Congrats on your new Harley. Be sure to post pics. What color? We drove by a Harley (could not begin to tell you what it was) yesterday and I told my DH that I would like to have one someday. There are a lot of bikes here in IN and they have a big convention in Fort Wayne every year. I guess that will have to wait till my kids are older and we have more $$. :phanvan Poster Child ~ Love the Boxster!! I love seeing all these rides....it gives me a chance to dream.
  2. Hi, my name is ThreeLoves and I'm addicted to my scales. I can't help myself. I weigh in the morning, afternoon, & evening. Hey Marcy, we must be related. Can't deny I could use a straight jacket. So, why don't I always lose weight after a good poop? :Banane27: I usually lose after I get home from the gym....I attribute it to sweat. I've been doing this for years now. Even b4 I got the band. I guess there are worse things I could be addicted to, right? I feel I'm in control more knowing what the scales say. It doesn't depress me, it makes me work harder. There have been times I've been discouraged, don't get me wrong. Most of the time it gives me strength.
  3. Great idea Pinkylee!! I am thankful I didn't eat the cookies or brownies I took to church this week (there was a funeral). This is the first time I've baked sweets since I've been banded. The smell reminded me of an old friend. I did take a nibble of a brownie crumb and then spit it out in a napkin.....was afraid of it not going through the band. It was empowering to have control. I know I can do this and the Lord gives me strength every day!!!
  4. Hey, where are all you racers? Karen, Kim, Missy???? As you know, I don't have much to brag about these days. Tony is holding his own and only making the news when he shows a bit of his temper. I love road courses as you can imagine. I think all our guys are up in the top 10 to start. Is anyone a Kurt fan? Not meant to offend if anyone is, but I can't believe he's out front. I hope it won't be for long. GO SMOKE & ZIPPY!!!
  5. :update: We had our final lesson last night and got the report cards. Guess what? That goofy teacher (the one I had problems with) checked ALL the boxes as NOT COMPLETE for my son. My other son had COMPLETE on ALL of his. Of course, I walked right over to the supervisor to clarify b/c I know he's been doing great. Another mother walked over from the same class with the same concern. Come to find out, she had marked NOT COMPLETE on all her students, even those in a later class. Surely she was mixed up on her columns. NOPE, we approached her and she said she didn't do those things with the students and maybe someone else did, she didn't know. She only concentrated on the strokes. Let's see.....we're talking Pool Safety NOT COMPLETE, Letting go of edge and swimming back NOT COMPLETE, Enjoy Games NOT COMPLETE, Shows respect for others NOT COMPLETE. Well, the director walked in about this time and got involved (the teacher was in the pool for the lesson at this time). She took one look at ALL the reports and said they were incorrect and we can pick them up on Monday. I confirmed that this so-called teacher will NOT be teaching again. I wasn't mad or upset b/c I really think this lady is just thick in the head. Some people just can't help it. :tired She is just NOT COMPLETE yet I guess. I ran into her in the locker room a while later and smiled and said hello. She smiled back. Life goes on.
  6. My DH actually suggested the band for both of us. I told him only if I get to go first!! He just changed jobs so we need to do some research on the insurance stuff for him. We're looking at next year for him getting the band. This way he gets a preview of what to expect. want2lose ~ Perhaps you could introduce your DH to this site. I have shared countless things I've learned here....even the bad stuff. It's good to have the big picture. I hope he comes around and finds peace with your decision.
  7. Double D's and a bra extension did the trick for me. There is nothing better than the Second Skin Satin. I swear, it's like your not even wearing anything at all!! They discontinued their larger sizes but you can find them on E-Bay from time to time. I have one that should be thrown out. I just keep wearing it and my boobs are happy.
  8. Oooo....this is so great to see.....thank you!!! I noticed your expression changed when the needle went in. What is painful? I hope to schedule my first fill soon.
  9. You know, lzimm36 may be on to something here.....I was checked for a fistula a couple of years ago. I gave birth to a big baby the year prior. This could be the reason for the rectal blood during your period.....the blood could pass through the fistula. I guess there are so many things it could be. I will keep you in my prayers and I hope to hear from you soon as to what the doc said.....keep in touch!!
  10. I feel for you. Septic problems of any kind are not fun. When was the last time you had your septic tank cleaned? It may very well be the septic. We had our plumbing back up last year (our septic was just cleaned the year b4) and got very worried that we were looking at a new leach bed. Trust me, you don't want to replace a leach bed.....we're talking major bucks. Luckily, it was our D-box going into the leach bed that needed replaced. It was actually crumbling. I think it was under $700 for all, can't exactly remember. Good luck and let us know what you find out.
  11. Silly girl. You can PM K@t and she will send it to you. I get full sometimes too.....wished they offered more space for PM's.
  12. Totally unbelievable and unethical!!! I sure hope your regular doc considers not using him again as a backup. Sounds to me like this so-called doc has some personal issues that he needs to deal with. Why would anyone in their right mind even think of such a thing? He must get off my watching/hearing about people suffering. I'm with mysherrijo ~ Let's go get him. Maybe a potato up his tailpipe?
  13. DeAnn ~ So glad to hear your dad got to come home. How has he been since coming home? Keep in touch!! Teresita ~ You are one of the sweetest people on this site. Thank you for always uplifting us with prayers and your words of encouragement!! I am thankful the Lord is active in your heart. Pinkylee ~ Will pray for your mom & the docs to find out the cause of the pain. Did this start in her later years or has she always been addicted to chocolate? I haven't seen too many elderly people eat sweets although my FIL can't seem to get enough sugar and he has diabetes. My kids are totally wired & spoiled when they visit. I'm sure it's difficult with your mom being 78.....it's hard to convince older people to change their habits.

My DH recently traded his Impala for a 2006 Dodge Stratus. It gets better gas mileage and you can use the E85 gas. Yes, it's cheaper but the mileage really goes down when you use the E85. I'm not convinced it worth at this point. This is what my DH uses to mow the grass......
  15. Drews & Linda ~ You both are making me jealous!!! What a tremendous job you have been doing on the Sept Challenge. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: I came home and weighed after my workout and lost 1 lb somehow....maybe sweat?? Oh well, I'm convinced I need a fill. I was on hold for the receptionist today when a call beeped in and it was my mom so I answered and didn't get to call them today to schedule a fill. I'm getting excited b/c this will be my first. I'm a "fill virgin". I will be able to understand the term "sweet spot". How is everyone else doing on their Sept Challenge? There is not one person that could be doing worse than I am.....speak up and let us know how you all are doing. On a side note about laminate flooring......I would definitely pay for installation if you are able. It looks so nice and it much easier to keep clean than the carpet. We still have some planks lay to finish the living room. We have just been too busy to get it done. Nothing like starting a project only to finish 2 wks later. That's home improvement for you.
  16. Hello fellow losers!!! I'm reporting in for the Sept Challenge. Would you believe I stayed the same?!? Man, I thought for sure I would report at least the pound I lost last week. It is my TOM, but this is getting old. I talked to my surgeon's office and scheduled my first fill. I'm keeping my original follow-up for 9-18 and getting a fill at the same time. WAIT, I'm going to call them back and schedule it sooner. Why wait? It's time for my first fill. I have been playing with the same few lbs for weeks now. Can't wait to feel "real" restriction. I do have an NSV though......I'm now wearing some of my smaller sexier bras. Why do the boobs go first? I hope to wear my Victoria's Secret soon. They are my favorite. :biggrin1: Alicia ~ Way to go!!! You are a braver woman than I am. Keep us updated on your training. I started at the Y and will enjoy it more now with my Ipod. Hey Kim, where do you stand on a fill? Oops....I'm out of time. Need to leave for swim lessons. Where does the time go? Great job everyone!!! Thanks for keeping me motivated!!!

  18. YEAH....this is so fun!! Thanks again K@t!!
  19. Thanks Linda!!! They are sure a handful at times. I feel like I have twins. Do you ever feel like your so busy you don't even have time for living? Gosh, it has been crazy around here and I haven't been able to post much. We installed (still have to finish) a laminate flooring in our living room, hosted in-laws, church, appts and the list goes on. Enough belly-aching.....I stayed the same last Thurs for the Sept Challenge. I have lost 1 lb since Fri, but I'll keep that for this week. Sometimes I wonder why my body seems to want to hold on to each and every pound. I've been going to the YMCA and my DH swears I'm getting smaller. I just want to see it on the scales too. :phanvan I will spend some time reading and catching up. Skimming through, it seems everyone is doing well. Drews ~ Holy cow!! I'm so sorry about he possible leak. This gives me a heavy heart....I will pray for you. Please let us know as soon as you get some info!! Diana aka Lotsofkids ~ It's good to see you post on your home thread!!! Of course, your always in my prayers. Hope your doing well and pick a surgeon soon.
  20. :welcome: It's great to have you here Barbara!! How are you'll doing? I'm at a stand-still until I can get my bowels to move. Maybe it's the cheese? I've taken some Ducolax and I hope that does the trick. I am also very sore from installing laminate flooring in our living room. My DH and I decided to save money.....how hard can it be, right? Well....I'll NEVER do that again. It's only half done at this point and we started ripping up carpet on Friday. I go to the chiropractor tomorrow to get a much needed adjustment. BTW, I started the new thread for August. Yes, it's August already. Here's the link to the new thread and we'll leave this one up for a few days. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?p=268482#post268482
  21. Hi Folks, I just can't believe it's really August. Where did July go? I think the May Band Crew did an AWESOME job in July. Hey, I wonder if it's possible to track the total weight our group has lost? On second thought, it may be misleading since many were banded in different years. What do you all think? Here's the new thread and we'll leave the other one up for a few days to get everyone switched over. Here's to a bigger loss in August!!!
  22. Doty ~ You made me laugh out loud. Creepy Curds, huh? :Banane56: I love cottage cheese, it's a staple in my diet. Last night I had cottage cheese & tomatoes with a touch of pepper. Tonight I'm going to look for those yummy grape tomatoes b/c last night it was Roma and those skins were too tuff for me to eat.....had to eat the insides. I can see tiny green tomatoes on my plant & can't wait for them to be ready. leatha ~ There is nothing worse than runny cottage cheese. YUCKO!! Talk about creepy curds.
  23. One of my best friends sent this to me from FL....she moved from OH and has lived there for many years now. ENJOY!! ***************************************** "Down South" means Key West "Panhandling" means going to Pensacola. You think no-one over 70 should be allowed to drive. Flip-flops are everyday wear. Shoes are for business meetings and church. No, wait, flip flops are good for church too, unless it's Easter or Christmas. Sweet tea can be served at any meal. An alligator once walked through your neighborhood. You smirk when a game show's "Grand Prize" is a trip or cruise to Florida. You measure distance in minutes. You have a drawer full of bathing suits, and one sweatshirt. You get annoyed at the tourists who feed seagulls. You get annoyed at the tourists who go swim in the ocean when it is below 60 outside. All the local festivals are named after a fruit. A mountain is any hill 100 feet above sea level. You think everyone from a bigger city has a northern accent, except anyone from California. You know the four seasons really are: almost summer, summer, not summer but really hot, and Christmas. It's not soda, cola, or pop...it's coke, regardless of brand or flavor, "What kinda coke you want?" Anything under 95 is just warm. You've hosted a hurricane party. You go to a theme park for an afternoon, and know when to get on the best rides. You pass on the right and honk at the elderly. You understand the futility of exterminating cockroaches. You can pronounce Okeechobee, Kissimmee and Withlacoochee. You understand why it's better to have a friend with a boat, than have a boat yourself. Bumperstickers on the pickup in front of you include: various fish, NRA, and a confederate flag. You were 8 before you realized they made houses without pools. You were 12 when you first met someone who couldn't swim. You understand that below North Florida is NOT considered the South. You've worn shorts and used the A/C on Christmas. You know what the "stingray shuffle" is, and why it's important! You recognize Miami-Dade as " Northern Cuba" Your Idea of happiness is 100,000 Canadians headed north with a New Yorker under each arm
  24. GREAT. Glad to hear your feeling better. :biggrin1: You deserve to be happy, wait you deserve to be thrilled!! I would be with much weight loss.
  25. Never, never, never. In my personal view, cheating would be pure selfishness and would clearly speak to my own personal integrity. Integrity shows in all aspects of life. Have I been selfish in my marriage, you bet I have. Not on the level of cheating. I'm talking about not fixing supper or not cleaning the house. Do we share fantasies? Yes, it's healthy in my opinion and we keep it within our own walls. Like I have said b4, my DH is the air I breath.....without him, the life would be sucked out of me. BTW, I don't understand how this happens, but I love him more today than I did yesterday. Gosh, I LOVE that man and I'm the luckiest woman on the face of the earth!!!
