  1. Thank you! It's goid to have the perspective of seeing it through her eyes.
  2. Thanks, FluffyChix! I do appreciate your affirmation! I saw a comment in another post that said something like..."I appreciate your concern, but my doctor says I'm healthy. " i will be using that line!! 125 here I come!!
  3. So, I saw my very best friend last Saturday after not having seen her in a few weeks. While we were talking about my weight loss, and I mentioned I was in a bit of a stall, she very firmly told me not to lose too much weight, and that I shouldn't get smaller than a clothes size medium! Background on her. She used to be obese and lost 60 pounds a couple of years ago. She is still an "apple " shape with a bigger tummy, but basically looks good. I'm still obese at 5'3" and 174 pounds, but will soon be just overweight. I have not been overweight my whole life, but she has only seen me obese. Most of my adult life I weighed 125 or lower, which looked good, and was healthy. I did wear small sizes. Do you think she is somehow feeling unsettled by my weight loss? Does she want to keep me the heavier one? I love her dearly but am wondering what is going on!
  4. Yes! So glad you posted this because I was just going to post the same question!! I'm 57, and 4 months post gastric bypass, and just suddenly started having acne on my face. Primarily on my chin, but cheeks and nose, too. Ugh!
  5. I started walking immediately, and began working out at a gym with a personal Trainer at about 2.5 months post bypass. I workout for 3-4 hours a week.
  6. I had to switch my extended release antidepressants to an immediate release one. But kept taking them.
  7. I agree! Focus on being mentally prepared, being positive, and finding the right surgeon. Extremely rare to have to go "back under the knife." You've got this!
  8. I would share my "before " photo, but don't know how to post it here. I have not had any photos taken in a long time, so I don't have a current one. I look nothing like my "before" photo!
  9. If you don't mind my asking...what's so awful about taking a vitamin every day? They make bariatric chewables that aren't bad.
  10. I'll add that bypass eliminated my type 2 diabetes right away!
  11. Oh, my goodness! We're almost twins. I'm 5'3" and started a year ago at 246. I was about 230 day of surgery, 4 months ago. I'm now 177. I was an apple shape before. Not really sure what I am now!
  12. My approval process with Anthem was smooth and quick. Hopefully yours will be, too!!
  13. Mine was the same. I have Anthem BCBS.
  14. Sometimes the scoop is buried halfway down the tub! I love Syntrax Nectar.
  15. Thanks for the update. I'm going to ask for the liquid Zoloft, too. I hope you get the dosage straightened out. My only hesitation is that I currently take an SNRI, Effexor, and Zoloft is an SSRI. So, I wonder how the difference in brain chemicals will affect me.
  16. Yes. My psychiatrist did not want me to have bariatric surgery. I did anyway. And she is very professional and still supports my decision. After all it was my decision!
  17. Yes! How far out are you? It also depends on your activity level.
  18. You're very newly out of surgery. Of course trying to stomach things other than liquids will hurt! Please try to be patient with your new anatomy and with yourself. I promise it will get better! Follow your plan to the letter, and hang in there!
  19. How is it a "rip off"? These surgeries are life-changing procedures. Yeah, they charge the insurance companies a lot of money. But you can't deny the surgeries are worth every penny.
  20. My insurance company was billed roughly $50,000 for the surgeon's fee, anesthesia, and hospital, but they only paid a portion of that.
  21. FrouFrou. How did your appointment go?
  22. I was getting 90-120 gms on the days I workout, in part because I'm not absorbing protein well. Low blood levels of protein. My weight loss slowed to a crawl. So I decided I was consuming too much protein.
  23. Yes, I got one from Lauren's Hope. Great company with lots of choices. Says Gastric Bypass, no sugars. NSAIDS, or blind ng tube.
  24. That's fantastic! Way to go! I'm sure with your training and experience you will impact people's lives!
  25. Hello. Are you sure it is hunger and not an acidy feeling in your pouch? Are you on a proton pump inhibitor? Liquids won't fill you up. Once you can have things like yogurt you will feel better. Please try not to be depressed. You only just had surgery. You need to give your body time to heal. Hood times are ahead. I promise!
