually tried them yet, but I've heard people on here that have. Hey Tricia K. do you know if they taste the same as the calcium chewables? I know Wal-Mart carries them. Good luck!!
  20. How about that race? YEAH Tony....way to come from the back of the field.....what a man!!! Most of our guys finished in the top ten except poor Jr. but he did do that himself. I still feel bad for him though b/c he can't seem to catch a break. He should be in the front next week at Talladega. We all know the the super speedways are Jr's thing. Tony will be right there with him though I'm sure. Kim ~ Did you get to see the race? ~Night All~
  21. Being the honest person I am, I must tell you about a conversation I had with my DH. I asked him if he thought I spend too much time on LBT and to my surprise he answered yes!! What a shock. I guess I should take my own advice and spend more time talking to my DH. I asked if he was jealous and he said no, but the house is messy. This is true. I have 2 preschool boys & they are challenging as adorable as they are. My DH actually loaded the dishwasher for me the other night. Here I thought he wanted sex, but he said he was tired of looking at it. I was really going to do the dishes after they all went to bed. :nervous Well, I'm glad this thread was posted and I talked to my DH about it. I will try to be a better wife and keep a cleaner house....understand it's not a "filth" dirty, just needs to be picked up and such. Thanks for allowing me this confession!!
  22. Yup....that's a man for you!! :biggrin1: So predictable!!!
  23. Please pray for us to make it to church tomorrow. We have been out of church on a regular basis, only going here and there since we moved to IN. I think we may have found a new church home and it's hard to get back into the habit again b/c of that little thing called the devil. I'll never forget when we started going on a regular basis after we moved to the Cincy area. My family was waiting in the car as I was brushing my teeth. I said out loud, "Well devil, we are are making it to church today short of a fire." Don't ever tempt the devil. My Water shut off in the middle of brushing my teeth!!! I'm serious as your heartbeat. I went the the car and told my husband what happened. I told him he wasn't going back in....we were going to church. When we got back home, there was a flood in the basement. A water line had broke. It was fixed and I am thankful we were stronger than the devil, but I will never tempt him again. The Lord is good!!!
  24. I just can't keep my mouth shut....sorry.....not really. :cry lmt33167 I think you have taken this totally too personal b/c I have been reading everything regrading this topic and not ONCE did I take offense. Please understand that first of all, I do consider myself a newbie (maybe I shouldn't at this point) and second of all, I did question where a thread went that was deleted in the middle of my reply. Imagine how shocked I was when I didn't know what was going on. I even made a new post asking what happened. Did I expect this topic to go on like it has? No. Did I cause it or was I responsible? No. This is going on b/c it affects each member on this board. Not just you or just newbies. You are putting too much emphasis on yourself. I think it's a little self-serving on your part. I have come to know Paula a little bit as I have a lot of people on here. She is the LAST person that would try to make anyone feel hurt or offended. Then again, she doesn't need me to defend her. Next time, please take a step back and look at the big picture b4 attacking an individual. It's OK to have different opinions, but I don't think it's OK to address an person in the way you have b/c you took it out of context.....this is MY opinion of course. Almost forgot, on the topic of cliques....do I think there are some here? Probably. Do I care or does it affect the way I use this board? No. I agree with what you said, lmt33167: This is a good point of view to have and this board does belong to all of us. It is a gift to which I am so thankful for. I think you are too as everyone else on here. I have never felt this way and never will. This place is for all of us and if it wasn't, your posts could be deleted. I think a little of respect is in order. We are a big family and right now there seems to be a family squabble going on. We'll get through it & like Paula said, I will still be here and be addicted to LBT regardless of any changes that take place. This is a community that I call cyber-home. BTW, lmt33167, I read your signature last night and I really liked it. Please don't try to tear down someone's character by misunderstanding.....give them the benefit of the doubt next time....you'll be glad you did. It's called integrity!!!
  25. This is a great idea and the thought had not even occurred to me. I remember last year during Optifast, they encouraged us to have small rewards for ourselves and not just b/c what the scale had to say. I used to buy OPI nail polish. A weakness of mine. I think it's a good idea b/c it is part of my past & currently present to reward with food. Like you said Photonut, this is a dangerous way of thinking. I do believe you do not necessarily break bad habits, but replace them with new habits.....something positive. I have a charm bracelet with some BeautiControl charms. I will get that baby out and start thinking positive!! What a super way to encourage myself to make good choices!! Look out Wal-Mart, here I come. :cake:
