  1. I honestly don't know if it is better or not. But instead of gastric by pass what about the sleeve? There are people on this web site that had the sleeve after the band.

I have to admit that the last two to's(?) have always confused me on the proper use of them. I managed stations for years. Usually your in a hurry trying to get the prices changed so you don't pay attention to the way the number 8 is put up. Now for a few of my pet peeves with the English language. 1) double negatives......"I aint got no" "I don't not do that" 2) not finishing your words out......"I'm going to the how" instead of "I'm going to the house." 3) don't know what to call this...."I teached myself" instead of "I taught myself" At 1 time I had great English. I used to make A's and B's in Language. My spelling was great. But lately my spelling and English have been becoming atrocious. :angry:Thank God for spell check!

We have 2 suspected cases here now. All school systems in Our county are closed until Monday/ or further notice. The 2 schools where it might be at is closed for 7 days. What kills me is they say don't panic/ worry, yet with all the media attention and hype and the Prez putting it up as a level 4(?) (I think)...people can't help but panic. Kinda like the bird flu a few yrs ago. Or better yet Y2K in the count down to the yr 2000. IMHO if it wouldn't be fussed about people would continue on and if they get sick would go to the Dr. Now they are going at the slightest little twitch! If I get it I get it, I will go to the Dr. and say O.K. I need some Tama flu or whatever you can give me. I am out of work right now because of the panic. If I would actually get sick then it is even further behind I will end up getting on bills. I liken it to a tank full of perhonas with a piece of raw meat. A feeding Frenzy! O.K. I am done with my rant.

gamy...I am also glad you found this thread. I love it. I have had my own experiences over the yrs. I have what I call feelings. It doesn't happen often, but when it does I know something is wrong. The 1st time my parents had went back home to Ohio to visit family and friends. I was at work but got this feeling something was wrong. I didn't get off until 11:00pm so I called the next morning just to check. Daddy had had a heart attack and was hospitalized. The next time they were once again in Ohio, I got the feeling something was wrong and a depression came over me and I started crying. I called as soon as I got home from wherever I was at.(I can't remember were I was that time,) Anyhow my mother's best friend had died at the time I started crying. This woman and her husband had always been in our lives. They had been my parents friends since my oldest brother was a few months old. (he was 10 yrs older than me). I have had more of these feelings but not as important to me as these. There are a lot of other things that I can tell about. But will save for another posting. Maybe this will start the ball rolling on this thread again.
  6. look over on the left of the home page. You will find a thread for recipes for all stages. There are some really good ones in there
  7. Came home from church to find out that because of the swine flu and 2 cases being found here all schools are closed till Monday/ or further notice. The school that it was found in will be closed 7 days. Which means I won't be working again. I have been with a temp service doing cafeteria work at the schools. I have yet to get a full week in. I have only been with them a month. My bills are killing me right now. they are supposedly going to find something for the summer for me.
  8. Yes Hellen was hot! Tara was pretty and Mike I felt so happy for him. When they were at the Dr's and looking at their tummy's I realized that I have lost my grandson. he weighs 61 lbs and I have lost 63. I was telling my DS that and that there is no way that I can pick him up. How the sam hill did I carry that around all those yrs? Then their challenge was to carry the weight they lost. Weird that I said that and their challenge was what I was talking about.
  9. Here let me HELP your ankle feel like MINE!!!! Do you think they would have understood that LULU? That is probably what I would have said after the second bump (first would have been a freebie) AHHH but you said DH restrained you. Maybe for the better. Na.......

Congrats on the 100 lb loss! That is awesome. Sorry things didn't work out with the engagement. But something better for you is out there and will happen. Just have patience. Do like lilith said, take some me time to figure things out and relax. The world will still be there. Recoup, regroup, rethink. When you are almost near goal your body slows way down. You will eventually get there, or rethink your goal. Sometimes our body has a different idea of where it wants to be at. If it is within a few lbs, you might need to say I am ok with this and I am now at my new goal. Say I love myself everyday into a mirror. It may sound silly but it really does help after a couple of weeks. Say it with conviction and a smile at yourself. Good luck with your future hon.
  11. Congrats. Fantastic Jodi! You must be on cloud 9 right now. What a wonderful feeling it must be. Are you going to treat yourself with something?
  12. I hope that works for you Susan. Thanks for reporting to Alex. Mine is back to normal.
  13. Happy 50th! I pray you are having a wonderful b-day. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your blog today. It is very thought provoking. I really enjoyed it. As I sit and ponder all you said while I rock in my rocking chair. LOL. I turned 50 in Feb. never thought about it the way you have.
  14. That is awesome! I am hitting the thrift stores. IMHO it is better for me than buying new clothes that I am going to lose out of. That sounds so funny, lose out of instead of grow out of. It is also great about your daughter. Tell her your buddies on LB are rooting for her. Both on the weight loss and softball. Good luck to the both of you!
  15. What a wonderful NSV! Yay for you! WHOOT WHOOT:thumbup:
  16. Alex, hon, I think I am speaking for most of us here, the new format stinks. I think if a poll would be taken it would probably be that at least 95% if not 100% of us don't like the look. Please return us back to normal. Thanks Luv!
  17. If you want to sleep on your side make sure you put a pillow under your tummy. That way it helps hold your tummy up and even. Good luck with getting everything in order and the rest of your journey!
  18. All the grocery stores here sell it. We have Kroger, Super Wal-Mart, Sure Save, Piggly-Wiggly, Star Mart. I don't know if you have any of them in N.Y. or not. Maybe Albertsons, Bruno's?
  19. You had a really bad PBing episode. You need to be on liquids for a couple of days and then on mushies for a couple of days then try small portions of protein. Your band swells and gets tighter when you PB. When you have a bad one you need to go back to basics. But call your Dr. and double check with him to make sure all is well.
  20. Way to go Slim! yay! I can't hardly wait till I hit onderland. I remember the last time I seen it. It was in "89". I was very sick and almost died. Had emergency surgery for it. After surgery I actually weighed 197. That was the lowest I remember, ever! I look at my pics as a kid and can guess about how much I weighed, but from about the ages 12 or 13 I weighed 225. Weighed that for yrs. Then over the last 20 yrs of yoyo dieting I gained to over 300. Don't cha just love yoyo dieting? So healthy:sneaky: I weigh in on Sat. mornings. That way I don't flip if I gain over the weekend when I have the grandkids here. I do pretty good, but still will eat things I know may be a wrong chiose for me. But to be honest I weigh more than that. But Sat. is my official weight.(unless it is lesser during the week. Then that is my official weight) LOL Everyone have a blessed weekend. I am fixing to go mow the yard and finish cutting down holly bushes.
  21. NOT! It's me me me. Nobody but me! It's mine!
  22. Gotta love the contact highs. I managed convenience stores for yrs. That was a daily occurrence in that business. Does anyone else find it disturbing that Pain, oops sorry Plain, recognizes and knows the name of that nasty perfume? I am allergic to a lot of perfumes, but to me patchooli smells like bug spray, Raid to be exact. Gotta go, By have a good day!
  23. O.K. moderator needs to close this thread since I am the rightful winner! I am here to claim my trophy! Thank you, Thank you, I couldn't have done it with out you all.
  24. O.K I posted this on another thread and instead of typing it twice I just copied it. So if you think you have already read this, your right you did! A couple of months after my surgery I bought Tony Little's Rock-n-Roll Stepper. Well I have had it sitting out thinking about it. So since I have been at the proper weight to use it for a couple of weeks now I finally stopped staring at it today and got on it. Oh my word! The back of my calves, thighs and bottom are sore! Just 5 min. on it. I can definitely feel it. It is fun to use as soon as you get your balance. But it really does work you. After that I hopped on the Gazelle for a few min. Side to side..back and forth, all in just a few min. and I feel like I have worked out for a couple of hrs. I actually have a mini gym going on in my home. One half of my living room is my excersize equipment, My Gazelle, Ab lounger, Red, Ball, Hoola Hoop, Rock-n-Roll stepper, hand weights and resistance bands. Then I have all my video and DVDs. You would think I would be uber thin and toned! Yeah there is 1 small problem, I am not consistant with using any of them. I need a good swift kick in the behind to work out everyday. O.K. to be honest I need that kick to work out more than a couple of times a week and longer than 30 min. I just hate excersizing. I would rather work than excersize. What is wrong with this picture. I know it makes no sence. I'm Demented I tell Ya!
