  1. I am such a looser! I have bob the biulder and cars and dora and veggie tales...I use my grandchildrens sets that I have here for them. It is fun to watch their reaction when Nana is using their silverware. They have gotten use to it now. At first, even tho I had explained Nana could not eat the way she used to anymore after surgery, their expresions was just to cute! So I have a lot of fun...They might have to tell me not to play with my food!
  2. I am a cheese fanatic! Always have been. I haven't given up my cheese. My kids thinks it's like when I quit smoking, temper, temper, temper.... I have withdrawls from it. You should of been around for my liquids stages.....Yikes! lol not that bad but you are not alone on the cheese. I haven't tried nuts yet, kinda scared that they will stick. So I can't really help you. Just thought I would let you know you are not alone.
  3. I can't do rice at all. It was awful! I was PBing the next morning. It just sat on my stomach.... And I don't like toast or grilled cheese any more. Barely like bread. Which is good. I haven't bought my favorite bread and tried it yet. I don't know if I will like it. It is Italian bread. You will find out some of your taste may change and there might be food you can't eat. Rice is a hard one for a lot of people. Good luck on your journey.
  4. Welcome Esabesa. Good luck with you journey.. We are glad to have you!
  5. Hello Sperry....Dr. Groves done mine! I am in Huntsville. Great job on the weight loss... I get my 1st fill on the 23rd. But if I am correct from what I am reading you have to give the band a few days after a fill to be sure about if it is tight enough or not. You say you think yours is to tight..How are liquids going down?If you are having trouble swallowing then you might want to call the office. Maybe get a little taken out. Good luck. Let us know how things go, alright.
  6. Hi soon, drinking is my big problem also.. I love my Water. I have learned that I can't have it around while I am eating. If I do, I drink it. What I am missing is milk. I love milk but only drink it while I am eating. I don't like it by itself..so I am having a hard time not having milk except in nasty protien shakes... But just don't have any drinks sitting biside you while you eat so your not tempted. Good luck and great on the weight loss.
  7. Hello and welcome. We are here to give and get plenty of support. Good luck on your new journey. Read the site. It has a lot of really good info and advise. It has good recipes and tips and much, much more...
  8. o.k. got tired of my bras so I dug thru my old ones that I kept. I Threw 1 then another and another over on the bed, thinking there is no way any of them would fit me. To my surprise:ohmy:not only 1 fit, but 3 fit and the best part...they are 2 sizes smaller band size than what I have been wearing!:thumbup:Lucky enough my cup has'nt gotten to small. I have always fluctuated between a c & d. So I had some c cups. Hopefully I won't get smaller than a c.
  9. Hello Dusty...Sorry your wife is having such a hard time. After surgery having some depresion and being week is normal. She had her gallbladder removed at the same time so that is a major thing. Just be patient and make sure she gets up and walking so she doesn't get weaker. It will also help in the healing factor. Also make sure she gets her fluids so she doesn't dehydrate. I will pray that she gets better soon. You are such a gem. Keep up the good work.
  10. Cherylita, Hello...It is a natural state for people to loose their "courage" as you put it. Yes there are people that eat around the band, sabatoge themselves..ect.... The band is a tool only. We are still fat people mentally. It takes time to change your mental state of mind. Usually most people are only like this for a moment or a day..This is a life style change..but some still look at it like a diet. Hence a bigger chance at eating around the band. (mental thing) Diets did'nt work, or people wouldn't get WLS. It's just after a while they start looking at it as another diet. Not a tool, not a life style change. Then you have the ones who really want it, but then they start being afraid of what life will be like. (mental thing again) They want to stay in their comfort zone. I personally think everyone needs to face their demonds before having any WLS done. That way there is a better chance of the tool actually doing what it was ment to do...WORK! Sorry if this is so long and rambling. Did you make me mad ...No. Did you make others mad...I don't know cause I can't answer for them. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
  11. Personally I think you need to see your Dr. asap. I was banded on the 5/13. I know everyone is different, but this far out you shouldn't be hurting this badly. Call your Dr. TODAY...this MORNING. let us know what he/she says please.
  12. Welcome Barb...what you are feeling is perfectly natural. I think almost everyone has had these feelings of cold feet...did I make the right decision...will I do good... This is all normal. Good luck on your journey. Keep us posted on your journey, and remember any questions just come and ask!
  13. Congrats Lissa! Good luck on your new journey. I pray that you have a easy recovery.:teeth_smile:
  14. Lay on the bed with your feet against the wall and bring your feet towards your chest. do it several times.. that was what my dr. told me if the gas got really bad. I did'nt have a lot of gas but I would roll 1 shoulder then the other then both together about 15 times. good luck and Welcome to your new journey!
  15. it was about day 6/7 for me to get light headed. thought I would pass out. so added a Protein shake. I was on clear liquids and broths my first 2 weeks. good luck on your journey
  16. Carri thank you for your suggestion about pineapple juice. Unfortunetly I am allergic to pineapples. The hot tea seems to have helped some. I have drank 2 cups so far.
  17. I have not had a fill yet. so here is my delema....I feel as if I have something stuck this morning...Last night I had chicken&rice. Felt fine. woke up this morning, drank Water and felt kinda funny like I would imagine water going around rocks. But I did'nt think a whole lot about it. Tried to drink my protien shake and my chest tightened and I started coughing a strange cough and started trying to spit up. I finally spit out water and Protein drink. So I have fixed myself some hot tea. I hope this works. It seems like it is going down alright. anyone else with this? Thanks
  18. EJ..hi there. I am like you. I miss gulping Water. especially when I am hot! I don't drink as much water as I did before LB. I miss taking a big bite of a chilli cheese dog or a burger that I make at home and is so big....you get my drift. I know this is a problem place and when I can start eating real food again I know I will never have those things again. In a way it is almost like a loss of a loved one. I feel I have to greive over what I can't have and then maybe I will be allright. does that make any sence? anyway I understand you...your not alone.
  19. congrats to those that are having surgery today. Thoughts and prayers are with you today.. Dusty.....do you have a brother? :tongue2: Anyway you will do fine. I pray your wife has an easy recovery time. Make sure she does'nt try to lift anything over 5 lbs...or what ever weight limit the dr. puts on her. Follow the dr.s instructions to a t.. follow the post-op diet to a t. Yes it is hard for someone who just got banded to smell foods...but you can't starve. Read the food thread on here because it has creative recipes for all stages of recovery. Good luck to ya'lls journey
  20. hello Megan and welcome. Get to know this site well it is chalk:thumbup: full of info, laughs, hope, sadness, anger, goals and successes! It is an awsome site. Good luck with your journey.
  21. you need to contact your Dr.! what your describing does not sound good. have you gotten your fills?
  22. Mexican Lasagna :tt1:from Little Rose's Cantina.. It is a very busy place and the 3 times I went there before LB I could'nt wait 45min - 1 hr. I tried going at off times and that is bad when you can't get in at 30 min. in off times. I told my kids that when I can eat again that I was treating them all as long as someone orders the lasagna so I can have a couple of bites!
  23. I was banded May 13th. My dr. absolutly will not let me work out other than walking. Say's to many things can go wrong if you push it before your body heals. So at 6 weeks I can do excersizes after my check up.
