  1. Do all of you weigh yourself once a week? Maybe this is bad or maybe not I don't know, but I wait until I'm at the doctor's office once a month to weigh because I thought maybe it would help me not focus on the actual pounds so much. What do you guys think?
  2. Thanks! That serious helped a lot I never thought to think of a pound that way. I am feeling better today a little I had my second fill yesterday and I'm starting to stay satisfied for a longer period of time which is good so we'll see I'm down from 219 to 207 so my goal is to be under 200 by my next fill appointment on 11/20/2008!
  3. Thanks I have 4.5 ccs in now and I still don't feel a whole lot of restriction but I'll make it. I've just been feeling a defeated. I go fo another fill in about 3 weeks hopefully that gives me good restriction
  4. Ok let me start off I haven't been on here in a LONG time! I had my surgery on August 26th and haven't reall been on here since. I was pretty much a lurker before that, but have posted a few times. Things were easy right after surgery for me and I guess I thought I could do it myself, but now I am totally discouraged. I went to the doctor today and had my second fill and I'm only down 11 pounds total! In 2 months I went from 219 to 207 and over the last month I only lost 1 pound. I lost my will power and have been eating everything I can get down. I feel bad about it and I know I can pick right back up, but I need a few ideas to get me going. I need a free online food journal and some tips and ideas. And just some people to talk to through out the day! Hopefully, I can get back on track and not feel so discouraged. Thanks
  5. i just do Slim Fast low carb.... but make sure you get the low carb it has more protein than the high protein and less carbs.... go figure!
  6. I have a 5 and 7 year old if there is something I can help you with pm me!
  7. my doctor said 20 pounds and I have a 5 year old I didn't lift her for almost 2 weeks but I lifted her yesterday without any trouble she's 37 pounds so I think it will probably depend on your healing and recovery and what your surgeon says
  8. Wow I can totally understand where you are coming from. I'm a single mom myself and kept wondering the whole time if I'm making the right decision for my girls. Needless to say I'm glad I have the surgery and I know I made the right decision for me. Talk to your doctor about it mine was very supportive and said the risk is very minimal compared to being able to be around for my kids longer for me it was a no brainer. Everyone is different though so I would say take your time and weigh all of your options! Good luck!
  9. My dietician visit was real about 30 minutes long and basically she just ask me about my eating habits and gave me some papers I guess to help make healthy choices. It wasn't really that big of a deal. Of course then she was the one who held up my insurance approval for no reason at all so go figure!
  10. 10 days post op and i'm down 11 pounds!!!!
  11. So my surgery was the 26th and I just thought I'd stop by and say I'm doing good. A little sore but good. I hope you all are doing ok too.
  12. Oh well now that my be worth getting it sounds pretty cool. Where did you buy it?
  13. Yeah guess I'll stick to the rules too, but it sure does suck Being an ex-smoker gum is like my life. Oh will one more thing on the no no list!
  14. Yay! I get banded tomorrow too! and darn I forgot the gasx stripes.... guess I have to go back to the store LOL. My doctor is making me stay in overnight a lot are actually outpatient though.
  15. I don't have one and have been on the fence about getting a new one. I like the idea of participating in Friday weigh ins etc. BUT for me it's a lot easier to not check the scale I'm afraid it will discourage me too much. so for now I'm just going to judge by the way my clothes fit.
