Dealing with family during the holidays...*meep*!!!
Hold your head high!! You've given yourself a wonderful gift and in the end, it doesn't really matter what others say. I always say that if their talking about me, at least their leaving someone else alone. Tell them you have the band. It was a personal decision and you have no regrets. Leave it at that. You can smile when you see them huddled in the corner talking b/c your getting healthy and feeling good. And WOW, you have so much energy....look at you chasing the little ones around!!! Let your happy spirit show and don't let them make you feel ashamed!!

definity health
Sounds to me like they just want more info to back up their decision. If they were going to tell you no, you would have already gotten the denial. It could still come back as a denial, but I would call them to get understand "specifically" what they want and then provide it. This happened to me and it was frustrating, but stick with it. It will be worth it in the end. Here's my personal experience: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=17107 Not sure if it will be helpful in your case, but I do wish you the very best!! Hope to hear soon that your approved. Keep in touch!!

I'm convinced that brain cells are sucked out during delivery. At least, that's my excuse. :heh: Leatha ~ I can understand the hesitation with the offer coming via net. It's kind of fun to fantasize though isn't it? We live in a day and age where we can't always trust the motivations of people, ESPECIALLY on the net. There are trolls, pedophiles, rapists and much more we can't even imagine. We are raising our children in a tough time, that's for sure. All the more reason to have them in church IMO.

Well, I guess that leaves me out, huh? The long legged blondes always get the good guys. Enjoy your "quality" time together.....I'm sure it's time well spent. :heh: Yes, I did get the BB yogurt at Wal-Mart. I can't get that blackberry out of my mind, it was that good. YUMMY!!

big fills vs. little fills
Thanks Vines ~ After reading some things on here, I'm thinking it would be beneficial to put it off as long as possible....that is if your losing (and I don't mean fast). Perhaps I should just wait until after surgery b4 scheduling my first fill. I have to coordinate with my DH's schedule, but we always manage. Wow this is really going to happen soon!!

big fills vs. little fills
I am getting banded this Fri with the 10cm band. They usually offer the first fill at 4 wks and it's anywhere from 1cc to 1.5cc. Should I make an appt for a fill even before surgery so I have get a good appt time? There is the possibility I may not be ready for a fill at 4 wks right? What determines the amount they put in or would I notice much of a difference between 1cc & 1.5cc? Looking back now, how would you handle your fills, especially your first? I would like to take the conservative side, but need help understanding what that is. O.K. I'm getting very sleepy and not sure if I'm making sense. :rolleyes Any feedback would be appreciated.

prayer requests for LBT'ers
Oh, Jon, may you just feel the hand of the Lord and He will guide your family thorough this journey. We lost my MIL to ovarian cancer and at one time wasn't sure she would see our first son born....she did and they became great friends. She also got to hold our second son (which is the spitting imagine of his daddy) and know him briefly. She fought a great battle with that evil stuff. In the end, it was peaceful to see her without pain and know we would meet again. God does answer "knee mail". Keep trusting in Him. I will lift Audrey, you & your family, & the precious one still in the oven in prayer. God does work miracles. You will lifted in prayer by many others here as well. I hope you feel the peace of the Lord.

INAMED vs. Swedish Band ? Help
Hi Jim ~ I saw your question on the May thread and wanted to respond here. I am preband, but I have read a few threads on the topic so I've included a couple of links for you. Both of these threads have some good info & pics as well. You can also do a search (link above) and type in "Swedish" to get lots of other info. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=16690&highlight=swedish http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=13765&highlight=swedish I'm pretty sure J&J has not gotten the FDA approval yet for the US, but it is in process. This would definitely have an impact on fills in the US. I am getting the Inamed band myself, but it was the Swedish band that led me to this decision.....my husband used to work for Ethicon Endo-Surgery (a Johnson & Johnson Co.) and had the opportunity to see the Swedish band first hand. We've been talking about getting the band ever since. :biggrin1: Good luck in making your decision and on getting banded!! I wish you the very best!!
