  1. Happy Birthday Kathy!!
  2. :spider: Hey Murphles ~ Didn't mean to forget you...I guess we missed the date.....sorry. Looks like Myra has now got you covered. :biggrin1: HUGE welcome to MarcyD & michelletur !! :welcome: Michelletur ~ We'll be pulling for you on the May 11th date. :clap2: Magic Bullet?? Thanks for the link to E-Bay. That looks really neat. May have to add one of those to my "want list". :typing: DeAnn ~ What kind of gas strip are you using? I know they came out this the strip and I was wondering what you or anyone would recommend? Does the gas improve everyday?
  3. Congratulations!!! YEAH for MAY!!! You are one day before me, lucky dog!!
  4. Bless your heart!!! Hang in there and I'm sure things will go back the other direction soon, if not already. I will say a prayer for all of you!!

Hi Telly ~ I'm in for this weekend.....2 lbs will be gone. I was away last week so didn't participate. I am going to visit my mother for Mother's Day this weekend....it will be a challenge with all the family there. They will be supportive, but it's the food that jumps in my mouth when I'm not looking!!! :omg: Put me down and remember I can't share my weight....the world would come to an end. :guess
  6. Oh Karen.....this is wonderful news!!! I bet you are just floating around right now trying to let this soak in. The Lord is good indeed!! His will and timing are perfect!!! I am ecstatic for you!!! :cheer2:  :clap2: :faint2: :peace: CONGRATULATIONS!!!
  7. Hmmm....wonder what is going on with RmichaelsAZ? Hey Robin, are you out there? Let us know b/c we would like to keep up with you. So, Myra, did you say you were fixing up pork chops tonight? :hungry: Sounds yummy......just need to know dinner time.
  8. :wow2: we have 47 people getting the band so far for May. I bet there's more that haven't signed up for the May Band Crew. This is amazing!!
  9. :welcomeB: to justduckie & TIDGE!! Glad to hear your already banded and joined us to compare notes. I pray you will continue with a speedy recovery!! dawner119 ~ Will be praying for you also. I bet it so pretty in MX. Give us an update when you can. missyfan ~ Sorry we missed your date, but we will lift you in prayer for your surgery this Fri. Hey Myra ~ Your list is SUPER....THANKS!!! I made some adjustments on my list and I have a couple to add to yours: May 15....RmichaelsAZ and May 17....msj0028. Please let us know if we're missing anyone. We want to stick together and hold each other up for prayer and support!! :clap2:
  10. Kim ~ I was very happy for Jr. :clap2: I guess it had been since July that he's been in the winner's circle. I fell asleep during the middle of the race (that's another story), but caught the last 100 or so laps. Jr is such a gentleman!! I saw him racing Harvick and he apologized for rubbing him. I didn't think he needed to b/c they were just racing hard. Poor "Happy Harvick" wasn't so happy after the race. :cry I'm glad the press gave him some space. It's an emotional thing to drive those cars. Tony showed a lot of patience again this race. I'm proud of him. Maybe next week or the week after he will take the lead in the standings. I think we have a couple more night races....YEAH...I love them. :biggrin1:

TBM ~ Yup, he is on his way. My son did this for a couple of weeks then finally decided it wasn't so bad after we showed him the toothpaste (suggested on this thread). Have you tried that yet? I think it helped us b/c Danny was afraid the poop would hurt. The toothpaste showed how it came out easy. Try it if you haven't yet. I would just KILL :angry my DH if he did that to me. We have had these kind of issues though. It seems our DH's don't think deeper than the moment at times. Mommy's think so differently, thank goodness!!! :phanvan Keep up the good work and b4 you know it, you will wonder when you last changed a diaper/pull-up. It's such a happy and sad time all at once.

Hi Leener ~ I'm glad to hear the response from your doc. I also feel they would have "rushed" you in had things looked differently. I think you are in good hands and I will continue to lift you in prayer!! Keep your spirits up & know we're here for you!!
  13. I will be praying for an uneventful surgery for each of you. Let us know how your doing when you feel up to it. Monday ~ Poster Child Tuesday ~ Seminole ~ MarianneTN ~ Stitchy ~ vericks ~ missnicki Wednesday ~ JJinLA Thursday ~ babyjane ~ karma2 Friday ~ heresdeb ~TwinkleLil Star ~ AMF101 ~ wiggygiggy ~ 4MyFuture
  14. Can I just say :wow2: ? Congratulations to each of you that have been banded so far. I am so glad to hear from all of you about how your doing. I appreciate each post and have been here with a pen taking notes to remind myself of things I'm learning. Boy, experience does speak volumes!! I've been gone a few days & I'm catching up. I was wondering if anyone has heard from the following members that have been banded? We would love an update if your able. ~lululacy ~londoner ~louie ~Velvetkiss ~ Did you decide to postpone your surgery later this year?
  15. :welcome: Welcome to the May Band Crew...it's great to have you all here to share in your experiences. I am so excited to go through this journey with you!! ~kim2bhealthy ~Scout ~Mvpo8961/Myra ~dascjp1 ~junglejim ~taxgirl ~missyfan ~time4change~ Good luck to you in getting insurance approval. Sometimes approval will fly right through and for others like myself, it can go on & on. I hope yours is speedy. Hang in there regardless b/c it will all be worth it in the end. Keep us posted!! :gluck:
  16. I hate it when..... ~ My DH farts ~ My dog farts worse than my DH ~ My phone rings right when I sit down to pee ~ I get stuck behind someone on the freeway and the person in the passing lane is going the speed limit!! Get out of my way already!! ~ Desperate Housewives is a rerun ~ I get robbed at the gas station every time I fill up ~ My mother tells me not to "yell" at my kids, talk in a calm tone...WHAT :grouphug: that's how I grew up

So, what's the horsepower on that thing anyway? :heh: ONE? :grouphug:
  18. Paula ~ Yes, we made it to church and have been going every Sun since Easter. We even made it to Sun PM services. I think this is the church for us and we plan to join. I know what you mean about things going better when you're in church. That is how it is in our family too. Thanks for your thoughts & prayers!! A special THANKS to all of you for the prayers!! :huggie: :grouphug:
  19. Leatha ~ I am almost lost for words!! I have already lifted all of you in prayer and will continue to do so. The Lord is bigger and stronger than those drugs!! Stay on your knees....He is there. God Bless the heart of those precious children!! They are so innocent and don't deserve to be in the middle of all this turmoil....even though it can't be helped at this point. :cry My SIL (she was in her late 40's) passed away last summer from that evil cancer and she had custody of her 3 grandchildren b/c her daughter is a drug addict. It was so sad to see the suffering of those children, ages 10, 7, & 6. Two of them contacted TB before they were taken away. :cry Her other daughter tried to find her sister to let her know her mother had passed away (even had the police looking) and they were not able to find her. As far as we know, she isn't even aware her mother has died....that is if she is alive somewhere. It's really hard on a family to NOT know where a loved one is, even if you know their addicted to drugs. That doesn't change the love in your heart. We offered to take the oldest child, but a cousin stepped up so they could all stay in OH. They live in different homes, but they get to see each other frequently. I can't say for sure they are in counseling, but I know they NEED it for sure!! Keep fighting for those children and fighting for what is right. I don't mean fight your dear mother, but try to get everyone to see how important it is to put their needs before anyone's pride or money. They need all the love and support they can get right now. Here's a big hug for them....:grouphug: With that said, I also have a BIL that I've never met b/c he is also addicted to drugs (they are the only 2 in the family I know of). He has been in and out of jail and actually prefers to be in jail to have shelter. He was on the local news a couple of years ago b/c he had been released and did something to where the police were chasing him. His mug shot was right there on T.V.!!! We have never let him know where we live b/c my DH fears he would come and try to rob us and who knows what state he may be in if he did come to our door. It's so sad. Drugs are so evil & I hate them!!! My mom always taught me not to hate, but I feel strong enough to use that word in this case. Leatha, I really can't imagine the pain and burden on your heart. These are my in-laws and immediate family is different, especially a dear sister that you've been so close to in the past. I will try to lift part of your burden by praying for you & the entire family. I don't always understand why the Lord allows such suffering, but I do know He has been on this earth and knows every pain we feel, felt, and will feel in the future. It makes me think of Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. O.K. I'm a bit windy.....I going to stop. Talk to you soon friend!!
  20. Oh please stay.....I think that's great!! I'm sorry I misunderstood. :grouphug: I thought you had a surgery date. Well, we just celebrated a bit early and we'll do it again sometime soon!! :clap2: :clap2: I wish you the very best with all your tests and such!! It can be overwhelming, but hang in there b/c the light at the end of the tunnel is VERY bright.
  21. I am staying out of this debate b/c you all have it covered, but I just wanted to say how much I appreciate leatha_g!! Do you know what meekness is? It is power under control. Leatha ~ You are a wonderful woman full of wisdom....THANKS!! BTW, I love the rest of you too....I just had to share a bit of my heart.
  22. YIPPEE Sharon....GREAT BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!! :clap2: :high5: :mod:  :whoo: :grouphug: :wow2: :thumb: I am so happy for you!! Oh my goodness, that's next week!! There is a May Crew if you want to join. I like to b/c I can follow people that are banded close to the same time.
  23. Jill ~ Bless you heart, I know it's frustrating. :huggie: I bet you just want to ring her neck even though you like her. :phanvan I would feel the same way. Something that helped me when I thought I would just die from all the waiting (and I didn't wait nearly as long as some) was a quote from PhotoNut: "God's timing is perfect". I hope that helps you as well. Take care and let us know how things go. :grouphug:
  24. Oh, that is terrible news!! Do you have any other information/details? How long after surgery did she pass away? I do know a pulmonary embolism is listed as a possible complication per the info from my surgeon. It that actually a blood clot in the lung? I'm not sure. This doesn't change my mind on the band in the slightest, but I do understand where it can raise a cause for concern when it happens so close to your own surgery date. I don't want to make light of the horrible death of that poor woman, but this should serve as notice that this is a serious surgery that comes with risks with death being one of them. This decision should be weighed heavily and not be made in haste or on a whim. Do I sound preachy? I'm sorry. :phanvan Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself. This is a horrible thing to hear about.
  25. Kare ~ I think your pond is very pretty. It looks like something you would see in the woods. Glad to hear your son inherited your creative side. I wished my DH would inherit some. :heh: Teresita ~ Proceed with caution....you may get recruited by some on here to come "play" in the dirt. Someone was talking about digging holes. :eyebrows:
